Harry had finally gotten sound to work for the mirrors under water. Installing them in Black Lake was easy - a bit of gillyweed and there it was.
The Mercheiftnainess had him move it three times before being happy, but thankfully, he'd brought extra doses.
There was no way BloodRage was going with him as a bodyguard. It turned out that one of the muggleborn instructors had their SCUBA certification. Afraid of relying on gillyweed, he had brought extra equipment with them.
The mermen were fascinated by his getup, but the two groups had a means of communicating should there be an emergency.
That installation did not prepare Harry for the difficulties of the natural ocean. Again, Instructor Bryce Irwin was given instructions by a huge gamut of concerned guardians, family, and even a worried Thels and Kort.
Thels kicked him on the shin when Professor Irwin laughed at the younger sister of the Boy-Who-Lived for her comment. "It's not the dragons we are afraid of! Stupid hu-mon! The water! It is has dangers in it!"
He apologized and promised to have speargun and wand ready.
Harry's half-goblin siblings didn't want him to be eatenened by anything in the scary ocean. What if the dragons weren't around to save him?
That led to Byrce getting a better idea of Harry's and the dragon's relationship.
Fighting currents, and an irrational fear that the dragons were there to eat them, they finally got that mirror installed.
Harry explained that unlike the others, this one allowed true communication, and they would test it once he was home.
Safely back on terra firma, and enjoying a nice warm chocolate that had been liberally dosed with something toxically alcoholic, Professor Irwin watched Harry test the mirrors inside his flat. The merfolk's mirror had already been checked out. That mirror was perfect.
This one had issues. Some sound was coming through, but Harry kept going back to the portal, and going underwater.
Finally, Sirius Black was recruited to walk back with the boy to make adjustments, and Byrce stayed next to the water except when Harry entered.
Each time of adjusting, Harry had some kind of meat, or one time, a freshly summoned Scottish salmon.
But eventually, it was Juniper who put a stop to it all.
"Bad dragons ordering Master Harry around like House-elf. Mirrors be working all right! Working to make you bring them treats!"
Abashed, Byrce tried to apologize as Black rolled on the beach with laughter. One of the blue dragons popped her head out of the water.
ʥ"Where is my meal? I requested it and have been waiting for some time? I have eggs to watch over here."ʥ
Harry debated what to do, and decided to go with humor. He bowed and summoned a school of fish from the channel not far from there.
They panicked at the sudden dislocation. The dragon dived down, and the chase was on.
Harry left the mirror in place, just in case the dragons wanted to call him for something important.
But the drive thru was closed down.
For the most part.
