Sorry to leave you all on such a cliff hanger last week, but we are back today! Thank you to dawofmorning and It'sNotEasyBeingQueen for the lovely reviews! The boys are definitely not making the best decisions at the moment lol. Enjoy! - A and K

Blaine was making his way determinedly down the hall. Time to make things right! He had gone up to Kurt's door several times and every time he chickened out and left again. This time though, this time he was going to knock! No more running away!

Jeff and Nick watched, slightly bored from the hallway where they leaned against the wall. He had been going up and down the hallway all morning.

"Have you even thought about what you're going to say?" Jeff asked as he tucked a rebellious strand of Nick's hair back into place with a smile.

"It would probably be a good idea to do that before you make a idiot out of yourself," Nick added with a grateful smile back at Jeff.

Blaine was pointedly ignoring them. "I just have to apologise. I'll tell him I'm sorry and we'll go back to being best friends." Blaine said, mostly to himself.

"I don't think Kurt's the type to just be okay after getting crushed." Nick said thoughtfully.

Blaine glared at him.

"Yeah, and then you ignored him all day yesterday, so he probably hates your guts," Jeff shrugged matter-of-factly. Nick made a noise of agreement and Blaine wanted to tell them their common sense wasn't needed, but he just bounced on his toes in front of Kurt's door and blew a deep breath out.

"Just knock, Blaine. Just knock," Blaine told himself. He shook out his hands, built up the courage, and knocked on the door.

Nothing happened.

He knocked again, louder. Nothing. Blaine glanced at his pocket watch, noting it was 10:30. He knew Kurt wasn't the type to sleep late, even on days with no class. Usually the boy was up early doing something. He sniffed the door. He could smell the underlying smells of Kurt's scent, but he could tell his friend wasn't there and no sound came from behind the door. Quickly, he turned to Nick and Jeff.

"What?" Jeff asked, seeing a panicked look in the future alpha's eye.

"Kurt's not here." He sniffed the air. Werewolves could locate a target in a small radius by smell. "He's not on campus at all."

Jeff and Nick exchanged glances.

"Maybe he went home?" Nick offered. "It is the weekend after all."

Blaine shook his head. "No, no. He told me that his dad was going on a day trip or something and he was staying on campus." He chewed a nail. "Surely he wouldn't have left without telling me."

Jeff could tell Blaine was starting to panic. "Hey! Calm down. I'm sure Kurt's… somewhere. Safe!" He quickly added the last part after his friend looked like he was about to freak out. He rubbed Blaine's back comfortingly.

Wes hurried up the hallway spotting Blaine. "Blaine! There you are! I've been looking for you! You're going to be late for your date!"

Blaine stared daggers at him, clearly not in the mood for this.

Wes held up his hands. "Fine, you're going to be late for your 'business meeting.' Now, let's go." Wes made to grab Blaine's arm, but he turned from his grasp before he could.

"Jeff, Nick, I need you both to search the surrounding area for Kurt. I need to know he's safe."

"One of us has to go with you," Jeff reminded him, "but I'll go look for Kurt and Nick can stay with you."

Nick nodded as Jeff took off down the hall.

Wes was looking at Blaine with a confused stare. "Why is he looking for Kurt?"

Blaine didn't look at him when he responded. "Kurt's not here," he said simply.

Wes groaned internally. This was going to be harder then he thought. After leading Blaine trailed by Nick to the 'business meeting' and leaving him with a sweet guy who Blaine would no doubt ignore because he was worried for Kurt, he pulled out his phone and dialed David's number. His friend picked up within a couple rings.

"Wes! Dude! You'll never believe what I found at the office store! Color coded numbers that would work in my study guides! This opens up so many possibilities!"

Wes shook his head. "David! Listen, I need you do dig up some dirt."

David had stopped fan boying over his recent purchase and gave his friend his complete attention. "Oooh, who are we needing dirt on?"

"Kurt." There was several moments of silence. Wes almost thought that he had lost the call, but then David responded.

