"Whoa!" gasped Yukari one evening. "You've managed to clean the entire kitchen? The filthiest room in our house?"
"Yeah, it wasn't TOO hard," Tohru said while holding onto a rice cooker.
"Huh? You found a rice cooker?"
"I managed to dig it out."
"So, do you like it?" Tohru asked the eating Yukari.
"...Amazing! I've haven't had a meal like this in a LONG time!" admired the silver-haired girl. "Shizuka and that idiot Cat sire are late. Where'd they go?"
"You ALSO went out for a while, right?"
"As a matter of fact, I DID; I went to my secret base in the backyard and—"
*SLIDE*
"SHUT UP!" Kyomi screamed as she entered the house.
"Just listen, Kyomi!" demanded Shizuka right behind her.
"No! You set me up!"
"This is for your own good!"
"Um, g-good evening, you two," said Tohru nervously. "Would you like some—"
"NO!" the Sohma punk screamed as she stormed into the house.
"Hey, don't yell at Tohru-chan! And NO shoes in the house," Shizuka said as she took off her shoes before entering the house. "Oh, food's ready?"
"Uh...what's wrong with Kyomi-san?" asked the Sohma housekeeper.
"Well, I tricked her into taking a school transfer exam. Starting tomorrow, she'll be transferring to YOUR school," the elder Sohma explained. "You see, Kyomi passed the exam for a girls' high school near her place, but she never went to school...and disappeared four months later. She been spending her training in the mountains...to defeat Yukari-chan. They've been rivals since they were kids."
"*SIGH* She's an idiot," Yukari said as she got up and walked away. "Thanks for the food."
"Why does Kyomi-san hate Sohma-chan so much?" thought the housekeeper. "Is it because she was tricked like in the story? Either way, I think it's best I don't ask. And I think Kyomi-san already hates me...it kinda makes me feel sorry for her. I just met the Cat of the Zodiac, and yet..."
The next day at school...
"Holy shit!"
"Check out the girl!"
"Orange hair!"
"She's SO hot!"
"Are you Sohma-chan's cousin!"
"How close are you two?"
A bunch of boys had gathered around Kyomi to admire him, making the new transfer student blush as she sat in her seat.
"She seems scared," Tohru said as she watched on with Ayumu and Sato.
"Hey, Yukari-chan, aren't you gonna introduce us to your cousin who just transferred here?" asked one of the boys.
"Sorry, Senpai, but we're not really THAT close," said Yukari. "I don't really SPEAK to her that often."
"You know, I think her hair color is pretty neat. It reminds me of Kyoko-san," said Ayumu.
"Oh, yeah. I never really noticed," said Tohru.
"I feel the same waves...as Sohma Yukari's," said the goth boy. "But...what are they? They're...not human..."
*SLAM*
"I CAN'T STAND THIS SHIT ANYMORE!" Kyomi got up and began stomping away.
"Hey! Wait!" One of the boys grabbed Kyomi's arm.
"WHA—!" On instinct, the punk girl grabbed that boy...
*FLIP* *THUD*
...and restrained him by the arm.
"AHH! OW! STOP! LET GO!" cried the boy.
"WHOA!" cried another boy.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" cried another.
"SHUT UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE!" Kyomi jumped out the window and ran off, leaving the admiring boys astonished.
"*PANT* *PANT* *PANT* *PANT*" After losing the boys, the orange-haired punk took a seat.
"Hey!"
Looking up, Kyomi saw her cousin glaring down at her.
"Don't you ever think before you act?" Yukari asked.
"How can you actually go to a damn school crawling with boys everywhere?" the Sohma punk asked. You're a crazy bitch!"
"Well, I like it better that going to Akito's chosen girls' school. I just wanna get out of the Sohma cage. I don't understand why you would wanna STAY in that stupid cage."
"SHUT UP! Someday, I'll beat you! And then, I'll FINALLY become a full-fledged member of the Sohma family!"
Tohru suddenly arrived to see Kyomi preparing to attack Yukari once again. "NO! STOP!" Rushing in, he hugged the Cat-possessed girl...
*HUG*
*POOF*
...accidentally turning her into the Cat. "I-I'm sorry!" said Tohru nervously. "It's just that fighting isn't really right. And i-if you keep fight, you'll—"
"SHUT UP!" screamed the orange Cat. "ALL I GIVE A SHIT ABOUT IS BEATING THE RAT-BITCH! SO, STAY OUTTA MY WAY! GET THE HELL OUTTA MY SIGHT, ASSHOLE!"
