Two Frosty Brothers And The Singer
Deep in the caves of the To'Kustar Brothers, blonde teen Lea Thompson just came sliding down from the secret passage to test out something. She already got permission from Miss Rachel about using the caves, considering Way Big and Ultimate Way Big are out on a mission. And no one should be around to disturb her secret project.
"This is perfect, Nightlight. We have the best place to practice my music," Lea said, climbing down the bed to prep herself. "And best of all, we don't have to worry about anyone starring at me while performing."
Nightlight gave an uncertain look, as if telling Lea in whether singing alone is the best way to go.
"Come on, you know I'm not ready to sing in front of people. I get petrified and make a fool of myself," Lea explained, tuning her guitar. "Besides, ever since our family reunion hangout during the Fourth of July, we found out I can create blue dreamsand that is not different from the Sandman's power. I have to know what sets it off and what else I'm capable of doing. And the best way to do that is re-enacting my musical performance to find any new changes."
Although still doubtful, Nightlight accepted his friend's wishes and let her continue, sitting on her bag nearby to watch her play.
"All right…here I go…," Lea muttered to herself, closing her eyes to focus before strumming her guitar on the tune she wanted to play.
Up in the house, Big Chill and his brother had just arrived and both were frustrated. "It seems no matter what we do, there are still people terrified of us and aliens and general and won't even try to accept aliens," the blue moth alien said.
"I know, right?" Ultimate Big Chill said with a sigh.
Just then, they heard something that made them pause. "What's that?" Big Chill asked.
"Sounds like music," his brother said as they heard a voice singing and it was very soothing. "And someone is singing it. Someone here at the Mansion."
They looked around before Big Chill noticed the music seemed to come from the tunnel leading to the To'kustars' room. "Brother, I think the person is in Way Big and Ultimate Way Big's room," he said.
"Hmm," the red Necrofriggian hummed. "Let's go find this mysterious singer."
The two headed down stairs, phasing through the floors and coming upon a sight that amazed them.
A teen girl with curly blonde hair had her eyes closed as she strummed a guitar and was singing, making her bracelet glow and her blue dreamsand surround her in a mesmerizing effect and even creating what looked to be either people or animals in the flowing sand. "Wow," Ultimate Big Chill said in awe.
Hearing that, Lea jumped, surprised and the dreamsand went away as she saw two aliens in front of her. She recognized them to be Necrofriggians, aliens that looked like giant moths and had green eyes, at least from what she had read in one of Katherine's many books. Her face turning red as she realized they had heard her singing, Lea quickly grabbed her bag and Nightlight and began running.
"Wait!" She heard one of them call out to her, but she kept running. She let out a small shriek at seeing the blue one rise up from the floor in front of her and she quickly dodged, ducking as the red one reached out to catch her after phasing through the wall, but he missed and she kept running, finding a spot to hide and ducking down.
She then saw Nightlight was glowing and she gasped. "Sorry, Nightlight," she said, carefully putting him in her bag so that she wouldn't be found out right away. While she was amazed that she was seeing two Necrofriggians, which she hoped were part of Rachel's family, she was embarrassed and shy that they had caught her singing. She was really shy about others knowing that she could sing.
Big Chill and Ultimate Big Chill looked around. "Where could she be?" The former asked.
"I don't know," the latter said before looking curious. "You know, she had a different reaction than what we usually get."
"What do you mean, bro? She ran away from us," Big Chill said.
"Yes, but she seemed embarrassed too," Ultimate Big Chill pointed out. "Like we had startled her or she didn't realize someone was in the house. She's a bit scared, yes, but I think she's mostly just embarrassed that she was caught singing."
"But why?" His brother asked. "It was beautiful."
"Maybe she's got a bit of stage fright," the older Necrofriggian said thoughtfully as he spotted a shoe peeking out from behind some large boards and he motioned to his brother, who nodded as he saw the shoe too and they moved closer, finding the girl hiding there and she gasped as she looked up at them, trapped as the boards blocked her in the back and the two aliens blocked her escape too. "Well, there she is."
The blue Necrofriggian chuckled. "Not the best place for singing, young one," he said, reaching out a hand to her.
Lea scooted back and was about to transform into Hope the Pooka to escape when Nightlight climbed out of her bag and to her shock, he went up to the two Necrofriggians, who blinked in awe and surprise at seeing him. "What's this?" The red one asked, reaching out and picking up Nightlight gently.
"Please don't drop him!" Lea pleaded, surprising them. "Please. He's very precious to me," she explained, her voice and face fearful that her friend would be damaged.
"We'll be careful with him," the blue alien promised her.
Nightlight waved to the two, smiling. They smiled back. "Hello," the red one said, carefully examining the wooden toy. "Interesting. He's like a toy soldier that can move freely on his own."
"Reminds me of the Nutcracker story," the blue one said, chuckling.
The teen was surprised by this, but saw they were being careful with Nightlight and the wooden toy seemed alright around them. She noticed the red alien looking at her and he smiled. "The floor's not very comfortable there," he said, holding out a hand for her to take. "It's okay. My brother and I won't hurt you."
