Hey everyone- quick author's note before we get started. I was rereading chapter 45 and double-checking my math when I realized I made a mistake- two actually. Long story short- I revised the chapter to fix the mistakes- Quick recap- Rogue was born in 1982 and is currently 79 years old. (I wrote 1985 and 75 previously.) Anyway, my math is fixed and now everyone knows. I hope no one minds the quick revision. Anyway- on with the fic!

Please enjoy!

Chapter Forty-Seven:

Jean sat on one of the mattresses. Scott was sitting next to her, but neither of were talking. He could tell she was deep in thought and she was grateful he was giving her space. Rogue had given her a lot to think about.

Although, with everyone in the dome, it was hard to concentrate with so many conversations happening at once.

"You know, I've been trying to get Kurt to come over for dinner again and now I'm the one avoiding them," she heard Amanda say: she sounded bummed out.

"Give it a little time, okay? It's been what? Like a day?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah. Kurt thinks I'm overacting," Amanda said.

"Hey, I'm not saying that at all. My parents were totally wigged out at first. I mean, waking up in the middle of the night in the basement with my blanket phased through the ceiling. Like, who could blame them? But they totally came around. I'm sure your mom will too," Kitty said.

"I hope so," Amanda sighed.

"And I thought Scott and Jean's class was bad," Bobby said laughed- pulling her attention to another conversation. "Are you reading this?"

"What's a Skrull and why did they invade us in nineteen-eighty-four?" Sam asked.

"No idea," Roberto said.

"How are we supposed to take this seriously?" Bobby asked.

"Guys, I think Rogue knows what she's talking about," Amara said.

"Yeah, okay," Bobby snorted.

"No, really," Amara said strongly. "Did you get up to 'dangerous places never to visit and what to do if you end up there anyway?'" she asked.

"These names are crazy," Sam said.

"Atlantis, Latveria, Madripoor," Ray listed.

"Kr-ako-ia, Kre-co-a. How do you even pronounce this?" Sam asked.

"I think it's Kra-ko-a," Ray answered.

"The moon. It just says the moon," Bobby said skeptically.

"We know the Savage Lands are real. Magneto told us that," Roberto said.

"And I know Nova Roma is," Amara said.

"What? You've been there before?" Bobby asked mockingly.

"I'm from there," Amara exclaimed.

'I feel like I used to handle large crowds better,' Jean thought- annoyed with herself. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath- needing to go inwards. '

'Maybe I should let Rogue tell me about my powers so I can stop worrying about it,' she thought as she brushed some of her hair behind her ear. 'But what if I don't like the answer?' she thought as she felt a knot form in her stomach. 'What if I can't handle it? And knowing how strong I'll become makes me lose control?' she asked herself, anxiety creeping up on her. 'Rogue said my powers are controllable," she reminded herself before she felt something warm against her hand.

She looked down to see Scott's hand on top of hers. She let a little sigh of relief as their fingers intertwined. She looked up at him to see him smile down at her. She smiled back.

"You okay?" he asked.

"Just thinking," she said.

"About what Rogue said?" he asked.

"Yeah. It's crazy, right? I've been so afraid to find out how strong I'll become- when Rogue had the answers all along,"

"Yeah," Scott grunted, his tone had a hint of bitterness in it.

"Scott, what is it?" she asked.

"I don't get it. Why didn't she say anything before?" he asked.

"She did, actually," she said.

"When?" he asked.

'A couple of days ago, when I found out about her and Magneto,' Jean projected into his mind. He nodded.

"Still, why not sooner?" he asked.

'Scott, you saw, right? The tension between her and the Professor?' she asked.

'Yeah, what's up with that?' he asked.

'I'm not sure- but I know she's right about the Professor being afraid of my powers,' she thought as she looked down at the front of the dome.

Her eyes met the Professor's and she instantly felt his guilt as clearly as she could see his expression which matched. He quickly averted his eyes and she let out a sigh.

"You're afraid of them too,' she thought sadly.