"Uh, is that such a good idea? I mean you know how Blaine feels…" David sounded tentative. "Plus, Kurt is super nice."

Wes huffed. "David, you know as well as I do that they just… They aren't meant for each other! I want Blaine to be happy and if he pursues Kurt any more, I don't think it will end well." Wes really hated his job sometimes. He loved Blaine like he was his own brother and he couldn't wait to see Blaine grow into the alpha he was meant to be. However, as Blaine's main adviser, he had a duty to Blaine and the pack. Kurt just wasn't a piece that fit.

After a few minutes of thought, David sighed. "Fine. I'll see what I find."

Wes thanked his friend before hanging up the phone.

Sorry, Kurt. You're a cool guy but I have to protect Blaine...

Kurt was sure he was already dead or would be shortly.

Being a vampire was supposed to mean he wouldn't get kidnapped! Well, apparently not, since he was currently sitting on a surprisingly comfortable surface, still in the darkness of whatever was over his head. Something was giving him a headache.

He wanted to smack himself for being such a fool. What had he been thinking going down to the woods just because someone asked him to? Not his most brilliant moment.

Suddenly the bag was removed from his head and Kurt had to shut his eyes against the light. He blinked a couple times before everything came into focus. Looking around frantically, he expected to see torture devices and possibly other kidnapped victims in a creepy dungeon. What he didn't expect was a cozy office with a nice desk, at which sat a man with a wide, friendly smile. The man had his hands together in front of him, and his hair was combed neatly to the side. Kurt was very confused. His hands weren't bound and he was seated next to a door. If he was kidnapped, they were the worst kidnappers ever. The man adjusted in his seat slightly before speaking.

"Hello!" he said enthusiastically. "My name's Elliott Gilbert. I'm your coven representative! Nice to meet you!" He held out his hand to Kurt who looked down at it and back up at the hopeful smile on Elliott's face.

"What the hell is this?" Kurt still had absolutely no idea what was going on.

The smile faltered slightly on Elliott's face and he pulled his hand back. "Like I said," he went on undeterred. "I'm your Lima Coven representative assigned to your case! You were taken off the wait list since you had some… difficulties at school." He coughed slightly, but continued. "That is why we are just now meeting." He smiled again at Kurt.

"Coven?" There was so much in Kurt's head right now that he could only get out the one word. He stared at the little pumpkin spice candle burning on Elliott's desk.

"Yes! Covens are like groups that help you through tough times. We have information on everything vampire related, support meetings, sports teams, a killer family picnic in the summer-"

"Wait! So you guys are like… AA for vampires?" Kurt was still shocked by everything that was happening. His headache was making all of this more difficult to process.

Elliott laughed. "A little, but we are more than that. We are like a family." Elliott leaned forward, his smile flattening slightly. "Your family isn't going to be around forever-"

"Hey!"

"But you will! And we do a lot better when we have a group behind us to support us. Unless your father is interested in Turning. That will require an application and some paper work, but if not you will be spending eternity alone."

Kurt knew there was truth to what he was saying, but that didn't mean he liked thinking about it. He wasn't even sure how long he would live, but he had been avoiding looking into it. He hadn't let himself think about the eternity aspect of it. Kurt didn't really like thinking about a life without his dad in it.

Elliott set what looked like a contract in front of with and with his gleaming smile, held out a pen that said Lima Coven's, Stake It 'Till You Make It Dance Troupe on it.

"Ready to join?"

Blaine was bouncing his leg nervously. He was never nervous on da- meetings, and he was usually much nicer than he has been to poor… Jake? James? Whatever! He wasn't Kurt. No, Kurt was somewhere out there, missing. Maybe he got so mad at Blaine he left school. Maybe he was so crushed he fell into the arms of some horrible person that took him away to a cabin and locked him up, only to force him to sing for his pleasure and force feed him crappy dollar store chocolates! Wow, where did that come from? Blaine would need to speak to someone about that particular fear.