"We were drawn down here by your singing," the blue alien said, smiling. "You have a lovely voice."
Lea blushed from his praise, to which they chuckled. "Will you come out from there so we can properly meet you, kiddo?" The red alien asked her, still holding his hand out.
"We promise we won't hurt you," his brother said, also holding out a hand to the girl.
Lea looked at them and at the outstretched hands before looking at Nightlight, who was still being held by the red alien. The wooden toy waved to her and smiled, further reassuring her that it was alright. Taking a deep breath, she slowly reached out, placing her hands in their own, just managing to hide a wince at how cold their touch was before feeling cold fingers wrap around her own with the utmost gentleness before she allowed them to pull her away from her hiding spot. "There we go," the red Necrofriggian soothed her, letting go of her hand and stroking her head in a gentle manner. She flinched a little from the cold, but didn't run.
"Shh, don't be afraid," the blue Necrofriggian soothed, giving her other hand a gentle squeeze. "What's your name?"
She took another deep breath, seeing they were nice and she doubted Rachel would let evil aliens in the house. "I'm Lea," she said. "Lea Thomspon."
"Lea?" The red alien asked before smiling. "My goodness. We've heard so much about you from our nephew and the rest of our family."
"You have?" She asked.
"Of course," the blue alien said, also smiling. "My name is Big Chill and that's my brother, Ultimate Big Chill."
"But you can call me Rojo," Ultimate Big Chill said. "That's my nickname."
Lea blinked. "Rojo?" She asked curiously.
"It means 'red' in Spanish," Big Chill said helpfully. "Rachel gave my brother that nickname when he joined the family and it stuck."
Lea smiled before seeing Nightlight smile at her. "Nightlight, have you met these two before?" She asked.
He gave a 'so-so' hand motion. "You've seen them around, but hadn't met them yet?" She deduced.
He nodded and the two aliens smiled. "That's incredible," Ultimate Big Chill said. "How is he able to move without strings or mechanical pieces? He's completely made of wood."
"It's my bracelet and my belief in the Guardians of Childhood," Lea explained, pointing to her bracelet. "Nightlight's not just my closest friend, but also my Guardian of Courage."
Big Chill smiled. "And just when we thought we had seen it all," he chuckled.
Lea cocked her head curiously and he smiled. "We're familiar with magic as we have many family members that are magical," he said. "We never would have known about magical beings if we hadn't met Rachel so long ago."
Ultimate Big Chill smiled and nodded. "By the way, Lea, we apologize for startling you when you were signing," he said apologetically. "We didn't mean to scare you."
"We were just amazed by your singing," Big Chill admitted. "I don't suppose we could ask you to sing more for us, could we?"
Lea blushed. "Well...," she trailed off, looking very shy and looking away, not seeing the brothers look at each other in confusion at her behavior until the red Necrofriggian got an idea and chuckled.
"Oh, I see," he said, setting Nightlight gently before moving closer to Lea, wrapping his arms around her in a hug. "That's why you ran. You're shy about your singing."
"You shouldn't be," Big Chill said gently. "You have a lovely voice. In fact, your singing was actually helping us to calm down. We had a rough day at work."
Lea blinked. "Oh," she said softly.
The red Necrofriggian gently brushed a bit of Lea's hair out of her face. "Lea, would you sing for us again, please?" He asked. "My brother wasn't lying about your singing helping us to calm down earlier."
She looked at him. "You...You guys really liked my singing?" She asked.
He nodded. "Please, Lea?" He asked again, giving her a hopeful look.
She bit her lip. "I...I haven't really performed in front of too many people," she admitted.
"It's okay," he soothed. "It'll just be the two of us."
"We're not going to tease you or make fun of you, okay?" Big Chill promised.
She nodded, knowing they wouldn't do that. "Well...if you guys are okay with it...," she trailed off.
"Of course we are."
Taking a deep breath, she nodded and went back to the room with them, where she grabbed her guitar and after a moment, she began strumming it, opening her mouth to sing 'Gales Of Song'. The two aliens were once again amazed and mesmerized by both the song and their friend's singing.
Lea finished 'Gales Of Song', to which the brothers clapped before the girl began singing 'Lend Me Your Voice'. As she did, the blue dreamsand the two aliens had seen before came around the girl and to their surprise, it began changing her outfit into one that looked similar to them. "Whoa," Ultimate Big Chill said in surprise.
Lea opened her eyes and gasped to see her new outfit, which was a white and blue dress that looked very similar to the Necrofriggians' wings when they wrapped their wings around themselves, minus the hood. "Did...Did I do that?" She asked.
"I think you did," Big Chill said in awe. "And it looks amazing."
"I agree," Ultimate Big Chill said. "And your bracelet is glowing."
She looked to see he was right before she finished the song and her clothing went back to normal as the dreamsand vanished and her bracelet went back to normal again. "Wow," she said. "I didn't know I could do that," she admitted before gasping as she felt Ultimate Big Chill's arms come around her and his hands rested on her stomach.
