Hello, everybody, Jack of Knaves here coming at you with a rewrite of Star Allies: Right Back At Ya! Yeah, I decided to start over as I wasn't really feeling the gijinka thing anymore. Plus, there were a few things that I think could have been improved from the previous version. Well, let's get started. Also, the Morpho Knight that appears in this story isn't the one from the games. It's the anime universe's counterpart.

Chapter One

Crash Landing

Cappy Town-Hilltop Near Castle Dedede

It was a beautiful day outside in Cappy Town. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming. On days like this, people like Tiffany Ebrum...

...could be found reading a book underneath the shade of a tree.

Tiff, now a young woman of around seventeen, closed her eyes as the dappled light from the tree she leaned against played across the pages of her book. She couldn't help but let out a content sigh. This was exactly what she needed. Just her, a good book, and the soothing wonders of nature.

Even after seven years, the events of the final battle against Nightmare still weighed heavily upon the girl. The near annihilation of Cappy Town, if not all of Dreamland, the complete destruction of the Halberd, and being held prisoner by Nightmare…

To this day, Tiff could vividly remember the fear she felt even being in his presence, let alone being taken prisoner by the wizard. The way her heart had pounded against her chest, being unable to even move or breathe from sheer terror, the wizard's cruel smirk and sinister laughter, and the certainty that she was about to die… it still haunted her own nightmares from time to time.

Tiff couldn't even begin to describe how thankful she was for Kirby, the young Star Warrior who had come crashing out of the sky in a spaceship and had the ability to absorb his enemies and take on their elemental attributes and other abilities by inhaling them.

It was because of Kirby that she could go home to her mother, father, and younger brother. That there was even a home that she could return to. It was because of Kirby that Nightmare was gone for good.

...at least Tiff HOPED he was gone forever...

That aside, in the seven years that had passed since then, quite a bit had changed for Cappy Town. King Dedede, despite all of his barking and blustering, was far less of a threat now that he was unable to order Demon-Beasts from Nightmare Enterprises, although he still tended to get his way and throw his weight around... and he certainly had quite a bit to throw around.

Meta Knight and his squires, Sword and Blade, had left King Dedede's employ, and had built a base for the Galactic Soldier Army and the Star Warriors to use as a training facility and a place to rest during their travels. As a result, Tiff hardly ever saw Meta Knight or even Sword and Blade in town as often, and when she did see him, he was either perched up top of a building overlooking town, watching over the townsfolk, or he was looking for Kirby in order to further his training as a Star Warrior, which had begun in earnest now that Meta Knight no longer served King Dedede.

Meanwhile, Cappy Town itself had grown quite a bit. There was a spaceport now, mostly thanks to the influx of intergalactic tourists and new arrivals coming to Dreamland thanks to her, Tuff, Meta Knight, Knuckle Joe, Sirica, and a number of townsfolk, but mostly Kirby's, role in defeating Nightmare, much to Dedede's chagrin. Speaking of Knuckle Joe and Sirica, they had moved to Cappy Town as well after their final battle with Nightmare, among a number of other folks from all across the Gamble Galaxy who had been displaced by the war.

Opening her eyes, Tiff reached to turn the page of her book, only for a sudden gust of wind to turn the page before she could, quickly picking up into a hearty gust, starting to make her hair blow about.

As though the weather had sensed her dark thoughts, the once bright and sunny day was quickly damped by an abrupt change for the worse. A low rumble akin to thunder rang out, prompting Tiff's gaze to turn to the sky, only to find that there were no sudden storm clouds forming that could make the noise. But, what Tiff did find was a steadily and ominously growing star-shaped rift in the sky. Tiff's eyes widened even further as the rift in the sky let out an even louder rumble as it tore itself open, and a pale blue starship of some kind heaved itself through the hole, its body visibly battered and damaged. The ship barely made it through the rift when it snapped closed with another almighty rumble, nearly severing a backswing oar.

Tiff couldn't tear her eyes away from the spectacle as the damaged spaceship careened towards Whispy Woods before landing with a resounding and slightly fiery crash just outside the forest's edge, tearing up the ground as it slid along it.

The next thing Tiff knew, there was loud screaming and panicking from Cappy Town. Closing her book and standing up, Tiff made a beeline for the town in order to restore calm, keep King Dedede in line, and more importantly, organize efforts to keep any fires from the crash from spreading, lest Whispy Woods catch on fire, and that would lead to all kinds of problems for both Cappy Town and those aboard the spaceship... assuming those onboard the spaceship weren't a problem themselves.

Meanwhile, Onboard The Spaceship...

Magolor, an brown furred alien creature hailing from the planet Halcandra dressed in a garb of blue and white, groaned as alarms and sirens blared all throughout his ship, the Lor Starcutter. His groans weren't the only ones that were echoing throughout the ship however.

"Is everyone okay?" said a female voice belonging to what was decidedly a young human woman with black hair and what seemed to be a large blue paintbrush strapped to her back like a sword. She wore a green, collared smock, a gray skirt that reached to her knees, brown clogs, and a red beret covering some of her dark hair, all of which was slightly damaged and somewhat dirty. This was Adeleine, a gifted artist who had the ability to quite literally bring her art to life whenever her magic paintbrush made contact with the portable easel that she kept with her at all times.

"I'm fine!" said a smaller, younger female voice that belonged to what appeared to be a fairy girl with pink hair wearing a red and white dress carrying what appeared to be a crystal of some kind. This was Ribbon, hero of Ripple Star and guardian of the Crystal Shards.

"Hmph. Like a simple crash in a spaceship can possibly cause someone like me, who has the very shadows and magic at his command, any real harm," said a deep, dark, raspy and somewhat sinister voice belonging to a being that bore an alarming resemblance to Meta Knight, except his armor was black and stone gray, red eyes shone from his mask's eye holes, which had what appeared to be a scar over the left side, and his black cape was tattered and torn. A silver version of Meta Knight's sword, Galaxia , sat in a scabbard at his side. This was Dark Meta Knight, a dark reflection of Dreamland's lone swordsman, Meta Knight, hailing from the Mirror Dimension.

"Speak for yourself, hotshot," another female voice said, belonging to a young woman with bright blue eyes and long pink hair wearing a white business top, tight black pants, and black high heels, as well as a number of high-tech gadgets attached to her belt. This was Susie Haltmaan, the CEO of the Haltmann Works Company.

"My head hurts! And I'm hungry!" said a high-pitched voice from nearby, belonging to a strange being clad in a jester's hat. This was Marx the Jester, who had more than a few screws loose.

"You know where the fridge is!" said Magolor as he pulled himself up and typed on the Lor Starcutter's Master Control Panel. "We need to assess the damage to the Starcutter and figure out where we are... and hope that the natives here are friendly... or that there are natives here... I knew I shouldn't have typed in random coordinates..."

As it turned out, the damage to the Lor Starcutter wasn't too bad, but she certainly wouldn't be flying anywhere until Susie could make the needed repairs, and she couldn't make repairs until she had the needed components. As for where they were...

"Huh. Either the exterior cameras are malfunctioning and playing old footage, or this dimension looks ALARMINGLY similar to Dreamland," said Magolor.

"Huh..." said Adeleine as she looked at the monitors. "There's even an exact copy of King Dedede's castle... hmm?" Adeleine trailed off as she saw what looked like a large crowd heading their way. "Looks like we got a welcoming committee heading our way..."

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go and say hello!" said Magolor as he pressed the button that opened the Lor Starcutter's exterior hatch.

And that's a bingo! Apologies for the temporary deletion, but like I said, I wasn't really feeling the gijinka thing anymore.