Anyway, Joseph was laughing at something in his own story, but Blaine couldn't bring himself to laugh too. Blaine was watching as-- Jasper? No, it definitely wasn't Jasper-- launched into another long winded story. He started running through what he should have done that day…

~Blaine's mind theatre~

"Blaine, I- I love you." Kurt whispered as his eyes gleamed with unshed tears from the pure emotions making a tornado in his heart. Blaine's heart beat faster.

Violins played in the background, swelling as he stared at the beautiful boy in front of him.

"Kurt, I…" he was so struck with love that he didn't know how to say the words needed to express the pure joy he felt at that moment. Kurt looked away.

"If you don't feel the same it's okay! I'll just-" He started to run, but Blaine grabbed him by the arm and twirled the boy into him. Kurt's eyes were wide and full of awe.

"No, I feel twice as much as you do! Kurt Hummel, I'm in love with you!" Blaine stared deep into the blue eyes.

"Oh Blaine!" Kurt's lips were trembling with emotion. Blaine leaned in and took his lips into a kiss. Kurt closed his eyes as his mouth moved with Blaine's. Blaine started to deepen the kiss until he heard someone annoyingly say his name several times.

"Blaine?" Blaine shook his head before seeing Jacob sitting across the table looking worriedly at him.

"Sorry! I have a lot on my mind. School stuff, that is." Damn, why did Jacque have to ruin what was turning out to be a great daydream and probably the only kiss with Kurt Blaine would get to have?

"Oh, it's fine, I was just gonna give you my number. I have to get going, but I would love it if you called." Poor boy. He was sweet, but Blaine could literally not care less. He did acknowledge he was kind of being an asshole. It was his own little rebellion against everything they were forcing on him. Still, Blaine accepted the number with his charming smile. They walked out to the hallway together.

"See you, Jonathan!" Blaine said.

The boy laughed and shook his head. "Bye, Blaine. Say hello to whoever's it is you've been thinking about this whole time." There wasn't any jealousy or hatred in his voice, just sincere amusement.

Blaine looked nervously at his feet and rubbed the back of his neck, blushing. "What gave it away?"

The boy just smiled. "It's pretty obvious you aren't interested. Also, my name's Justin."

He gave a small wave and walked down the hall. Blaine smiled to himself, he was definitely in deep with Kurt. Kurt! He needed to find Jeff. Hopefully he had found him. He took off the opposite way that Justin had gone, following his bodyguard's scent.

"And this is where our vampire Pilates class is held. Elder Campbell is an amazing teacher."

After Kurt refused to sign Elliott's contract, Elliott had taken Kurt on a tour of the rather large community center to entice him. It was actually clean and decently decorated, having a decidedly homey feel.

"So, you want me to join?" Elliott nodded. "Even if I'm gay?"

Kurt wasn't afraid to ask that straight out. He had his fill of people being homophobic or even deeming him unworthy of any sort of human decency. It was a fair question. Elliott waved him off.

"We don't care about that sort of thing. We have much bigger issues than orientation. If it would make you feel better, I'm gay," he said delightfully. "But I'm not hitting on you! Please don't mention I said anything in the survey."

"Survey?"

"We will email it to you later," Elliott offered.

"Wait! How did you get my email?"

Elliott laughed in an almost superior manner. "Oh hon, we know pretty much everything about you." He pulled out a manila file folder with Kurt's name on it and opened it, clearing his throat before reading. "Turned at age eight by a rouge vampire. You lost your mother at the same time, may she rest in peace. Your father Burt Hummel, has been taking care of you." He snapped the folder closed. "Although I don't know how he's been getting you blood," Elliott said, stroking his chin curiously.

"From the hospital. It's expired blood they were going to throw away," Kurt supplied. He hoped his dad wouldn't get into trouble for that.

Elliott scrounged up his face in disgust. "How… nice of him. Just wait until you see the blood bars! They'll rock your world."

That got Kurt's attention. "Blood bars? What are those?"

