So two reviews I want to address, because 1 is important to let everyone know, and the second, they don't have their PMs open

Chryseum: I PM'ed this to you, but figured I should say it here. Um, I didn't realize that when I was typing it out. So in a nutshell, the full version of that law, is pretty much you can't settle things if both people are trainers without Pokemon, if stealing, you can stop them by force if it was stolen directly from you, or you are part of the authorities.

For example, if team rocket stole an old man's wallet, that old man is promoted with a pokemon screen like when we do when we battle

[{Fight}-{Call for help}]

[{Medicine}-{ Run}]

Since he lacks pokemon, he can click fight and use his strongest attack, "Whip out the clock and blow that Mf's brains out"

And if he calls for help, soon an officer Jenny will pop up and use "Treat him like he a dark type"

Sandford9687: Well, I mean, he is going to know some things. I can't have him clueless after all. But unlike a few certain MCs of pokemon, he will do something most of the idiots don't. Research. But anyway I hope you enjoy what you stick around to read.

So with me being an idiot out of the way, on with the next chapter.

Chapter 3

r/facepalm

Jaden P.O.V

Now, oddly, if I try to go up the ledges, I wake up with a hiker over me saying I fell from the sky and crash-landed wherever I landed, but if I go down, I can jump them no problem.

Now, I hope I was wrong. Stealing is...well wrong.

"Sorry Dynamite, we can stop to heal" I uttered to the creature perched on my shoulder as I ran as fast as I could.

I need to get me whatever kicks Silver got.

I entered new bark town and immediately noticed a cop car outside of the lab.

Seems I was right.

I ran into the building. "Professor! I'm back!"

The professor looked frantic as he was speaking with an officer but he noticeably calmed down when he saw me.

"Who are you?" The officer asked, immediately suspicious of me. "We are investigating the case of the missing Pokemon here..." He paused a bit before suddenly concluding.

"Wait, rule number 1, whoever did it will come back to the sight..." The officer looked me up and down, a hand slowly inching closer to his belt.

I stared at him...You really can't be serious

"Oh my...so you must be...the one that did it!"

I slapped my hand to my face. "With all due respect, sir, I think you are a stupid piece of-"

"Hold on a second!" A female voice cried from behind us. It was Lyra. "he has nothing to with it!"

"O-oh yes! This is true, I had Jaden go out to handle some work for me and when this happened I asked for him to rush over" Professor Elm added, snapping out of whatever kept him from speaking up

"Well if you say so professor, then I believe you. I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions." The officer said, but something about it didn't seem that sincere.

"Sir, it is common sense, why would someone that stole something come back to the crime scene if there were witnesses?" I deadpanned.

"Oh...that's...A good point actually"

How in the distortion realm did you get a license to be an officer?

"If you want that did, I saw him" Lyra explained. "A red-haired boy was looking into the building"

"Yeah, I saw the bastard on my way here. Destroyed him in a pokemon battle as well" I said with a scoff. So I was right.

"What? You mean you battled this boy?" The officer asked as he took out a notepad and started jotting down notes. "Did you happen to get his name?"

"I got...a little more than that," I said, recalling the sheer amount of the things he dropped. Why doesn't he get like a single sling backpack or something?. "Long story short he is maybe an inch or two shorter than me, has decent length red hair, last I saw him wearing red and black and his name was Silver"

"I see..." He said as he wrote down everything I told him. "Thank you for helping out with my investigation. My next assignment is to find this 'silver'"

Then he left, as soon he was gone, Lyra walked up to me.

"Jaden! I'm glad they understand you are innocent" She flashed me a smile before leaving. "See you later!"

She winked at me while she waved goodbye.

Don't you blush idiot! She'll notice!

Professor Elm coughed, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Now... What was Mr. Pokemon's big discovery?"

I carefully reached into my bag and handed him the egg.

"This...is an Egg..."

"I thought the same thing too not going to lie. But supposedly he thinks its an Egg of a pokemon you cant find in Johto"

"He may be right. It could be something I've never seen, But until then, it's just an egg" The Professor said as he put the egg on a lab table. "Me. Pokemon has always been fascinated by eggs. Since he gave it to us, we might as well find out what secret it holds."

Suddenly I grinned. "Professor...before I forget, while I was at Mr. Pokemon's house, I met the Professor Oak and he gave me a little something"

"What did he give- Oh my!" His eyes widened as I held out my shiny red Pokedex. "Th-this is incredible!"

"I know!" I exclaimed now excited.

"I always knew you were different," The professor said handing my Pokedex back.

"Ah...It's nothing" I said, feeling a little shy.

"I actually have an idea for you." Professor Elm said. "Your Pokemon seems to really like you, so why don't you...take the Pokemon Gym challenge?"

