Author Note: Well, I guess that now, here I am. Hi, everyone! What you're about to read is a side-story to Michael Weyer' Infinity Crisis. I found the TVTropes page for it and, because I'm a big fan of crossovers and the Multiverse, I became instantly intrigued by it. And because several authors did their own side-stories, I thought "Hey, why not doing my own?". That's what I will do, starting with this one-shot. It's a new challenge for me and I hope y'all will like it! A special shoutout to Mr. Weyer for creating this great little Multiverse and to Marcus S. Lazarus for creating the TVTropes page for it!
Disclaimer: I don't own anything and don't pretend to own anything. You only need to read the main story in order to understand what's going on (and maybe the Inhumans story) since this one happens inside of the Soul Stone.
For the rest, enjoy!
« OK… is this thing recording? Lemme check… of course, it's recording, who am I kidding? I mean, I knew it was but it's the first time I'm doing this, especially in a place like this one, so there's always things that could go wrong. Anyway… so, we're in a sort of forest here. Not exactly sure what it's supposed to be or represent but it's everything we have. I… I'm here since at least four hours straight, I have only taken naps and I'm searching for something to eat. I've asked a bunch of people and they said there is fruits everywhere. With a bit of luck, I think I'll be able to found some in a few minutes. That would be cool. It's why I'm doing this video, I try to not think too much about the fact that I'm hungry so maybe talking will be a good distraction. It's one of the few we can have since everyone is here. Let me tell you, there's… there's so many people here. Half of the population of the entire Multiverse, can you imagine it? I've talked to a-to a lot of people since I arrived. They all have their opinions about the whole thing, but no one seem to be stressed about this place. Mostly, they just miss their loved ones, they wonder if they're alright and I can understand that, of course! Now-hold on, I saw fruits. »
« So, I found a bunch of fruits. Mostly grapes. It's cool, tho, I like grapes. One of my favourite fruits. I also talked to a guy, Captain Toad. Pretty nice guy. He told me he was in search for stars when he disappeared in front of his girl and that he saw at least two members of his former brigade here. They didn't seem too phased by everything, one was sleeping and the other was saying some scientific things. Props to him for being able to listen to that without ending up bored ! But yeah, we talked a bit and then, he went elsewhere. Probably searching for other people in his universe who got dusted. I mean, dozens of people are doing this right now because it's the first thing they thought about. Suddenly being transported here is something so imagine if you were the only person of your universe to be here. I prefer not to think about it… I know what it's like, being alone and all, I lived that for years and years, it's just… yeah, nah, it's shit. Anyway… wait, there's something in the distance… oh, crap. »
« *huff* *huff* Fuck… *huff* *huff* …shit, girl, you're so lame at running… damn, how many those bastards were? Seriously, I've tried counting them but I had to stop, they were too many! Running and screaming and doing stupid shit, as usual. I knew it was about to be different but still… I'm in a cave, right now. I think they're gone. Yeah, I just forgot that this was also something that could happen… hehehehehe… sorry, that was-uh, that was a bit funny, in fact, just thinking about that. Yeah… OK, let's move. »
« So, I think y'all noticed but actually, the sun is very bright here, it's fantastic! Generally, on Earth, I have to wait spring, summer, these seasons… to have sunny days nearly every day. But it's also very chaotic, like… the weather changes very often and… …you know what? I don't want to talk too much about that. »
« Hahahaaaaaa… oh God, this dude was so funny. Y'all, I swear, if it wasn't for the fact that everyone would, y'know, question me about how I'm able to record something on my phone, I would have made a little video with him. Seriously, who would have thought? Y'know, I'm really thinking that it was a good idea. I mean, everything that can make me think about anything else than my current situation is good so of course, it would be a good idea but-hold on… there's Strange' going by. »
« There's things who are in place. Ant-Man, Wasp and Atom just came and started talking with Strange. The ones outside started making their moves. The way I explain it, it sounds like something insignificant but believe me, it's everything but that. In fact, it's just inspiring to see that. People from different universes finally meeting and collaborating after being unaware of each other for so long, there's just so much good things that come out of that, y'know? And yo, I'm not only saying that because I can see all of them and visit them! I just think seeing this is encouraging. It's… yeah, again, it's inspiring. Lucky for me, it was why I'm here. To get inspired. I get that what I'm saying to you doesn't make sense, but… you'll get it. Mark my words, this day is a very important day and y'all are already here to see it! It's the beginning of a new age and I can already feel that it's bright and shiny and full of new things to discover and experience! »
« Mhmh… look at the skyyyy, I'm stiiill heeeere… I'll be ali-iiiiive neext year… I can make sooo-mething gooood, oh, soooo-methiiiiing gooooood… »
If you're confused, don't worry about it, this is not the only piece I've planned for Infinity Crisis. There's a bunch of new universes that I wish to introduce into the story, many of them that can seem unexpected to you but that I like and want to work with. In fact, by the time you'll read this, I'm already working on a new one-shot in order to expand the motives of the character you saw. I will keep her identity a mystery for now but I'll just say: this is not the last you will hear from her!
Oh, also, the song she's singing is Look at the Sky, by Porter Robinson.