"Jean- no- It's not-" he said alarmed before letting out a sigh. 'I trust you,' he thought strongly. 'I've never met someone as smart and kind and capable as you are,' he thought.

'Then why did you make such a big deal about me talking to the Professor?' she asked.

'I was afraid,' he thought as she felt his fingers tighten around her's. 'I just- I didn't want to see you get hurt again,' he thought.

She could feel his sincerity, it radiated off of him. She wasn't going to be mad at him for caring about her but being overprotective wasn't the answer either.

"Scott, I can handle the power surges. It's not like last time-"

"Jean- did you even remember last time?" Scott asked. She blinked a few times- thrown off by the question.

"Well- no- not exactly. It's a blank- but I know this feels different," she said.

"You were unresponsive and couldn't hear me. You destroyed one of the labs, everything was flying everywhere," he said as she felt the knot in her stomach tighten. "If Rogue hadn't offered-" he thought before cutting himself off as his expression changed to one of realization.

"Wait- what did Rogue do?" Jean asked.

"Jean, she absorbed you, she put some much on the line to help you clear your mind. So, you could focus on me. It was crazy. For a minute your voice was coming out of her mouth-"

"What? How?" she asked.

"I don't know, but after that, the Professor was able to help you regain control," he answered.

"And Rogue offered to do that? It wasn't the Professor's idea?" she asked.

"He was against it but we didn't have a lot of options," he answered. She considered that for a moment before a contented sigh left her. She felt a smile come to her face.

"So, looks like Rogue's already came to my rescue, huh?" she smiled.

"Jean?" he asked confused.

"Maybe she should have said something sooner. I don't know. But she helped me, Scott. When it really mattered, she helped," she said.

"But-" he objected.

"And I know what you're thinking, but she's already apologized for not offering sooner and I've already forgiven her," she said.

She could see the look of doubt on his face.

"If there ever was anything to forgive," she added as she brushed some of her hair behind her ear. "Scott, honestly, even if she had offered sooner, I don't know if I would've been ready to have that conversation. I don't know if I'm ready to have it now," she explained.

"Well, she said you've got time," he said.

"I'm just not sure how much," she said. Her attention was drawn to the front of the dome as she saw the Brotherhood, Kurt, Logan, and Rogue enter.

"Sorry for the delay ya'll," Rogue said as they entered. The brotherhood started to make their way up and take up the empty mattresses in the room. Kurt teleported up to sit on the same mattress as Amanda, and Kitty. Logan stayed by the entrance, leaning up against the wall.

"Hey, who's that?" she heard Kitty ask from behind her.

Magneto turned from his conversation with Charles and Hank to see who had entered the dome. He saw Wanda holding the hand of a little girl who looked very much like a younger version of herself.

"Curious," Hank said as they observed the little girl. "You have another daughter?" he asked Magneto.

His mind instantly flashed to see the little green-haired girl from his vision earlier that afternoon.

"Not to my knowledge, which is limited at the moment," he muttered as he felt his head throbbing once again.

"Magnus?" he heard Charles ask before he let out a grunt. "Rogue, it's happening again," he called out as Magneto felt the need to close his eyes- pain overtaking him.

It was dark as Magneto stood in the vast field amongst the wreckage of the plane crash. It was a magnetic burst that had called him to the field scattered with flaming debris. He had felt it halfway across the globe. Looking down at the two corpses of the recently departed, he only wished he had gotten here sooner.

'Oh, Suzanna,' he thought as he looked down at his former lover's mangled body with deep regret. 'If only I hadn't lost my temper and pushed you away. If only you had told me you were married- if you had been honest with me from the start- perhaps-' he thought.

"Again, Magneto?" Mastermind asked from behind him- pulling him from his thoughts.

"It would appear so," he said dryly as he put aside his thoughts and walked on. 'There's little use in contemplating what might have been. The reality of the situation must be dealt with,' he thought as he found what he was looking for. 'And I must offer what protection I can,' he finished as he stared down at the little green-haired girl- no more than three years old- his daughter.