My interest peaked. "A-are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm quite sure! I have no doubt in my mind, if you put your mind to it, you'll be able to find and beat all of the eight Gyms throughout Johto"

"What about the Elite 4 and Champion?" I asked

He laughed. "Slow down a little. I never thought you'd be the dreamer type. That's no easy feat, getting all the badges is rare enough. What you can do now is challenge Violet City's Gym to begin."

"Of course, I shouldn't get hasty now," I said shaking my head a little embarrassed now.

I walked home, already smelling dinner. "I'm back mom"

My mom stopped cooking to give me a hug and pet Dynamite. As she pulled away, I couldn't keep the crazy grin off my face. "I got some news to tell you"

While we ate, I explained what I wanted to do now, especially since I had the means to do so now.

"So...you're leaving for an adventure..."My mom said sadly.

"Hey, mom, it's not all bad, I can call you anytime and after I get my fifth badge and find a fly HM, I can fly here any time," I said quickly. "But if you don't want me to go, I understand. I'm willing to wait, Dynamite can become the toughest pokemon around and start protecting everyone"

"No...I think you should go for it...I'll help you out too!" My mom said, placing a smile on her face.

"I mean, how will you do that?" I asked.

"I got it! Every time you get prize money, you just send some to me and I'll save it for you"

"That sounds great mom," I said with a small smile. She is going to go on spending sprees if I send enough to her. But even if I'm confident I won't be losing that much money, I might end up spending too much by accident.

Soon, I was lying down in my bed.

I looked at Dynamite's Pokeball, where he preferred to sleep. Man, this is crazy.

Then a realization hit me like a truck. Damn it, I never checked up on Lyra! She's going to be so angry with me later! Unless...

I blinked...I might be able to salvage this. I stood up and quickly got dressed. Miss out on a chance to score on the girl I've had a crush on since forever? I'll take that any day.

This time I opened my single window, thinking about how I'm going to regret this in the morning, and jumped out.

I hit the ground with a louder thump than I planned, but all in all, I wasn't hurt.

I quickly ran to Lyra's house and grabbed a few rocks off the road. I gently chucked them at her window until her light flicked on and she opened it.

"Whaaa?" She said with a cute yawn. "Jaden? What are you doing?"

"I wanted to see you tonight...Do you mind coming down for a bit?" I asked

She paused. "How am I going to get down there without waking my parents?"

I grinned and she smiled.

"Uh-oh, it's never good when you make that face, when you make that face you tell me to do something crazy"

"Come on Lyra, I'm a bit of a crazy guy, but you gotta trust me"

"Fine, on a scale of 1 to 10, how crazy is what you're about to say?"

I held up 5 fingers.

"Kinda risky"

"But kinda fun?" I weakly offered.

"Fine, what is your oh-so genius idea?"

"Jump down, I'll catch you."

She laughed, a beautiful, melodic sound. "You really are crazy, let me get dressed real quick and I'll jump out my window for you"

She vanished for a few moments before coming back out, likely wearing what she was earlier.

She vanished again before jumping out, and I stuck my hands out to catch her.

But, I wasn't ready for all of her momentum or gravity choosing to be extra powerful today, so we ended up on the ground.

"You know Jaden when you said catch me, I didn't think you'd become a cushion for me" Lyra giggled from her sitting position on my chest.

"I like to go the extra mile," I said with a shrug making her giggle some more.

"Suuuuure, whatever you say, buddy"

She got off of me then we headed to near my house and sat overlooking the water.

"So what did you want to tell me?" She asked as she bumped my shoulder.

"I'm leaving first thing tomorrow morning...I'm going on a journey" I said slowly.

"Well, I'm not surprised," She said a little sadly. "Professor mentioned getting you into it and we both agreed that no one else would be a better candidate to take on the Gym Challenge than you from this small town...That's why I suggested waiting to tell you to join."

I glanced at her with an amused glint in my eyes. "Your a little greedy you know that? Trying to keep someone of my talents away from the world"

She met my look with her own amused glint. "Maybe I don't want you getting an even bigger head"

"So you know I'm good at what I do then?" I joked.

"Of course you are, you've always been like that. Since we were kids really, which is why I still am surprised that I became a trainer before you"

I nudged her this time. "Not my fault I didn't know Marill's like to be fed berries if you want them to become your pokemon"

"But of course, you have to lure them over with bagels, cream cheese covered ones for a more instant effect"

I chuckled. "Yeah"

She stopped laughing. "Anyway, you plan to take over the Johto region?"

"Of course, no other region is worthy of my conquest"

"You really are something different. I mean getting Professor Oak's attention out of everyone you could have run into"

"So Professor Elm told you everything huh?" I asked. "Yeah, I do plan on taking the Gym challenge. And I plan on becoming something amazing. What that is, I'm not too sure yet but I have a feeling it will start as soon as the next chapter of my life begins."

"Can't keep you cooped up. Learned that the hard way when I locked you in that shed a few years back" Lyra said with a small laugh.

"Hey, you told me to escape any way I found, ramming my body through the wall seemed like a good idea at the time"

"You had to poke around a little and would have found a key!"

