Some people think that when the moon is full, a werewolf is forced to change into a disgusting man-wolf hybrid. That's not true. Blaine felt the moon's call to him like a pulsing in chest. Werewolves didn't need to change, they wanted to. He folded his clothes and left them hidden in a bush like always. Slowly, he felt the hair begin to grow, he felt himself shrink and his bone structure change. Gleaming hazel eyes looked up at the moon, its light shining on the curly black fur. Werewolves were just like normal wolves, only bigger and more deadly. He felt the rush of the full moon. Run. That's what it was telling him. A werewolf could normally run for miles, but on a full moon Blaine once found himself two counties over. A howl was sent up in the woods. His brothers had changed. He ran. Tree root. He tripped. He felt a little less cool, but relived to have been alone. Jeff snickered in the distance. Blaine was upset.

"Oh great alpha! He is beauty, he is grace," Nick's voice taunted from the darkness. Blaine ignored all the haters. He continued to run, watching out for tree roots.

It was five minutes past seven and Kurt was fixing his hair. He had been up most of the night. Since he didn't need to sleep, he used most of the night to keep on top of his studies. Dalton was no joke in the curriculum department. This was one of the only time being a vampire was actually beneficial. The teachers were all praising him for doing exceptionally well while being so new.

Glancing at the clock, he made a note of the time. Blaine was never late, except for the time he said Jeff had a "poop emergency," but still it was only a couple minutes that time. He went back to coiffing his hair just right. Honestly the only real reason he went to breakfast was to spend time with Blaine. When he was first starting to experience the symptoms of turning, he and Burt just thought he was sick. Food tasted bland. He and Burt were sure it would taste fine when he got better, but he never got better. He wasn't feeling full either. No matter what he ate, he was never satisfied. He could remember slicing his fingers on a can one day and was transfixed at the blood running down. The impulse to lick it was strong. When he did, it tasted so good it scared him. But he continued to lick it up until it stopped bleeding.

"Ugh! I'm so gross." He put his comb down and looked over at the thermos. He would need his dad to do a blood run soon. That made him scrunch his face up. He checked the time again. It was now ten after seven. Blaine still wasn't here? He sighed and got up. Maybe he was busy making out with someone other guy or making it rain with his number. Kurt rolled his eyes at himself.

It's not like he's your boyfriend or anything. You have no right to get mad about it.

Ow, that hurt. He had to stop hurting his own feelings. He stood up, scraping the chair against the floor when doing so. If Blaine wasn't coming to pick him up, he would go pick Blaine up. If he wrecked a make out session, so be it.

Please don't let me wreck a make out session.

He grabbed up his bag and headed towards Blaine's room.

"Oh my god, Blaine!"

David stood in the doorway of Blaine's room with his tablet open to his "Blaine's Daily Schedule" tab. He was very proud of it since it was colour coded and numbered by order of importance. He had come in here to give him said schedule as he walked with him to Kurt's room, but the future alpha was currently laying shirtless, face down, and with his cover thrown haphazardly over him.

Nick and Jeff were beside him, thankfully dressed, while Nick poked Blaine with what looked like Blaine's selfie stick while Jeff shook his head tiredly. They both had blood shot eyes and looked as though they were barely standing from how exhausted they were.

"Please tell me he has pants on at least under there…"

Wes had made it into the room behind David. Nick shifted the selfie stick under the blanket and flipped it. They all exclaimed before seeing he indeed had pants on and shared grateful sighs.

"Oh thank goodness." David clutched his chest with a sigh of relief.

Jeff kicked the bed, annoyed. "He was up all night! You know what he was doing?" Jeff shouted.

"Running," Wes mumbled.

"Running! Like I don't even know why he does that! Nobody else does! It's like he's in a competition with someone he doesn't realise is his own damn reflection in the mirror!" Jeff turned around in annoyance. David patted him on the back. "I'm just so tired! He ran all the way to the next county before we could convince him to at least stop for burgers! We were starving, but we couldn't go in anywhere naked! We had to freaking DoorDash it! You know how hard it is to convince them to drop it at the edge of the woods?"

Wes nodded. They all knew.

"I know you had a rough night." David consoled him. Jeff's mood was typical after a full moon and no sleep. Nick took Jeff over to the corner and spoke to him softly. The blond ended up smiling at the words spoken.