Elliott perked up at the question. "They are legal places you can drink blood from willing donors. You can even drink a specific blood type if you're into that. Also, all the donors are screened for drugs and illness, so they are completely safe."

"Wait? People actually let you drink from them? Like, willingly?"

Elliott nodded. "Oh yes! It can be quite pleasurable for both parties. It may not be for everyone, but I've heard plenty of people enjoy it." He grinned at Kurt before stopping them. "So, what do you say? Ready to join?"

Kurt shifted nervously from one foot to the other. This was all so new and sudden and he wasn't even sure he could trust Elliott. He needed to take some time to sort through all this information. He also probably needed to talk to his dad first.

"Can I think about it?"

Elliott nodded, never losing that ever-present smile. "Of course! Take your time. But not too much time, pottery classes are starting soon and you want to get a good spot!" Kurt gave him a careful nod. "Oh! I took the liberty of programming my name and number into your phone. But it can also be found in your packet!"

"How did you get this photo of me? Is this from my Facebook?"

That seemed to remind Elliott of something. "Oh yes! We have a Facebook group, called the Lima Coven of Ohio, feel free to join! Until you are ready, feel free to call or text me anytime! Think of me as your cool big brother or mentor!"

Kurt looked exasperated. "Remind me why you couldn't just invite me here instead of kidnapping me?"

Elliott frowned. "Sorry, but I didn't want to stick around Dalton too long. It's werewolf territory. And I wasn't sure you would come with me otherwise."

Kurt was about to argue that he was reasonable and scaring him senseless had not been warranted, but a different word snagged his interest. "Werewolves are real?" he asked.

"Oh yes. We have a complicated past with them. The distrust goes back hundreds of years, though no one really knows why. Oh! I have some books that could tell you more!"

Elliott pulled out several books from his bag. Kurt accepted them and read over the titles: This Bites! I Think I Just Became a Vampire!, Oops! I've Made a Mis-stake: A Vampire's History of Being Misunderstood, and I Suck! A Guide to Vampire Depression. These books reminded Kurt of a certain guidance councillors pamphlets. Feeling a tad overwhelmed, he accepted them and Elliott led him to his car so he could drive to Dalton.

Wes stood in Blaine's room, waiting for his friend to return with what he hoped would be good news about finding a partner. He was working on some assignments when David came in. He looked around the room.

"Blaine's not here yet. What did you find out?" Wes asked and David quickly came over to the table.

"Okay, not gonna lie, I feel kind of sleazy for digging into Kurt's records, but I found something."

Wes' eyes glinted with hope. "What?" He urged his friend to continue.

David took a breath before beginning. "Okay, so you know he transferred to Dalton mid semester? I always found that strange, but it's not uncommon. Until I looked at why he transferred." Wes motioned for more. "There's nothing on his permanent record, but there was a written account that involved him. So this kid at his old school, Karofsky, apparently got into a physical confrontation with an unknown person and by confrontation, I mean he was beaten so bad he had to go to the hospital. When the confrontation was heard, a teacher ran in the locker room where it was going down only to find an unconscious Karofsky and Kurt crying in the corner."

"Wait, if they were the only two in there, so why does he not have anything on his record?"

"I'm getting there!"

Wes rolled his eyes, but listened carefully when David continued.

"They thought it was suspicious that they were the only two in the room, but they couldn't really find anything to point to Kurt being responsible. He was smaller than Karofsky, he wasn't really fit, and plus he was crying in a corner. They didn't suspend him or anything, but his father pulled him out anyway. Plus, the Karofsky kid refused to say who beat him up."

Wes scratched his jaw. "That doesn't make any sense. Why would he get pulled out if they didn't think he did anything? Also who did beat the kid up?"

David smiled. "Oh Wes, you do not have the detective mind that I do. The answer is obvious."

Wes deadpanned at his friend. "And what is that, Sherlock?"

"Kurt is a vampire."

Wes scoffed. "No way. Kurt?"