"I'm a man of action, I think as I do things," I said smirking. "I wasn't too sure about this, but it only makes sense. I said I'd help Professor Oak with the Pokedex, and to do that I need to take on the Gym Challenge to go further to find Pokemon"

"Well...I'll miss you," She said softly, her pink lips looked really soft right now, and her eyes held that sparkle I oh-so adored.

The words nearly caught in my throat but I forced them out. "Y-yeah. I'll miss you too. More than...I could really say"

I trailed off a little as we both closed our eyes and began to lean in.

"Mar?!" A high pitched squeak made us jump back

I leveled a murderous glare onto the small blue water mouse when Lyra and said creature weren't looking.

Never have I wanted an electric and grass-type attack to fall from the sky more than this moment right now and to strike that small mouse.

"Anyway," Lyra cleared her throat, cheeks aflame. "You got a Pokedex, that sounds awesome"

"Y-yeah" I cleared my throat. "I'd use it on Marill but I'm pretty sure you know Marill better than any Professor does"

She stuck out a tongue at me. "Maybe I do"

I got up, brushed myself off, and offered her a hand. "We should get you home"

"What about you?"

"I'll figure it out"

She took my hand and I pulled her up. Marill was(thankfully) returned to its Pokeball and we headed back to Lyra's house.

"So what is your plan-"

I picked her up bridal style and lifted her. Her blush increased as I grinned. "Have you been eating enough? You feel kinda light"

"I- A girl has to watch what she eats! And you should too, more specifically you should eat more!"

"Already turning the tables on me?"

"Not my fault you are so boney!"

I lifted her up and crunched together my courage. I quickly pecked her on the forehead and whispered "Goodnight and see you soon"

I tossed her up and barely managed to send her flying and crash into her room.

She got up from the floor, her hair was slightly messy, and her cheeks were bright red. "Hey! What kind of goodbye was that?!"

"The best kind for a cute girl like you" I called behind me, sounding and looking pretty cool. In reality, I had turned around and started to walk away to hide my blush and my increasingly awkward feeling that might creep into my voice.

I simply walked into my house as quietly as I could and snuck back to my room.

.

The next day

.

I rechecked my backpack, making sure I had some money, food, clothes, and other basic necessities. I left a note for my mom. I felt bad for not saying goodbye in person but I wanted to get this done quickly, without tears.

I headed straight to Route 29, where a certain friend of mine was waiting.

"Jaden! I've been waiting for you"

"Waiting huh? Sorry if you were here for a while"

"I knew you would try to leave without seeing me one last time so I knew this would be the best place to catch you"

I smirked. "What, do you want another kiss? Or maybe you want to give me one for luck"

She blushed. "I have no idea what you're talking about! Anyway I want to show you the ropes on catching Pokemon"

I stared at her. "Didn't I teach you that?"

"Nope! I have more experience so I have to show you, it's my job"

I gave her a deadpan stare. "If you pass me a Pokeball right now I'll show you that I know how to do it"

She tossed me a ball. "Fine Mr. I Know everything"

I scoffed. "As the saying goes, I don't have to be the fastest, I just got to be faster than you. In this case, I just know a lot more than you do"

She stuck out her tongue. "Just do it already"

I stepped into the grass and another stupid rat came at me. I grabbed Dynamite's Pokeball and sent him out, ready for battle.

The Rattata rushed forward.

"Dynamite, use tackle"

Dynamite nodded before rushing to slam into the purple rat's head as well. When the two collided, the Rattata nearly fell over.

"Now, time for the Pokeball," I said with a smirk as I tossed it forward, the ball hit the rat, before opening and the pokemon was enveloped in a purple light before getting sucked in. The ball fell to the ground and began to shake with a red button before it stopped both actions.

I turned a smirk onto my friend. "And it looks like the Master is still the master to the student."

"Fine, I get it, you know how to do all that stuff." She looked at me, a blush coming onto her cheeks.

Then she pulled out five Pokeballs and extended them to me. "I know you can get them at the mart now but I thought it might be a good going away gift"

I smiled and added them to my bag, silently swearing that these would be used for my final team. I waved. "I promise I'll see you sometime"

As I started to head off, she grabbed my shoulder. "Wait!"

I turned and found her bright red.

She quickly leaned in and gave me a quick kiss.

"For luck...like you said" She muttered.

I winked at her. "I'd give you another one but I might just end up staying after all."

She blushed. "Just go already. Take care, and don't forget to call and visit"

She headed off back towards New Bark town, Marill following her without a care in the world.

I turned to Dynamite, who was terrorizing some birds.

"Leave them alone, we got some exploring to do," I said as I held my hand out for him. He quickly charged up my arm before settling on my head.

"Just s we are clear, you'll be carrying me when you're fully evolved, not the other way around," I said sternly.

He made a dismissive sound. As if he wanted to tell me, Sure, I'll carry you, but you gotta carry me enough until I reach that point