Wes made his way over to the window and jerked open the curtains, letting the sun shine right into Blaine's eyes. "Wake up sunshine!"

Blaine grumbled and turned with his face in his pillow. David knew that trying to get him up like this was no easy feat. In fact, they had had to lie several times before that he was sick. So far, no one had put together his bouts of illness all coincided with the full moon.

"No one invited me to the party in Blaine's room."

They all started at the small voice in the doorway. David turned to see Kurt slowly inching his way into the room.

"No party! Just trying to get the lug out of bed." He grinned widely at Kurt, hoping to not be suspicious. The last thing they needed was to have to explain why a random human was having to sign a NDA. Paperwork sucked.

Kurt smiled back at him before his eyes landed on Blaine behind him. Suddenly, Kurt turned nearly red and shot his eyes to the floor. David looked at him, confused for a second.

"I- I was just- just worried. He- Blaine that is…"

Oh. David nodded his head slightly in realisation.

Wes was busy nudging Blaine. "Get out of bed or you're not going to sing lead anymore."

Blaine stirred but didn't move.

Jeff bounded over to Kurt, shoving David away. David glared at Jeff and righted his blazer before going to assist Wes.

"Good morning, Kurt!" Kurt smiled at him and glanced over at Blaine's shirtless body, then tore his eyes away. It was like he was magnetized or something.

"Morning, Jeff."

Jeff eyed him before looking over at Blaine.

"I will throw out all your hair gel!"

Blaine still didn't move. Wes thought that would get him for sure.

"Want to help us wake him up?" Jeff asked.

Kurt pointedly didn't look at Blaine. "Sure."

Jeff grinned wickedly. He looked over at Blaine's form on the bed.

"Hey Kurt!" Jeff said loudly, so that the whole room could hear him clearly. "You want to do a duet in Warbler practice today? But we have to be careful! I tend to get way into it and kiss people when singing romantic duets with them."

Blaine shot up.

"No one's singing a duet with Kurt but me," he mumbled tiredly so that only David and Wes heard.

Wes shook his head. Kurt couldn't help but take in Blaine: shirtless so that miles of sleep-warm skin was on display, his hair a curly mess, and he was facing him. Blaine seemed to rub the sleep from his eyes and notice Kurt. At the same moment, they both went red and looked away. Wes raised an eyebrow at Kurt while Jeff snickered to himself.

"You ever notice how one of Blaine's nipples is higher than the other?" Jeff asked with an evil grin, nudging Kurt with an elbow.

Blaine wrapped his arms around his chest. "They are not! I measured!" Blaine said with his cheeks almost the color of a tomato and a glare aimed at Jeff.

Kurt looked up shyly. "I think they look fine." He said it so quiet it was almost a whisper, but Blaine heard it and he smiled slightly to himself.

Jeff smirked, satisfied with what he garnered from this situation. It was definitely mutual.

Wes wasn't smiling. He looked from Blaine to Kurt's face and knew trouble was starting.

"Okay! It's 7:30 now!" David announced. "We need to get going!" He pulled Blaine up the rest of the way and ushered him to the bathroom.

Wes needed to do damage control. It was one thing to deal with a silly crush Blaine had, but it was a whole other problem if it went both ways. Unrequited was manageable; requited was dangerous. David made his way back, shutting the bathroom door behind him.

"He'll be ready in a minute."

Wes stopped David right beside Kurt. He smiled as he addressed the dark skinned boy. "David, we're all hanging out after classes today, right? Oh wait! Blaine said he had a date he was really excited for, didn't he? Oh well. Guess it's just us. You in Kurt?" Wes turned to the boy.

Jeff glared over at Wes, but he ignored everyone besides the pale boy in front of him.

Kurt felt his heart crack slightly. It must be with that guy. The one he kissed on Valentine's Day. He hadn't hesitated to call him. He looked at Wes, who was clearly expecting an answer. He forced the most sincere smile he could.

"I actually have stuff to do. I can't. I also should get going, I have to talk to Mrs. Connors before class anyway." He smiled as best he could before waving and walking out. As soon as he was down the hall and around a corner, he stopped and let his back rest against a wall. He closed his eyes and forced back tears. Blaine was starting to date someone. This was for real. Blaine didn't love him. He would never be his. He pinched his side and shook his head.

You won't break down here, Kurt Hummel. You're stronger than that.

He kept his head up and marched to his class.