David nodded slowly. "Dear Watson, consider the evidence. He is found being the only plausible culprit in a physical altercation with a much larger student. His dad suddenly pulls him from McKinley out of nowhere, he is always in no less than three layers even inside where it's warm, he barely eats, he as pale as a white wall, and he's doing a load of school work that would be impossible to keep up with and maintain a healthy sleep schedule." David ticked each point off on his hands.

Wes didn't want to admit it, but the pieces did seem to slot into place. "But he doesn't even look like a vampire." Wes shuffled around in his bag before producing a book that had a caricature of a stereotypical vampire with the title, Vampires: The Enemy of Anyone Who Wants Their Blood Left Where It's At. "He doesn't even have a widow's peak!"

David shrugged. "Apparently they don't have to have those. Who would've guessed?"

Wes accepted it. He had to. David was very thorough and he had to admit that it was plausible. Kurt was definitely a vampire. Before they could say anything else, Jeff strolled in followed by a harried Blaine who was followed by Nick.

"Jeff?" Blaine asked the blond. He sighed and shook his head. He hadn't found anything.

"Sorry, Blaine. There's no sign of him." Jeff shrugged sadly. "I looked everywhere."

Blaine was obviously agitated. "Just keep looking, please." Jeff and Nick looked at each other, then nodded at Blaine and took off. David passed by Blaine and laid his hand on the boy's shoulder, giving him a sympathetic smile before exiting the room as well. Blaine was shuffling around nervously when Wes spoke up from his perch on the corner of his desk.

"How was the business meeting?"

Blaine looked over in Wes' direction and sighed. "It wasn't great. Called him by the wrong name again."

Wes sighed.

"Blaine, we've talked about the name thing! I even wrote it on your hand!"

Blaine looked down at his hand and indeed there was a smudge of a name. He only shrugged and went to go out the door, no doubt to help search for Kurt, but Wes stopped him.

"Blaine wait! I need to talk to you."

Blaine had stopped a step away from the door. "What? Hurry up, I need to help Jeff and Nick," Blaine said anxiously while trying to see out the window.

"Listen, it's about Kurt."

Blaine groaned. "Look, can we not discuss this right now? I get it, we are Romeo and Juliet and we can't be together, but he's still my best friend and he's missing! I need to help look for him."

"It's not that. I know you consider him your best friend, but the fact is he's not been telling you the truth," Wes said simply.

"What are you talking about? Kurt wouldn't lie to me!" Blaine furrowed his brow.

"He's not lying, just not telling you the whole story. He's a vampire, Blaine."

Blaine snorted and started laughing. Wes looked serious though.

"Kurt? A vampire? No way! That is what a vampire looks like." Blaine pointed to the book Wes had laid on the table. "Kurt doesn't have a widow's peak."

"Apparently they can look like normal people."

Blaine frowned. Wes wasn't making a joke. He was serious. "Look, I know your on the anti-Kurt train, but there isn't any reason to lie about him being a vampire."

"I'm not lying Blaine! Does a 'normal' kid put a much larger football player in the hospital?"

That caught Blaine's attention.

"What?"

Wes looked at Blaine like he felt sorry for him. At least he wasn't taking relish in sharing this news with him.

"Kurt was involved in an incident. It was never proven that Kurt played a part in it, but we all know how bad a pissed off vamp can be."

Blaine didn't want the pieces to be fitting together, but they were. Wes laid out all the reasons David had given him. It had to be true.

"But Kurt would have told me." Blaine was sure Kurt would have told him something that important. He felt sick that his best friend had kept something that huge from him. It was like an unexpected blow. "He wouldn't ever hurt anyone..."

"Well, you never told him about being a werewolf." Wes stated, but Blaine didn't hear him. His mind was too busy reeling. Suddenly he caught a whiff of Kurt's scent. He was back on campus. Before Wes could say anything else, Blaine was out the door.

Kurt stood with Elliott at the front gates of Dalton. Elliott handed over a thick packet of assorted papers and pamphlets. He also handed him an ID badge to the coven's building.

"Here's all your information we talked about and your ID badge!"

