Author's note: This is a little drabble-like story/kind of prologue for a longer story I am working on that will be elaborating on the theme of this. I have been working on a new Grey's Anatomy story for a couple of years now and I will not be posting it until the majority of it is completed as I obviously suck at updating my stories. But I was in the mood to write something so here is a little Lexie drabble. Sorry, I know there's no Meredith but I have something bigger in the works, I promise.
Reflection
Lexie Grey stood in front of the full length mirror that hung from the wall in her bedroom and shook her head at was reflected back to her. She hadn't realized how much weight she'd put on the last few years of high school. The mirror showed all of the extra skin that filled with fat on her abdomen—the jeans she wore clearly outlined her protruding gut. Her shirt barely seemed to cover over the upper portion of her stomach. She certainly did not like what she saw.
"Wow, Lex, you let yourself go."
She turned her gaze from the mirror and saw her younger sister standing in the doorway with a disapproving look on her face. The statement Molly made to her felt like a soccer-punch to her gut, yet, she knew it was only the truth. She truly did let herself go the past few years.
The younger brunette held up her hand as if to stop Lexie from responding. She reached into her jean's pocket and took out a pill bottle. "I have just what you need, Lex," Molly informed her with a smile, she pushed the bottle into her hands.
Lexie brought the bottle up towards her face and read the label over with surprise. To be given this from her own sister only confirmed to her the amount of weight she gained. It hurt that Molly thought she looked fat enough that she needed that bottle of pills in the first place. She sighed and glanced up at her, "Laxatives? Why do I need these?"
Molly chuckled, pointing a finger at the mirror. "You're fat, Lex. These will help you get rid of all that excessive fat. Mom and I have been watching you gain weight for a while now, we figured it was about time for an intervention."
The younger girl left the room and left Lexie standing there in shock.
Her eyes focused back on her reflection in the mirror. She frowned. How was it possible that in the short five minutes that she stood there talking to her sister that she seemed to have accumulated another ten pounds? Maybe Molly and their mother had a point—maybe the laxatives were exactly what she needed. She held the bottle tightly in her hands, walking into her bathroom. She shut the door before sitting down on the edge of the tub.
Lexie looked at the bottle and debated silently before she popped the lid off of it. There was a piece of cotton inside that she quickly ripped out of it. She tipped it over, letting a couple of pills fall into her hand. They were pink, round, tablets that reminded her of skittles. But the difference between skittles and these were that one caused weight gain and the latter would hopefully cause the opposite.