"Hello, child," he said as he kneeled down in front of her.

He saw fear in her eyes as she clung to her teddy bear. But she was far too exhausted to take any other action. Single-handedly taking down a jet will do that to a new mutant.

"I cannot apologize enough for only learning of your existence this evening. I'd wager I'll spend much of your adolescence attempting to make up for this failure. However," he sighed. "As much as I would like to take you to your brother now- the legality of it- with Wanda in the hospital-" he considered aloud. "No better to wait," he decided, shaking his head. "Better to give you a sense of normalcy until our new home is ready and such issues bear no repercussions. It won't too long, Lorna. A couple of years at most," he said as he gestured for Mastermind to step forward. "This a friend of mine. His name is Jason and he is going to make the bad memories go away," he said as Mastermind kneeled next to them. "He'll lock them up deep inside so you won't have to remember what happened to your poor mother here today," he said.

"Mommy, where's my mommy?" she asked.

"The child doesn't understand," Mastermind said as placed his hand on the girl's cheek.

"Nor will she ever have to," he said, nodding at him. With that, Mastermind's eyes lit up and his daughter's face went blank as she fell unconscious. "I want her to have no memory of this day. No chance for her to recall what she did," he ordered.

"She's even younger than Wanda and Pietro were. It won't be difficult," he answered.

"Good," he said before stepping away letting the man complete his task.

Several minutes passed before Mastermind turned back up to look at him.

"It is done," he said.

"Then come," Magneto ordered as he reached down and picked up his daughter, cradling the child in his arms. "We have more work to do before the night is over," he said.

Wanda ran over with her daughter and Rogue to her father, to see him frozen in place.

"Rogue, it's happened again," the Professor declared.

"What's happening?" Wanda asked as Rogue walked up to her father and examined his stance.

"Yup, he's locked in a memory, alright. Nothing to do but wait it out," Rogue said calmly.

"Are you sure?" Wanda asked as she felt T.J.'s little fuzzy fingers holding to hers tightly.

"Unfortunately," she sighed. "It might not seem like it, but this is actually a good thing," she said.

"Because he's getting his memories back," Pietro said.

"Exactly," Rogue said with a nod. "What were y'all taking about?" Rogue asked.

"I asked if he has another daughter," Hank supplied. Wanda watched a smile come to Rogue's face as she turned to look at her father.

"Please let it work this time," she muttered to herself. "I've been trying to get him to remember Lorna," she said.

"Who's Lorna?" Wanda asked as she and her brother shared a glance.

"Do I have another sister?" Pietro asked alarmed.

"Yes, her name's Lorna Dane. It's a long story," Rogue answered. "Short version," she said turning back to look at them. "Your father found out about her after she was born- years after. He was going to introduce ya'll," she said while looking at Pietro, "on Astiord M. Unfortunately-" she said.

"The amnesia," Pietro finished.

"Yeah," Rogue sighed.

"What's Astriod M?" Wanda asked. She watched Rogue and Pietro share a look.

"It was an idea your father had to keep mutants safe but it didn't work out and you never had the chance to go there," Rogue answered.

"Oh," Wanda said as she watched them share another look. 'What aren't they saying?' she asked himself, suspecting there was more to it.

"Magneto messing up his mind- it ah- it's caused lotta problems," Rogue continued. "But Lorna is safe, happy, and healthy, and as much as I wanted to tell you about her- given the state your father's in. Pietro- you get why I didn't say anything, right? Why I didn't bring her into this mess prematurely."

"Yeah, I get it," he said nodding thoughtfully.

"I don't believe that was your call to make, Rogue," the Professor stated irate.

"Right," Rogue said dryly, a discerning look coming to her face. "Because if you had been aware that one of Magneto's kids needed a safe place to live, you definitely would have offered it, right?" she asked, her tone having a mockery to it. She watched the Professor's eyes widen. "No questions asked, hell or high water you would've provided that home. Isn't that right, Charles?" she asked.