Kurt accepted it with a frown. He was still a little annoyed they had his picture and basically knew every little detail of his life. It was very invasive. And Elliott seemed way too enthusiastic about his job.

"Thanks," he mumbled.

Elliott smiled widely. "Remember, call or text me if you need any support, anytime! Because we don't sleep!" He gave a little laugh before hugging Kurt lightly and left, mumbling something about werewolves as he went back to his car.

Kurt looked down at all his new pamphlets and sighed. Today was weird. He made his way back through the gate and saw none other than Blaine standing waiting for him. Kurt initial reaction was happiness to see him, but then he remembered everything and felt hurt and upset.

"Hey, Kurt. Where have you been?" Blaine asked suspiciously.

Kurt raised an eyebrow, but just kept walking as Blaine fell into step beside him. They hadn't spoken since the ill fated walk and this felt awkward. Blaine wasn't smiling or taking his arm like normal. Although, he wasn't sure he wanted him to. He was still mad. Okay, so maybe he wanted him to. Ugh.

"Just… out." Kurt really didn't want to talk to Blaine about what had happened at the moment. Even though he always wanted to talk to him. He needed to get everything clear in his head first.

"With that guy?" Blaine sounded almost accusatory.

Kurt stopped and turned to him. "Yeah, so what?" Kurt clutched the packet a little tighter.

"Who is he?" Blaine was acting like he was upset, but trying to hide it.

"He's my… friend." Kurt didn't really know how to explain a vampire coven rep in human terms. He was already worried about his relationship with Blaine as it is, but if he found out Kurt was a vampire? He would probably run for the hills.

"I bet he's your friend."

Kurt narrowed his eyes at him. He didn't like the way the way Blaine said friend. "We were just talking."

"I bet you were talking." Blaine knew he was being maybe a little ridiculous, but he couldn't help it. Kurt just looked annoyed.

"Calm down, psycho! He's just a friend. Also, why do you even care who I hang out with when you didn't seem to care to see me these past couple days?" Kurt spat, putting a little more heat in the words then he had meant to.

Blaine blanched at that. "Of course I care about you! You're my best friend!" He said it quietly. Kurt felt a surge of happiness, but he quickly remembered that all he would ever be is his best friend. He would be forced to smile and listen while he talked about his relationship with someone else. He would have to stand by him as he got married. It all hurt too much. He pushed past Blaine and started walking again.

"Best friends usually don't avoid one another."

"I wasn't avoiding you..." Just the situation... Blaine added mentally. "I have been busy."

"Mhm." Yeah, Kurt definitely wasn't buying it.Blaine followed beside him.

He wasn't entirely sure that Kurt was a vampire. It was just too much. He would have figured it out by now. He debated with himself before leaning over discreetly as he could and smelled him. Kurt had always smelled of vanilla and lavender due to the products he used, but under that he could smell what must have been Kurt's true scent. A smokey, honey smell with a hint of something else. Copper.

Kurt looked over and stopped. "Are…are you smelling me right now?"

Blaine stepped back. "No."

Kurt narrowed his eyes, but shook his head and continued toward his dorm. Blaine knew he needed one more conformation. He grabbed Kurt by the wrist and stopped him. Kurt twisted back towards him, surprised. Where was it? Blaine froze. He couldn't feel a pulse.

Kurt looked at him, a small blush creeping on his face. "Um Blaine? What is it?"

Blaine let go of his wrist. He looked at Kurt with a careful expression. "Nothing, let me… let me walk you to your room."

The hope on Kurt's face flickered and he looked away from Blaine.

They walked in silence until they got to Kurt's dorm. Kurt didn't know what to say at this point. Blaine was deep in thought.

"Well, thanks for walking me back," Kurt offered.

Blaine looked up and smiled slightly. "Yeah." Kurt went to close the door but stopped when he heard Blaine's next words. "I'll be here in the morning. Breakfast."

Kurt nodded. "Bye Blaine."

"Goodbye Kurt."