Back in Blaine's room, Jeff glowered at Wes while he talked to David about their schedule until Blaine came out of the bathroom in uniform, hair gelled to perfection. Wes glanced over at Jeff and caught the animosity directed at him.

"What?"

"You can be an ass sometimes." Jeff looked away and back at Blaine who was as confused as Wes.

"I thought Kurt was here? Where'd he go?"

"He said he had to talk to a teacher before class so he was going to head out," David supplied helpfully.

Blaine looked obviously disappointed. "I feel bad I slept in and disrupted our routine," he said downcast. He definitely hadn't gotten enough Kurt time that morning.

"Maybe next full moon, skip the running all over the damn place." Jeff said, not forgetting his annoyance from earlier, but seeing Blaine so sad his face softened. "Come on, let's get to Mrs. Connor's class. You can pass cute notes to Kurt." He whispered the last part so Wes wouldn't hear.

Nick trailed behind them, but Wes remained in Blaine's room and stopped David from following. David gave him a questioning look.

"What are the numbers on Blaine thinking he's a Disney princess and following his heart only to mess up everything we've been working for?"

David frowned in concern, but pulled out his tablet and punched the screen a few times. He winced at the numbers.

"They're… Not good."

Wes sighed. "How bad?"

David didn't answer.

"Is it Blaine calling PETA bad or Cooper bringing a kazoo to their Aunt Cassandra's funeral bad?"

David wrung his hands and looked away. Wes looked at him expectantly.

"Do you remember the Great Soup Incident?"

Wes gasped and clutched his chest. "Crap!"

David nodded solemnly.

"It's fine. We can handle this."

David didn't look convinced.

"We just have to stop things before they turn bad." He clapped David on the shoulder and walked toward where the rest of the group disappeared. David let out a long-suffering sigh before following his friend out. Numbers were so much easier to deal with than people.

Kurt hardly looked at Blaine the whole class. Blaine had written a note to him, apologising for being late this morning. Kurt took said note and smiled and turned back to the front. Blaine would have delighted in the sweet smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. One thing about Kurt was that he always smiled at Blaine like his whole heart was in it, but this time it it seemed forced. After class ended, Blaine tried to talk to him.

"Kurt, I'm sorry I-"

Kurt turned towards him. "It's fine. No need to apologise. It's not like we have a contract or anything." He laughed and it came out somewhat nervous.

Blaine frowned. They had two more classes together and one apart. Blaine spent most of the two classes they had together trying to catch Kurt's eye, but he didn't seem to notice. By the time they got to lunch, Blaine was stopped by a teacher and asked a question about the Warblers. While Blaine was always ready to gush about them, he really needed to get to lunch with Kurt. He smiled at the teacher when he thanked him and ran to the cafeteria. As soon as he spotted David sitting at a table, he made a mental note of where it was and went to grab some lunch. He arrived at the table, fully prepared for them to be in their usual seating composition which consisted of Jeff and Nick on one side and Kurt and Blaine smooshed together between David and Wes. He was surprised and disappointed to find Kurt sitting in between Jeff and Nick. AND he didn't even acknowledge Blaine! Was he that mad about him missing breakfast? Surely not.

"Finally! What took you so long?" Wes asked nonchalantly.

Blaine's eyes were trained on Kurt. When he shot a questioning gaze to Jeff, the blond glanced at Kurt (who was finding his food very fascinating) and back at Blaine with a small shrug. Blaine sighed and sat down beside David and Wes.

"A teacher was asking me about the Warblers." He didn't do much to hide his downcast attitude. Pushing his food around his plate, he chanced a look at Kurt who looked away as soon as their eyes met. What had he done? Was it not eating breakfast with him? No, he apologised and Kurt said it was fine. Was Kurt jealous he got all the solos? No, Kurt had already said he would beat him to a solo one day. Kurt was nothing if not competitive. The more Blaine racked his brain, the less it made sense. Kurt stood from the table and announced he was going to stop by the library before class, leaving the group. As soon as he was out the door of the cafeteria, Blaine huffed loudly.

"He hates me!"

Nick rolled his eyes and put in his head phones. Jeff stared pointedly at Wes, who shot his friend another confused look and David just sighed as he pushed his finished tray away.

"He doesn't hate you Blaine," David tried to reassure him. Blaine shook his head.