"I- well-" he said before he swallowed, suddenly uncomfortable. Wanda tried to look at him- not understanding his discomfort- but he avoided her gaze. He heard her brother let out a huff as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"I was the only one in a position to make a call regarding Lorna, so I did what I thought was best," Rogue said firmly.

"Which was?" The Professor asked.

"Lorna has an aunt and uncle, who may not be related to her by blood, but they love her all the same. She's only seven. Didn't feel right to pull her from a happy home," Rogue said.

"I wish I knew," Pietro said. "But I get it," he said before her attention was drawn to Magneto as she watched his eyes snap open.

"Father," she said as he blinked a few times- as he attempted to regain his bearings. "Father," she muttered again.

"Magnus, are you alright?" the Professor asked.

Magneto came out of the memory, his mind throbbing- thoroughly confused. "I'm alright," Magneto lied as he made eye contact with Rogue. She didn't look convinced, her face was colored with concern. 'I need context and I can't ask for that in front of the others,' he thought to himself- as he held her gaze. A look of recognition crossed her face.

"Ya wanna go get some air? It might help," Rogue suggested, seemingly reading his mind- or at least his body language.

"Yes, yes, I think that it would," he agreed.

"We can do that. Just give me a second, okay?" she asked. He nodded as she walked to face the entire room. "I wanna start by thanking each and every one of you for pitching in today. We got this place up and running so fast, Ya'll should be proud," she called out enthusiastically as they let out a round of cheers.

'Magnus,' his friend called to him.

'I'm alright,' he lied again- Charles didn't look convinced either.

"And Ororo's already placed the order for pizza night," Rogue continued, a smile in her voice, which was met with an even louder round of cheers.

"Pizza night, pizza night," Iceman and Cannonball chanted which was met with a short round of laughter.

"But, unfortunately, we're gonna have ta post-pone the lecture," she said.

"Boo," Shadowcat called out playfully before she and Amanda started to laugh.

"For a very good reason," she said, her eyes flashing to his. She swiftly turned back to the room. His son looked up at him- a thoughtful expression on his face. "This is now an open space. Any of ya'll can use it as an alternative place to do homework or ta relax and hang out. I'll be making use of it on Mondays and Wednesdays afternoons. Everyone is welcome to come to my lectures. I'll be covering a large variety of subjects about our universe; knowledge that could potentially save your life one day. I strongly encourage everyone to attend, but it ain't mandatory. The first will be this Wednesday. After that, every following Monday. Thanks again. Hope ya'll enjoy the pizza," she finished.

He and Charles shared another glance before he followed Rogue towards the exit. He noticed her gesture towards his son with her hand. Pietro gave her a quick nod, running out of the dome before them. He and Rogue soon followed.

"Rogue?" Magneto asked with a raised eyebrow as he saw his son waiting for them outside- well out of earshot of anyone within the dome.

"Just need a minute with him," she said.

"A minute for what?" he asked- though she gave no answer as they caught up with his son.

"What's up?" Pietro asked.

"As one of the only of this family with their head screwed on straight, I'll need your help," Rogue said.

"Yeah, I figured. Whatever you need, mom," Pietro smirked. Rogue chuckled at that.

"What's happened?" Magneto asked.

"Rogue had to spill the beans about the whole time-travel thing," Pietro answered.

"And you believe her?" he asked.

"Yeah, of course, I do," his son said easily, surprising him. "The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. Her knowledge, why you've been so all over the place the last few years," he said. He raised an eyebrow at that.

"I didn't know you thought I was-"

"Dad, I'm with you all the way- you know that," he said strongly. Magneto nodded at his son. "But it's been kinda hard to follow some of your choices. They've seemed, I don't know, sporadic, kind of random. I always figured you knew things I didn't," he said.

"Well, he does," Rogue said. "He's gotta a whole lot of knowledge trapped in his subconscious," she added.

"And that's what's been affecting him?" Pietro asked. Rogue nodded, confirming it.

