Thank you to everyone who has, followed and favorited me and my stories.

A Special thanks to those who leave behind a review.

Thank you, "GirlBook" for your review as well: Yes I instead to do a few seasons of "Riders and Defenders of Berk", maybe Gift of a Night Fury. I have not watched "Race to the Edge" so I will not add that on most likely.

Thank you, "DIKR1229" for your review as well and for writing a section of it; While I will agree with you Erik would normally be Over-Powered, but I do not think he will be too extremely Over-Powered because I am thinking of adding more rouge Hybrids who will oppose Erik and his ideas (ideals).

Thank you, "Rushstar32" for your review; Yes I agree with you.

(Erik's Point of View)

I smiled at Hiccup as he dragged me to the Forge by the hand, making me laugh internally at his eagerness. I could hear Stoick and Gobber laugh at Hiccup and me, but I could not bring myself to be angry at them. The two grown men followed us to the Forge.

It took several minutes to walk down to the Forge, and Hiccup was certainly a chatter-box. He was rambling on and on, but honestly, I thought it was cute. It reminded me of my own kids when they were, well, kids.

I sighed softly as I began to remember my daughter, Victoria, or her nick name, Vicky, and my wife, Lucy. I cannot forget my son Max… I miss them all, especially my wife. I sighed again as I slowed down a little bit.

Hiccup noticed and stopped, and looked at me. He asked me in a concerned voice, "Are you okay, Erik?"

I gave him a small, sad smile and then said softly, "Yeah, I just miss my family." I sighed softly and shook my head as I followed him the rest of the way to the Forge in an awkward silence.

I sighed softly, my good mood gone for the time being. I exhaled slowly through my nose quietly and looked around the area that we were in. I saw that we were near the center of the village. Which sort of makes sense because the Black Smith's was should be in the middle of town since it is essential for everyone to get to it.

I wondered if I would be able to make some black powder. It is reasonably simple… I mean, if I remember correctly, in the "Dragon Riders of Berk" I forget the exact episode number, but Mildew somehow blew up the armory… so they had some sort of explosive… so I am going to guess that, yes, they had black powder, though not gun powder. I would have to imagine that Hiccup was the one that made it… I knew if I made it now, it would not work too well. Somebody could kill Toothless the Night Fury or my Skrill-Night Fury hybrid. I need to think up of a name for him or her… maybe Sparky?

Hiccup slowed down until he stopped in front of the Forge, bringing me to stop as well.

Gobber spoke up from behind as he said, "Welcome to the Forge, Erik!"

I grinned as I turned around and then said to them, "Can you show me how to Forge? Please?" I gave them my best puppy dog eyes, and I could see it working.

Gobber sighed and then said, "Aye, I will. I will teach ya and Hic' to Forge here in the Forge." He smirked and then asked me, "How soon can you start?"

I glanced back at Stoick, and he was already gone. I sighed and pretended to think about it and then answered him by asking him a question, "How soon can you light up the Forge?"

"Ha-ha! I like you, lad!" Gobber exclaimed as he carefully lit the Forge up with a candle and hot embers. He used some sort of grease covered moss and lit it on fire before he set it into the middle of the Forge. Gobber then gently blew on it till it was a good sized blaze that lit the coal on fire.

Gobber said with a smirk, "I showed you a trick on how to start a Forge fire. Next time, you will do it on your own."

I sighed softly and shook my head, amused at him liking him already.

Gobber said, "I believe in learning on the job, but I will give you some help on the first time." He was smiling at me as he said that.

Hiccup smiled and asked, "Is the Forge big enough for all of us?"

Gobber smirked and said, "It is for now, but when y'all grow up, we may need a larger Forge for us all."

Hiccup smiled and hugged Gobber's legs as it was as high as he could reach.

I chuckled softly and said to them, "So how do you forge, quench, and everything else?"

Hiccup bounced over to me and then said to me, "Well first-"

I chuckled softly and then interrupted him by saying, "Do not tell me how you do it. Show me how you do it."

(Line Break)
(Time Skip: Twelve Hours Later)
(Erik's Point of View)

Hiccup and Gobber showed me how to forge a basic dagger. It took the entire day, but I can't help but feel like I enjoyed it. I watched them carefully the whole time. I knew how to forge, but I was not skilled in forging with coal and wood. The coal burns hotter than the propane or the gas. So you had to watch it the whole time, always using the bellow to blow up the coal and keep the coals hot enough to forge with.

We did not have much, if any oil, so they quenched it in water, which has the potential to make the blades brittle and overly rigid, making them easier to break. Adding salt, a lot of salt, to the water slows down the quench a little bit. We forge and cool down things in oil instead of water because water corrodes, and it cools things too fast, which breaks metals by the sudden difference in temperature. The oil absorbs heat better than water, and that protects the metal better.

I sighed softly and shook my head, and asked Gobber, "Hey Gobber, do we have any oil?"

Gobber shook his head and then said, "Sorry, Erik, but we are running low on oil, so we can't forge with that until we get more."

I gave him a slight nod and then asked, "Okay, that makes sense. Do you know when we will get more oil?"

"No, not yet… but I think it should be here within the next couple of months rather than later," Gobber explained to me in a kind tone.

I sighed and gave him a grateful nod, "Thank you, Gobber, for the information."

He yawned and stretched out his back and then said, "Well 'Iccup, I think it's time for you to go to bed."

Hiccup yawned and nodded his head, then said to Gobber, "Good night, Uncle Gobber." He left the Forge leaving Gobber and me alone in the Forge.

I sighed and then yawned quietly.

Gobber gave me a kind smile and asked, "Would you like to bunk with me tonight, or would you rather sleep in the Mead Hall again?"

I paused and then thought about it and then said to him, "Uh, I think I will sleep in the Mead Hall again, this time. I mean tomorrow, I find out who would want to adopt me." I grinned at him excitedly.

To be honest, I am not sure who I want to be adopted by. I know that I do not want to be adopted by Mildew, but the rest are all fair game… except for maybe Spitlout. I do not want to be near Snotlout unless I can put him in his place. I guess that would mean the twins as well; Ruffnut and Tuffnut. I suppose Fishlegs would not be a lousy choice… he is kind, sort of, and I might be able to teach him to stand up for himself.

Then there are Hiccup and Astrid. I could be the brother to Hiccup that he needs and support him in his endeavors, but I could and would do that regardless. I could also help Hiccup with becoming stronger by training him, turning him into a lean, mean fighting machine. I would help give him a backbone. I guess I could stand for being Hiccup's brother.

Last but not least, there is Astrid. I know that she could be a helpful ally in the future, but I do not like her attitude of ignoring Hiccup in the first movie. I also do not want to be with her because I do not want her to see me as anything but a brother. I want to see the Hicstrid ship sail. Though I would not mind being a "Big Brother" to Astrid.

I groaned internally and thought to myself, 'So many options, but I can only choose one. That is not an easy choice to make. I thought harder about it and realized that I could plausibly be adopted by Gobber. That would not be a wrong choice. Nope, that would, in fact, be a pretty good choice. Another choice might be Gothi…

Well, here is the third chapter. I hope that you all liked it!

Please comment on what you think I can do better and what I need to work on.

I understand that I need to work on my pacing and details.

Who would you like to see to adopt Eric, or if he should NOT be adopted?