"*GASP*" After a few seconds of frozen silence, and without a second thought, Tohru got up and walked away in shock. "It's official...she HATES me...PERMANENTLY..."
Kyomi sat in shock at what she just said.
"*SIGH* I'm outta here," Yukari said as she walked away.
"Wait, you're NOT gonna hit me again?" asked the orange Cat.
"...Sometimes, it hurts more when somebody is NOT hit..."
"Kyomi, I heard you skipped school on your first day," said Shizuka.
"I...I don't want to live here anymore," Kyomi sighed as she laid on the ground.
"After three days? Just suck it up and think of this as a form a training to control your rage."
"...But I'm always saying mean stuff to him."
"You mean Tohru-kun?"
"I just can't do it. I don't know how to live with other people."
"You'll learn. It's called 'experience'."
"Here's an analogy: You can break a table with ONE punch, but you can pull it back just before it lands; it's very equivalent to getting along with other people. You should interact with them, HURT them, GET hurt by them, LEARN about them...and YOURSELF; otherwise, you'll never be capable of true empathy. Just keep training, face your fears, and someday, you'll meet a boy who will LOVE you...AND whom you can treasure."
"*SCOFF* That'll NEVER happen."
"...And what will happen if there IS?"
"*SIGH* Maybe I can ask her how CRAZY she is..."
*SLIDE*
"I'm home," Yukari said as she entered the room.
"Welcome home. Where's Tohru-kun?"
"Work. She'll be working late, so I walked home by myself."
Later that night, Tohru finished work and began walking home. "*SIGH* I STILL can't get over what Kyomi-san said. I really DID want to become the Cat instead of the Dog. No! What am I saying? I CAN'T get discouraged. Mom told me to be me!"
*STEP* *STEP* *STEP* *STEP* *STEP* *STEP* *STEP* *STEP*
Just then, the brown-haired boy froze in his feet at the sound of stepping growing louder from behind. "Uh oh...could it be...those 'stalkers' everybody's been talking about!" he thought is fear. "GET BACK!"
*WHACK*
Tohru quickly hit the "stalker" in the head...only to discover that it was only Kyomi; Kyomi turned around and—
"NO! WAIT! KYOMI-SAN! IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK! I-I-I JUST MISTOOK YOU FOR A 'STALKER'! PLEASE DON'T WALK AWAY! I—"
"Drop it! I don't like being called '-san' by you. So, just drop it."
"Okay...uh, Kyomi...-chan?"
"What?"
"Nothing, just testing the name."
"Well, DON'T say my name if you don't NEED any—no, you know what? Nevermind. You can call me by my name, even if you don't need anything, and I don't mind if you hang around where I can see you, and if I ever make you upset again, you can hit me again...or...or even RAPE me (not that I'd expect you to)."
"...Wait...is she...trying to apologize? Is THAT why she came out here...?" thought Tohru. "I...I'm terribly sorry! It's all a misunderstanding. I only hit you because I thought you were a stalker!"
"'S-Stalker'?!"
"In fact, my favorite Zodiac is the Cat! I swear! I wanted to change my year to the Cat! W-What I mean is...I'D REALLY LIKE TO BE FRIENDS!"
Kyomi soon gave a shocked look and remembered...
"...And what will happen if there IS?"
"...I...ugh, forget that shit!" Kyomi yelled as she stormed off. "The Year of the Cat SUCKS!"
"Huh? Maybe I'm starting to understand Kyomi-chan more. She seems violent on the OUTside, but I'm sure she's gentle on the INside. She knows what apologizing feels like...and she seems like an honest person."
"Aw, you almost stalked Tohru-kun? You slutty little bitch..." Shizuka laughed at Kyomi during dinner.
"W-WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?!" Kyomi screamed.
"Hey, Tohru-kun, did you know that Kyomi-chan offered to walk you home from work?"
"Never HAVE! Never WILL! YOU GOT THAT?!" the orange-haired punk yelled at Tohru.
"Oh, o-okay," said Tohru nervously. "But it DOES make me happy seeing you eating a proper meal? What do you think? Do you like it?"
Kyomi stayed silent, but then noticed Yukari looking at him suspiciously. "What?!"
"Nothing," the silver-haired girl claimed.
"Don't 'nothing' me! You were staring at me!"
"No, I was just LOOKING at you."
"But you had a reason for doing it!"
"So, you don't like my cooking?" Tohru asked Kyomi.
"DAMN STRAIGHT!" Kyomi's shouting suddenly silenced the entire room...
"*SIGH* You're STILL an idiot," Yukari sighed.
"I-I'm sorry," said Tohru sadly. "I'll try to make it better next time..."
