The paper read: Join an intensive program that gives you a cybernetic brain today! Plus, get extra credit for any class.

"Let's see, a cybernetic brain; sounds good to me." Arisa said, looking at the paper.

"I don't know, Uo-chan." Tohru said, worried for her friend.

"It'll be fine. Besides, I need the extra credit."

"If you say so." Tohru sighed.

When Arisa got to the experiment room, a node helmet gets placed on her head.

"What's this for?"

"Just relax. We'll test your abilities, then grade you based on those." The teacher explained.

"Okay." She agreed.

"Excellent. Let's begin."

The first test was simple: solve a puzzle, which Arisa completed with ease.

As the tests got more difficult, the girl was starting to feel different as if her mind wasn't her own anymore.

What's going on with my mind? Why won't it respond? She thought as she was going through the motions to complete the tasks.

"Please stop this, teacher!" Tohru shouted. She tore the helmet off her friend's head.

"We were so close, Miss Honda! Your friend was the perfect test subject and you ruined it!"

"Let's go, Uo-chan." Tohru suggested, taking her hand.

The two friends went home.