"He won't even look at me! He said maybe two words this whole time! He said he was fine, but he's acting the opposite! What did I do?" He questioned himself and let his head fall in his hands.

Jeff turned so that he was straddling the bench seat. "It probably doesn't even have anything to do with you, Blaine. Maybe some asshole said something careless."

Wes looked at Jeff, wondering where he was going with this. Jeff noticed his look, but instead of continuing the thought he just got up and left the table. Blaine watched him go, wondering what his problem was, but Kurt was his number one priority right now. What could he do to make it up to him? That is, if he could figure whatever he did to make Kurt mad at him...

Kurt knew he wasn't being fair. He walked down the hall toward his dorm. Avoiding Blaine wasn't fair to him, it's not his fault he was dating someone who wasn't Kurt. But he couldn't help avoiding him when every time he saw him he thought about him holding hands with someone else. Smiling at someone else. Kissing… He needed to stop thinking about it.

He got to his dorm and made a beeline to his thermos. He drank it feeling a weird combination of satisfied and disgusted. He finished it and made a mental note to call his dad when he was half way through the second. Now, back to Blaine. He threw his bag down and made his way over to the desk where he had his laptop set up. He quickly booted it up and scrolled down his contact list on Skype. Luckily, Mercedes was online. He clicked on her name and it started ringing. Kurt felt himself relax a little bit when her beautiful face came on screen along with Rachel. He noticed they were in Rachel's basement.

"Thank goodness you guys are together! If only Tina was there too."

"Well actually-"

Kurt didn't let Rachel finish. He needed to get this crap off his chest. "It's about Blaine. I don't know what to do anymore guys! I tried with the Valentine's stuff, but that blew up in my face!"

Rachel put up a finger "K-Kurt?"

He ignored her. "I saw another guy KISSING him on the cheek! He gave him his number and KISSED him on the cheek! Like, who does that?"

"Um Kurt-" Mercedes tried to say something, but he held up a hand signaling he wasn't done.

"Then he wants my notes! It's freaking Valentine's Day and he wants my notes?" Rachel was now pointing off screen, but Kurt was too worked up to care what she was doing. "Then! He's late on picking me up! When I go, MAKING A GESTURE, to get HIM, he's passed out in his bed! And Wes just offers up that he has a date tonight!"

Mercedes raised her hand. "Kurt we should say that-"

Kurt was way too worked up. He hardly even registered that she spoke. "I mean, I could say that I did get to see him shirtless today and it wasn't disappointing. Like, at all. He has abs like…" He made a face that clearly showed his appreciation when a familiar voice came through from off screen somewhere.

"Get some, Hummel!" That was unmistakably Puck's voice.

Kurt froze. "Please tell me Brittany has been working on impressions."

Mercedes and Rachel panned the screen over and the entire glee club from McKinley were awkwardly standing around the room. Kurt let his held fall into his hands. "Well I'm going to go die of shame now."

"Hey! Dude, it's fine!" Finn rushed up to the screen and smiled. "I mean I'm not really into talking about guy's abs, but we all miss you!" Santana came over and leaned on Finn's shoulder, earning a glare from Rachel.

"We do, lady lips. We are having to replace you in the, 'We hate Rachel Berry' club."

Rachel made an indignant squeak and crossed her arms. "That is not a thing!"

Finn took her hand and smiled at her so she calmed down. Santana gagged at the two. Artie rolled over with Brittany in his lap and waved to Kurt. Brittany waved too, but she seemed like she was looking at the wall behind the screen. Puck gave him a mock salute from where he was leaning on a couch in the back ground. Mike was sitting on said couch with Tina cuddling and they waved too. Quinn was sitting on the opposite end with Sam sitting in the floor in front of her. She smiled at him and Sam waved. Kurt felt a sudden pain in his chest. He didn't realise just how much he missed them until they were all sitting in front of him. Willing away the tears that threatened to fall, he waved back at all of them.

"Thanks guys. I miss you all too! A lot…"

Finn nodded and smiled that adorable half-smile.

"So, you're having trouble with this Blaine guy?" Santana asked. "Papa Smurf, right?"

Kurt laughed, but nodded. "I was going to give him a Valentine, but I saw him with another guy," he confirmed sadly.

"Do you put the moves on?" Mercedes asked.

"When I want a girl to notice me, I try to like, be around her a lot and wink! Definitely wink!" Finn winked at Rachel making her laugh and push him away.