"Come here, you," the red Necrofriggian said playfully as he felt mischievous right then. He looked at his brother. "You get her feet. I'll get her stomach."
The teen began squirming, giggling as she felt the red alien playfully poke her sides. "Eeek! Nohohohohohoho!" She giggled out.
"Wow, she must really be ticklish if she's in a fit of giggles just from that," Big Chill said, pouncing on the girl's feet and carefully removing her shoes and socks, tucking her ankles under one arm. She tried to pull away from him, but the hold on her ankles was unmovable. She squeaked again as she felt her arms being gently held behind her back and something was tied around her wrists. She panicked a little bit, but noticed that whatever was around her wrists was stretchy.
"There. That will hold for a bit," Ultimate Big Chill said before looking at Lea, seeing she was giggling and trying to pull her hands free, but he playfully poked her ribs, making her squeak. "Well, well. More than one ticklish spot, hmm?" He asked, tickling her neck now and making her scrunch up her shoulders to protect her neck. "Oh, we're going to make you laugh yourself silly," he said before he and his brother began the tickle attack.
Lea was in stitches as Big Chill tickled her feet all over his with his fingers and Ultimate Big Chill carefully untucked Lea's shirt and lifted it up to the bottom of her ribcage, leaving her stomach and belly button exposed. "Cootchie, cootchie, coo!" The red alien cooed before blowing a giant raspberry right over the girl's belly button.
The teen lost it and laughed like no tomorrow. "NOOHOHOHOHOHO! THAHAHAHAT TIHIHIHIIHIICKLES!" She laughed out, trying to squirm away, but she was trapped, squealing when a few fingers began tickling her toes and right underneath them while a finger wiggled around in her belly button, making her squeal again.
"Aww, listen to that laughter," Big Chill said, smiling.
"And look at her laughing face," Ultimate Big Chill said with a chuckle. "She's as cute as our nieces."
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! STOHOHOHOHOHOP!" Lea pleaded, unable to escape, though she did try.
Way Big and Ultimate Way Big, who had just arrived home from their mission, smiled as they came upon the scene in the hallway of the two Necrofriggians tickling the teenage girl, who was laughing her head off and squirming. Chuckling quietly, the two giant aliens began recording the cute moment, chuckling again as Lea squealed her loudest when both brothers blew raspberries into her stomach at the same time.
It's like having two Jack Frosts tickle me! She thought to herself though her laughter as the two continued the playful attack, alternating from gentle pokes to wiggling their fingers into her tickle spots. Their cold hands made the tickle torture worse and Lea could feel tears starting to build up in her eyes.
"Her laughter is as beautiful as her singing," Big Chill said.
"That it is," his brother said before seeing the gir had had enough. "Alright, let her up, bro. We can tickle her more later."
Nodding in agreement, the two Necrofriggians stopped, freeing Lea, who lay on the floor taking some deep breaths to recover. "Lea? Are you okay?" Ultimate Big Chill asked.
She nodded. "I'm good," she managed to say.
"I'll get you some water," Big Chill promised and headed out.
Chuckles filled the air and Ultimate Big Chill and Lea looked up to see it was Way Big and his brother. "Well this is a cute sight to come home to," the bigger giant said, gently scooping up Lea into his hand. She snuggled into his hand trustingly, knowing he wouldn't drop her.
"What's up, Lea?" Way Big asked.
She smiled. "Well, I came down here to work on something and Big Chill and his brother found me," she said.
"She was singing," Ultimate Big Chill said. "And let me tell you: our Lea has a singing voice like you wouldn't believe."
"She does?" Ultimate Way Big asked in surprise.
Lea blushed. "Well...I do like to sing," she admitted softly.
The three aliens smiled at her shyness and she felt a large finger gently rub her back, to which she smiled up at the giants as Big Chill returned with the promised water, which she took gratefully and smiled. "Thanks," she said.
"Thank you for helping us after a rough day," the blue Necrofriggian said.
Just then, two more people plopped down on the bed. "I was wondering where everyone was," came Rachel's voice as she stood up, helping her niece Megan to her feet. The small child ran towards her uncles happily.
"Uncle Big Chill! Uncle Rojo! Uncle Way Big! Uncle Blue!" The child cried out happily, to which the giants shrunk down and the four aliens hugged the child, all smiling.
Lea looked curious at Ultimate Way Big. "Uncle Blue?" She asked curiously.
He chuckled. "My little sister came up with the nickname Big Blue for me when we were younger," he admitted. "Megan had a hard time saying Uncle Ultimate Way Big, so my sister suggested she call me Uncle Blue."
Rachel smiled. "And it stuck," she said, chuckling.
Lea giggled. "Didn't expect to meet a couple cool new aliens, but I'm glad I did," she said.
The owner of the Grant Mansion smiled at her. "Oh, trust me, there's plenty more aliens here," she said. "Give it a little more time and you'll know more about the planets and stars than your classmates do."
The aliens all laughed at that as it was true and Lea giggled again, her bracelet and Nightlight both glowing with her happiness.