"Once he has all his memories back. It won't be an issue anymore," she said. "But for now, we need to keep a lid on things. Logan won't say anything. But the brotherhood boys and Kurt. I'm a little worried.

"Is everything alright?" Magneto asked.

"Situation a little volatile, but manageable," she said. "That's where you come in, Quicksilver," she said, turning back to face his son.

"What do you need me to do?" he asked.

"Keep an eye on Lance for starters. If he starts acting up, remind him that I will tell Kitty before the night is over. I made him a promise that I have every intention of keeping," she said.

"I'll talk to him," he said.

"Also, look after Kurt- he's gonna be itching to tell Amanda. But he can't. Not until they're alone. If he gets antsy, help them get some privacy," she ordered.

"Not a problem," he nodded. "Anything else?" he asked.

"Our newest addition is staying with the brotherhood. It'll be good for Wanda, give her someone to focus on. You'll help them get their room set up tonight?" she asked.

"I'll take care of it," he said.

"And if you can, help T.J. steer clear of Charles. I don't want him anywhere near her. I've taught her some deflection techniques but she's only twelve. If he picks up any stray thoughts," Rogue warned.

"Yeah, got it- protect our family," Pietro said.

"I'm just hoping Kurt won't have a problem with it," she said.

"Rogue, don't worry about it. I'll deal with him and the brotherhood. You help the old man get his memories back. I can handle the rest," Pietro said.

"Thank you," she said warmly, placing her hand on his shoulder. "And I was teasing ya earlier. We didn't have time for a full conversation. Remind me this week and I'll tell you all about Crystal and," she said.

"Who you are under no circumstances marrying again," Magneto found himself saying, his tone stern. Pietro looked at him surprised as a smile came to Rogue's face. His head was throbbing again. "Damn-" he said, taking a few steps away- needing a moment.

"It was a political marriage that didn't go well. Crystal was unstable and unfaithful. You were miserable most of the time," Rogue elaborated. "No way in hell are we gonna subject you to that again- not when the best of your union is coming out a damn time vortex," she finished.

"Thanks?" Pietro asked. "I think," he added as Rogue laughed.

"We'll talk more tomorrow- for now, you should get back," she said. "If you need us, we'll be in the gazebo," she said.

"Seriously, don't worry about any of them. I got this. You can focus on taking care of your husband," he said.

"Thank you," she said earnestly. He didn't need to look back at them to tell his son had run off- the short gust of wind that followed the use of his abilities was more than enough of an indication.

"He took that well," he muttered.

"Better than you did," she said as he felt her hand take hold of his. "Come on, sugar. We have a lot to talk about," she said. He nodded, allowing her to lead the way.

A few minutes later, Magneto was standing in the gazebo with Rogue. He was keeping his eyes closed as the throbbing quite painful.

"Max, are you okay?" she asked as she placed her hands on his shoulders. His hands went to her waist, needing something to hold onto. He rested his forehead against hers, as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I'm not certain. I have conflicting knowledge-" he said.

"If it's about Lorna, I can understand your confusion. Do you know who she is?" she asked.

"Yes, my daughter," he answered.

"Okay- that's a great start," she said, he could hear the smile in her voice.

"But little else makes sense," he said.

"That's okay. Walk me through what you remember and I'll fill in the gaps," she offered. He nodded before he broke away from her. He ranked his hand through his hair as he attempted to reconcile his knowledge. "Start at the beginning. What's the first thing you remember about Lorna and Suzanna?" she asked.

"It was- hm- nineteen-ninety-four when I met Suzanna. Natalya died, the year prior, leaving me alone with the twins," he recalled.

"Ah-huh," she said as she crossed her arms over her chest. "And how to Natalya die again?" she asked.

"The car accident," he answered before he heard her foot begin to tap against the wooden boards beneath them. "Rogue?" he asked, looking up at her.

"And how did Jacob die?" she asked.

"My father?" he asked, thrown by the question.

"Yes," she confirmed.

