Chapter 14-Tears
Marshall was helping out Mr. Porter with crates filled with fruit. "Okay, Marshall. This is the last one." He said. "Okay." He said.
Back In Adventure City, Ryder was playing on his Twitch on his Gaming PC he was playing Apex Legends.
Then someone walked in. "Ryder?" Ashley asked. "Hey, Ash. What's up?" Ryder asked. "Hey Ryder, where's Marshall?" Ashley said.
Ryder sighed. "Well... Marshall's missing, Ash. And we don't know where he is... The only place we haven't looked yet is Adventure Bay. I think we're going to go there tomorrow. It's already too late to look for him. We've been searching in the city all day." Ryder said. Looking out into the streets of Adventure City. Cars zooming past them, people driving, or walking home from work.
The pups and Ryder had their dinner. But Chase couldn't eat. He couldn't get what he said to Marshall out of his head; it's been eating at him out of his mind.
Ryder got up and went to bed. Maybe tomorrow they can search for their friend.
The sun rose In Adventure Bay. Marshall woke up first. Mr. Porter and Alex were still in bed, Marshall stared outside the window of the restaurant.
Now he missed everyone and wanted to go home. Marshall sat next to the door. Looking at the cars passing by the restaurant slowly.
Ryder looked at himself in the mirror attached to the door in his room.
He fixed his hair and Pokémon t-shirt. He walked to his closet and opened the doors.
He looked at a black box that said NIKE AIR on it. He crouched down and opened up the box. Ryder picked out the right red and black high top and put it on. The boy tied the shoe. Then he opened the door to his room and went downstairs. Holding the railing so he wouldn't fall.
He walked downstairs carefully. Once he's made it. Ryder went to the kitchen and went to the cabinet to grab a bowl and cereal.
Ryder looked out from the window in the kitchen and smiled. His pups were playing together.
Except for one. Ryder walked to the living room and sat on the couch. He picked up the remote and turned on the T.V he put Nickelodeon on—hopefully, something good was playing.
Well... it was nine AM on a Monday. Everyone was in school. It wasn't. So he changed the channel to Cartoon Network. Nothing good.
Disney Channel maybe? Yes! Ryder saw that Amphibia was on! Ryder ate his cereal as he watched the cartoon.
Alex had called him an hour later. Ryder was outside watching his pups play together. Alex was on FaceTime with him. He clicked accept as he saw him on the screen. "Ryder!" Alex said. Ryder smiled. "Hey, Alex!" He said. "You're awake! You're finally awake!" Alex said. Ryder smiled and laughed. "Yeah, I am! What's up?" Ryder asked.
"I'm good. I just bought Animal Crossing for my switch." Alex said. "Cool! We can play as soon as I get back okay." Ryder said. Referring to the search to find his fire pup. "Okay." He said hanging up. Ryder sighed and walked back inside. Ryder eyed Marshall's pup tag and collar.
When he woke up, His father brought it to him, it was sitting on the kitchen counter.
Ryder walked to it and picked up his collar and looked at the fire emblem and sighed. He hoped he'll be alright.
The PAW Patrol decided to call off the search for now. His father was with them in his Tesla.
Ryder was sitting in the front while the pups were in the back. Ryder had his elbow propped up against the door and his hand rested on his chin as his father drove around the city. The pups were calling out for Marshall but nothing...
Ryder feared the worst. What if Marshall was kidnapped like he was? What if he was hit by a car? But... the worst of the worst crossed Ryder's mind... What if Marshall ran away? Ryder thought of it more and more... alone, cold, hungry, tired, the leader let his imagination get the best of him as he got sadder and lost more hope.
It was getting late. It was already ten at night with nothing. Chris and the PAW Patrol had to do this late because he had work.
Jessica was working at the hospital today so he had to watch over Ash and him. Ash was in the car with them and she was also looking for Marshall with them. "Dad... let's go back home. We can't look for him all night." Ryder said, picking his head up his father nodded as they turned back around.
The door swung open. Ryder walked into his room and closed the door. He put his back to the door. Ryder slid to the floor and put his knees up to his chest and sat there. Ryder couldn't help it...
He had to let his emotions out. It wasn't good bottling it all in. He took out his phone and put on Was I not Good Enough by Omarr, he put his AirPods in and listened to it. Ryder couldn't do it anymore.
He let it out. Tears escaped from his eyes. Ryder, so cool, brave. Heroic, tough. Was broken. Guess all heroes have to cry at some point. Ryder sniffled as he put his head in his arms and just cried it all out.
