Chapter 19

Tyrone was a very peaceful person. But that night, he knew that the stakes were very high and self defense was his only option. First, the Germ took Gannon away through a portal, leaving instantly. Then the cursed BogeyMan shot an electrical ball, and it hit Garrett, instantly killing him. Matt was on the couch, crying and wiping his tears away. He was very scared and he was hugging a pillow from the couch.

Tyrone walked back inside, watching the BogeyMan stand there with his hand on his stomach. He then fell on his knees and fell back, in front of poor Garret's body. Tyrone fought back tears and closed the door instantly and locked it.

"We need to get out of here." he said quickly.

"What?" asked Matt.

"It's not safe for us here now. Two people are dead in front of our house. Garret and the BogeyMan. It's only a matter of time before the police arrive and examine the bodies." said Tyrone, not even listening to himself.

"But what about Gannon?!" asked Matt.

"I don't know." replied Tyrone

.

"Tyrone, I'm scared." said Matt.

"I know." said Tyrone.

"Don't leave me." said Matt.

Tyrone put down the rifle and sat beside Matt. The boy then hugged Tyrone tightly and cried on his arm. He cried in pain and Tyrone hugged him in return. He even went as far as to kiss him on the head.

"What are we going to do?" asked Matt, breathing in and out.

"There is one thing to do. I'll have to ask the Mothman. But I don't know how to contact him." said Tyrone.

"Poor Gannon and Garret." said Matt.

"I know buddy. They didn't deserve it. They both suffered for us. Gannon is gone and Garret's….." Tyrone didn't even dare finish the sentence.

He then looked at Matt face to face.

"Listen Matt. You're stuck with me. If we need to run away, I'll protect you. You won't be alone. I'll watch over you and you will be safe as long as you are with me." said Tyrone.

Matt nodded and the boys hugged one another.

"Tyrone…." Matt was starting to say.

"I told you already that I love you. And because of that, I won't let anyone hurt you." said Tyrone.

Matt did not want to let go of Tyrone. And Tyrone did not want to let go of Matt. The boys; no brothers; hugged each other tightly.

Just then, they heard a loud thud on the front porch. Tyrone recognized it instantly and opened the door. The Mothman came inside quickly.

"Tyrone, Matt! You're safe! Thank the one who holds the stars!" cried the Mothman.

"Garret's gone! And Gannon was taken by the Germ. As for the BogeyMan…." Tyrone was starting to say.

The Mothman stepped aside and Tyrone and Matt screamed. Garret came walking in! He was wounded and hurt, but he was still alive!

"Garret!" cried Matt.

"What happened!" cried Tyrone.

It took a moment for Garret to explain. "Sword Warriors have a ton of abilities. I have learned the ability to give myself a second chance if I'm ever hurt real bad in battle. It's a must have ability for all of us." said Garret.

Matt quickly ran to hug Garret and so did Tyrone.

"We thought you died!" cried Matt.

Behind Garret, stood a dark shadow, also standing alive. The BogeyMan came in and the boys all ran to the other side of the room.

"You! You monster! Leave us alone!" cried Matt.

Tyrone reached for his rifle and pointed it at the BogeyMan's head.

"You almost killed my friend. I'm not afraid to shoot you another bullet through your gut." said Tyrone angrily.

The BogeyMan then unclipped the stupid looking antique tie he had on, and unbottoned the neck of his shirt. He then revealed that he had a bulletproof vest underneath.

The Mothman closed the door behind him and stood in front of him.

"You have committed crimes against humanity, young man. You have hunted down Tyrone and Matt and you wished to take them to that hateful creature of the Germ. Why?" asked the Mothman.

The BogeyMan's hair was a mess, but he didn't care to comb it. He looked at the rifle and then at Tyrone. "You are a real country boy. You're not afraid of using a rifle. You got guts." said the BogeyMan.

Surprisingly, he wasn't speaking formally. Whenever he spoke, he spoke in a very dignified fashion. But now, he was speaking like some random joe from the street.

"Who are you?" asked Tyrone.

The BogeyMan hesitated and folded his arms. He looked at the Mothman and spoke. "If you're going to arrest me, fine. Do it, but my wife is in danger. She's behind the door to the Treasures of Oregon, and the Germ told me he could help." said the BogeyMan.

The Mothman's eyes began to glow red.

"I see it now. I see who you really are. You are not from Rood Bridge Park. You are human, and the Germ is the true criminal." said the Mothman.

"I don't have time to waste. I need to save my wife. After she's safe, then you can arrest me. You can even give me the death penalty. But please, save my wife!" cried the BogeyMan. He fell on his knees and put his hands together.

"I'VE SPENT YEARS IN THIS CRAP LOOKING TO SAVE MY WIFE! SHE'S MY HEART! SHE'S THE LOVE OF MY LIFE! PLEASE SAVE HER!" cried the BogeyMan.

Tyrone, Matt and Garret stood by the corner of the living room, while the Mothman gently placed his hand on his shoulder.

"I was wrong. You are not a criminal. You are a victim. You were lied to by the Germ. He convinced you to join him and you know nothing of the world we all live in." said the Mothman.

"So in other words, you're like me and Matt. You've been thrown into this too, without knowing what's out there." said Tyrone.

"This whole time, you were just as lost as us." said Matt, wiping his nose.

"This means one thing. You are NOT a BogeyMan at all." said Garret.

"No. I'm not. I never was. My name is Sam Acres. My wife's name is Natalie."
