Chapter 12
The BogeyMan watched closely in his small crystal ball that he was holding. He was watching the boy's every move. Tyrone and Matt were his current obsession and he wasn't going to let anything or anyone get in the way. The two boys that visited them were not dangerous. At least they had no affiliation or rather knowledge of the grand scheme of things.
The Mothman on the other hand was also watching him and the BogeyMan knew he was being monitored as well. He just needed to think of something to get close to the boys. And then it hit him. The answer was so simple. He was the BogeyMan. It was said that they made potions out of nothing. He just needed to think of something clever.
At the beach, Tyrone and Matt arrived with the jars of salt. Tyrone had them in his backpack and they met the other two boys there.
Gannon was taking selfies and posing comically in front of the chubby squirrels that lived in the rocks in front of the beach while Garret was setting up his small camera.
"You guys made it! Great job!" he said aloud.
"Great job? What do you mean?" asked Matt.
"Nevermind about that. I will blur your faces as requested, not to worry. Gannon will do most of the talking." said Garret as he continued to set up his camera.
"This is taking forever dude!" exclaimed Gannon.
Tyrone sat on the bench and breathed in that nice ocean breeze. "It's been a while since I came to the beach. It's very nice out." said Tyrone.
Matt sat down and scooched besides Tyrone. "I like this breeze too." He said.
Gannon and Garret then started to talk among themselves. They were pointing at their camera and saying that something wasn't right with it. Tyrone chuckled and stood up to help them both.
Matt sat back and watched the ocean waves go back and forth. This was giving him a relaxing moment of peace. In a moment however, a car parked not too far from the bench. Matt peeked a little and noticed a man step out with his wife and family of three kids. A teenage girl, and two boys. The whole family was white.
Matt then noticed something that made him feel very uneasy in his stomach. The man was wearing a very popular and conservitive message on his shirt. The American Flag was stamped there, and in front of it was the famous slogan used for recent racist rants as seen on the news.
At the time, there was a very controversial presidential campaign and there were a lot of fights in many states. Oregon seemed so far away from all that, but apparently it was here too. The man's family were about to go down the rocky looking stairs to get to the beach when suddenly, one of the boys, who was a first grader by the looks of things, looked at Matt.
"Mommy! Daddy! There's a Mexican sitting over there!" he cried out, pointing his short finger at Matt, who was sitting down.
The woman paid no mind, but the father did notice. He gave Matt a scowl and pointed the middle finger at Matt. He then chuckled and laughed so hard with his two kids joining in on the laugh.
"Stupid Mexican boy." said the little kid.
Matt's insides began to burn. He was very angry and very disturbed. He wanted to stand up and kick the man right under the belt. He wanted to do that. Suddenly, Matt felt something rush by his side and he saw what appeared to be Tyrone, running against the man. He then grabbed a jar of salt and spilled it all over the foolish racist man.
The man turned around angrily and saw Tyrone standing there with his jar in hand.
"What you say to my little bro you jackass?!" screamed Tyrone.
"He's your brother? What are you? Mexican too?" sneered the man.
The kids were frozen in place, and the woman tried to calm her husband down.
Tyrone put his fists up in the air. "I'd rather be Mexican than be a lowlife white trash like you." said Tyrone angrily.
Behind him, Gannon and Garret walked up and they had their camera rolling.
"I'm going live dude! This guy points the middle finger at orphaned kids!" cried Gannon.
"I'm calling the cops!" cried Garret, pulling out his phone and pretending to call the police. He really wasn't.
The woman quickly covered her face and her two kids didn't know what to do. They just stood there frozen as their father was being humiliated.
The man waved his arms in the air. "I don't care! Do what you want! Immigrant losers have no place in America!" cried the man.
Gannon gasped aloud. "Jesus, so many people are watching this right now! And by the looks of things, you are going to get fired from your job! BUSTED!"
"Yep. Busted, busted. With a capital B." said Garret.
"You better leave. You do that to my baby brother again, you'll be sorry." said Tyrone angrily. His eyes were burning with rage and the man scoffed and turned around angrily. His kids followed close behind. The teenage girl was of course embarrassed while the other two boys were scared. Not that it mattered. They all attacked a harmless and afraid hispanic little boy. They were all cruel and at fault.
Tyrone turned around very angry while Gannon and Garret followed him close behind.
Gannon ended the livestream and Garret shook his head in disbelief. "Can't believe there are closed minded people like that around. Unbelievable!" he cried.
Tyrone didn't say a word. He walked up to the bench and Matt was waiting for them. His eyes were puffy from crying, but when he looked at Tyrone, he smiled. He ran up to him and gave him a huge hug.
Tyrone didn't hold back. He kneeled down on one knee and hugged Matt in return.
Gannon held his phone in front of them and Garret scolded him. "Didn't you end the stream?"
"Couldn't do it. People need to see how hatred affects families. You know our creed." said Gannon.
"Did you at least blur their faces?" asked Garret.
"On Tyrone and Matt and the loser's family. The only face I didn't blur was his." said Gannon.
"Smart move." said Garret.
"Quiero ir a casa." said Matt.
"Yeah. Let's go home." said Tyrone.
"We are so sorry this happened guys." said Garret.
"We'll make it up to you. We'll buy you all lunch." said Gannon.
"Yeah! You guys go home while Gannon and I get a pizza for you guys. We owe you." said Garret.
"You guys are the best. I completely misjudged you both." said Tyrone.
"What are friends for?" said Gannon.
After a while, Tyrone and Matt walked home in peace. Matt held Tyrone's hand the whole way however, but Tyrone didn't mind. Matt looked up at Tyrone's face and he saw a sweet innocence that he couldn't explain.
"Te quiero mucho Tyrone." said Matt.
"What's that?" asked Tyrone.
Matt smiled and hugged him once again. "Te quiero mucho."
Tyrone didn't understand, but he imagined it was something very sweet.
"Te quierou muchou tambien. I guess." said Tyrone, smiling.
"It means I love you." said Matt.
Tyrone blushed and tried to hold back his tears. "I love you too." he said in return.