"Well, I always make a first impression, by doing an impression!" Sam added happily.

"Just ignore him. It'll drive him crazy!" Puck offered.

"You can always dance! That's how I got Tina." Mike smirked at his girlfriend. Tina rolled her eyes, but her blush gave her away.

"Thanks guys, but I don't know if that's going to work," Kurt said. He appreciated their input though. It meant a lot to him to know they all supported him.

"Have you tried just telling him how you feel?" Kurt looked over at Quinn who was smiling gently at him. "I mean, you said you didn't give him the Valentine, so maybe just straight up tell him."

Mercedes and Rachel looked back over at Kurt. Honestly he hadn't thought about just plainly telling him. That was scary.

"I… I hadn't thought about doing that. I had hoped I would make a gesture and he would reciprocate." Kurt was looking down at his hands.

"Maybe he doesn't think you're interested, so he is dating other people," Tina added.

"You should sing it to him! I have the perfect song-"

Rachel was silenced by Santana.

"Don't do that. Just, whatever Rachel says, don't do it." Rachel huffed and looked away from the Latina.

"I know what to do."

Kurt knew that if he really wanted a shot with Blaine, he needed to lay it all on the line. They all smiled, some even giving him thumbs up. It was nice to know he had friends. Even if they didn't get to see each other a lot anymore, they would always be there when it counted. They talked for an hour or so before Kurt told them he had to go plan an outfit for his walk with Blaine. After hanging up with them, he went to his closet and looked over his clothes. He eyed an outfit he had selected before throwing himself on the bed, dreaming.

Tomorrow, laying it on the line.

Blaine was looking at an article called, 'How To Know If You're Not Pleasing Him.' It was not what he thought it was going to be about, but it did have some interesting things he may need for later. Jeff was not there, which was unusual being that he was always glued to Blaine. Nick was watching tv while typing on his phone. David was opening his new planner and planner sticker set he had bought and would not stop going on about. Wes was ticking things off a list.

"Was he nice?"

Blaine, who was now trying to read an article called 'Are They Mad Or Just Having A Bad Day?' mumbled, "Yes."

Wes smiled as he checked that off his list. "Did he have good conversation?"

Blaine clicked onto a page promising secrets on how to build a lasting relationship. "Yes."

Another check.

"Was he handsome?"

Blaine made an 'eh' gesture. Wes rolled his eyes but check marked it anyway.

"Did you generally like him?"

"I guess." Blaine shrugged not taking his eyes off 'Do's and Don't's of Flirting' article. Damn, he was doing this all wrong.

"Well that's great! He meets all the criteria! He'd be a great partner!" Wes closed his notebook, satisfied with himself.

"I'm not feeling it," Blaine said plainly.

Wes immediately deflated. "Blaine, you've been on five dates-"

"Business meetings!"

Wes rolled his eyes. "Business meetings, and you're telling me there's not one you want to make it official with?"

Blaine finally stopped his scrolling and gave Wes eye contact. "I don't want to settle down with someone I feel 'okay' about. I want to be madly in love with them!"

Wes sighed. "I know, but you have to try harder and be more realistic. I want you to have everything you want. I want you to be the amazing alpha I know you are, but that also means finding someone to help you become that alpha." Blaine looked back down at his screen. He knew that Wes was right, but he also couldn't help how he felt. Every boy he met with he would try to like, but then there was Kurt's face, smiling at him. It wasn't something he could just shut off.

"I know, Wes."

Wes looked at Blaine sadly before going back to his notes. David, who had pulled out his own laptop while they had been talking, went wide eyed at his screen.

"Oh my god Wes!"

Wes and Blaine turned to look at their friend.

"What?"

"Kurt's… he is pulling ahead of you in the school's academic ranking!"

"What? No way!" Wes grabbed David's laptop and looked at the screen. Sure enough, Kurt had a couple points more than Wes. "What the hell?" David gingerly took his beloved laptop back.

"Looks like he's been getting A's since he's been here. Not to mention all that catch up work they gave him. No wonder he's ahead. Guy must be a genius."

Wes was dumbstruck. "Even being a genius, how did he get all that down so fast? Does he even sleep?"

Blaine laughed, making a note to ask Kurt what his studying secrets were. Maybe he could tutor him in some of his subjects… Nick shook his head at the ridiculous, noisy friends.