"Gas chambers, like the rest of my family," he answered.

"Shit, maybe we should've talked about this last night," she muttered before she started to pace the length of the structure.

"Rogue?" he asked as he watched her.

"I thought the suppression was limited to the memories from the days of future past," she said.

"A fair assumption, given what you've told me," he commented.

"But after we made the bet and you didn't remember Lorna at all, I thought I might've been wrong," she said, still pacing.

"About whether I had another child-" he supplied. "You already knew the answer," he realized, ranking a hand through his hand again.

"Then the other night, when you said your father died in the gas chambers. I thought maybe you were just simplifying it for the room- choosing not to explain the real way they died," she said.

"The real way?" he asked confused as he watched her continue to pace. He shook his head before walking up to her. "Rogue," he said as he took a hold of her arm, pulling her towards him. She glanced up at him- her eyes widen, tears forming in the ducts. "What are you saying?" he asked.

"Max, all those causes of death you just listed- none of them are accurate," she said.

"What?" he asked as he felt his eyes widen.

"I'm sorry, Max," she said her hands moving to his chest. "I'm so sorry," she said burying her head against him. He wrapped his arms around her- as he took in what she was saying. "I didn't know- not for sure- and- I should've- I should've been trying to get you to remember," she muttered against him.

"You have been," he reminded her as he held her against him.

"I should've-" she said as he put his hand under her chin and lifted it, forcing her gaze to his.

"It's not your fault," he said.

"You don't understand- you don't remember. If we had just waited- waited till both of us were in Bayville. But we were so eager to have you back in your own body. I could've absorbed Jean again- gained access to telepathy. You would've been nowhere near the enhancer and the last three years would've gone so differently," she lamented. "I'm so sorry," she repeated. He sighed at that before leaning down to kiss her. She melted against him. He pulled back and used his thumb to rub the tears from her cheeks.

"There's little point in contemplating what could have been," he said. She let out a huff.

"Unless you start messing with time travel- then it's all you can think about. Nearly every waking moment of every damn day," she said.

"I don't blame you, Rogue," he said, cupping her cheek. "I know you're doing the best you can and I could hardly be your only concern. Not with the weight of all mutant-kind on your shoulders," he said.

"I'm sorry nonetheless," she said. He responded by kissing her forehead.

"It's alright," he said soothingly. "It's alright," he said. "We press onwards. It's all we can do," he said.

"Max, if that's what you want. Then okay," she said before looking up at him. "But it's gonna be a long painful afternoon for us," she said.

"I am no stranger to pain and we'll do what we must," he assured her. He watched her let out a sigh in relief at his conviction.

"So, who do you wanna start with?" she asked.

Okay- calling it here for now! I got this chapter written fast- lol. I hope you all enjoyed it- please let me know your thoughts!

AbraxasDane: Thank you! Yeah- Charles is really shady but he usually gets a pass because of the whole no-killing rule. But OMG are some of the things he does shady as all hell and yes, someone needs to call him out on it. Might as well be Rogue. XD

Yeah, I'm looking forward to Charles finding out about everything. It's going to be epic. Not that I know when it's going to happen. I know what all of the major plot twists are. But to keep it interesting for me to write- I have no rules about when things will be revealed. This is such a long story with so SO much plot- I need that to keep it going- focusing on character interactions to keep things fresh and engaging. :) I'm so glad you're enjoying it! More to come!

Little Red Dove: Hi! Thank you! To be fair to Wanda- she's had one hell of an afternoon with so much new information being thrown at her so quickly. She needs a chance to breathe- lol :) Some of the stuff in your review, I won't comment on- cause that dives into spoiler territory. Just know this is my favorite hobby and yeah- I think it's going to end up being longer than Taunting. I'm just taking it one chapter at a time and enjoying the ride. I'm so glad you are too!

Quick responses to your review- Yes, Charles sucks. I love our DMs! I also love the way she talks about Max :) Thank you as always for your long reviews! I hope you like this chapter too!
