Y'all, this is it! We had so much fun with this one! Hope everyone enjoyed all the little Easter eggs! We have been writing up a storm on some other projects, so please check out the note at the bottom because we would definitely like some feedback! We hope you enjoyed this fun little story! We know we did! (And the smut will be back in the next one lol. It didn't seem right for this little mini story.) Enjoy! - A and K

"Those look great, Mr. Hummel! Can you do one more pose with the pom poms? Yeah, that's perfect!"

The camera snapped a few more pictures as Kurt smiled into the camera. They were in the gym at McKinley and the other Cheerios had left so it was just Kurt. The photographer finally got what he needed and Kurt was dismissed to go change. On his way out the door, Mr. Smith caught him as he was coming back from checking out the football field.

"I just wanted to say thank you for agreeing to do the article even after all the… ugliness. I know it will mean a lot to our LGBTQ readers!"

Kurt smiled at him as he hitched his messenger bag up higher. "Of course! I appreciate the opportunity. I know it wasn't your fault what happened."

Mr. Smith made a face and stuck his hand out for a handshake, which Kurt obliged. "Well, I know you had a lot of offers and interest in interviews, so I'm grateful you chose us."

"Yeah, it's been crazy! I got a few job offers for modeling!" He laughed. "If Coach Sylvester hadn't kidnapped me I wouldn't have even gotten all this attention!" Kurt glanced at his phone at the time. "Oh! Listen, I gotta go, but it was good talking to you!" He waved as he started towards his car.

"You'll get your advanced copy in the mail! Thank you again, Kurt!"

Kurt slid into the driver's seat and threw his bag in the back. His car was nice and cool in the afternoon heat which he was thankful for.

"Everything went okay?" Burt asked from the passenger side. He had waited for Kurt in the car and had it running. Kurt somehow stopped himself from rolling his eyes and put the car in reverse.

He just cares about me. No need to get an attitude.

"Yes, dad. Everything is fine. It's been a month. How long are we going to do this?" Kurt said with attitude.

Burt grunted from his place next to Kurt and leaned back. "If you're asking how long I intend to tag along with you everywhere you go, the answer is as long as I feel like it."

Kurt groaned and let his head fall back onto the headrest. "Yeah, well what are you going to do next month when you have to go back to D.C.?"

"I already handled that," Burt said, a smug grin on his face. "I'm doing a Zooming thingy."

Kurt snorted and put on his blinker. "Dad, you don't even know how to do a Zoom call."

"That's what you are here for, kiddo."

Kurt shook his head fondly. "Okay, well you can't Zoom forever. What are you going to do when you have to go back?"

"Also handled. Either your cousin Zach will come stay with you or I'll hire a bodyguard."

"Oh my god," Kurt whined. "Please not Zach! He won't stop trying to sell me essential oils!" Burt raised an eyebrow as Kurt giggled. "Seriously! He says Bergamot cures gayness!"

Kurt's memories weren't all back, but once swelling had gone down and he had treatment, a lot had come flooding back.

Burt rolled his eyes. "Fine. Hired help it is."

"Or Blaine could come over and keep me company?" Kurt said hopefully.

"Hah."

"Please?"

"No."

"Fine, all the Warblers then?"

"No."

"Why?"

Burt turned to stare Kurt down. Kurt ignored him and fixed his most innocent smile on his face.

"Because," Burt stated as if he had just been waiting for Kurt to ask him that particular question. He ticked each point off on his fingers. "Last week when they spent the night Trent spilled a whole gallon of milk, Sebastian went through all my ties and said they were ugly, David wouldn't stop calling me 'Papa Humbug' for some unknown reason, and I kept finding Nick and Jeff making out everywhere. Oh, and we aren't even going to talk about what I caught you doing with Blaine."

Kurt's ears turned a bit pink and he concentrated very hard on watching the light turn green. "He spilled something on his pants."

"Mhm. I was born at night, kid, but it wasn't last night."

"We aren't even to that point in our relationship yet, Dad. I do remember the talk you gave me." He licked his lips. "I will tell you I think Blaine and I are going to lose our virginities to each other."

"Okay," Burt said, looking green. "I think that's enough of that. I appreciate the honesty, but I'm not ready. You can just invite your girlfriends over."

Kurt dropped the argument for now. He would wear him down. Plus, Burt liked to act all gruff and put out, but he was a huge softie for all the Dalton House boys. He couldn't fool Kurt. After he had been taken to the hospital that night, during the early morning hours when it was quiet and neither Burt nor Kurt could sleep, Kurt told him all about the Warblers and what had happened to him while at the boy's home. Burt was touched and agreed they had to do something to help.

"Well, say what you want, but meeting Wes definitely worked out for you." He nudged his dad with an elbow. He enjoyed seeing him squirm. "How are you and Carole anyway? I can't believe I didn't think of introducing you two myself. Wes is an excellent matchmaker."

"We're fine," Burt sniffed. "I'm very happy." He studied Kurt's profile. "You are okay with me dating, right? We never really talked about it… but it just kind of happened…"

Kurt smiled and squeezed Burt's arm. "Dad, are you kidding? Obviously no one could replace mom, but Carole? She's amazing. I'm behind this one hundred percent."

Burt smiled back as Kurt bounced up in down in his seat. "Oh! Turn it up! It's our song dad!"

You are the sunshine of my life

That's why I'll always be around

You are the apple of my eye

Forever you'll stay in my heart

Burt's heart melted as he sang along, off key, but happy.

Parking was a nightmare. By the time they made it to the park, there were cars and news vans everywhere. Kurt ended up having to circle the park at least three times before he found an empty spot squeezed between a mini van and a Jeep. They hurried out to the main area, weaving through the crowds of people, waving at the ones they knew and some people they didn't. It was still so weird to see his face on a tshirt and ever weirder to see a picture of him and the Warblers on others. But they were a big seller, so he couldn't complain.

They had gotten ahold of the reward money (the one thing Sue hadn't lied about) and given it all to the Warblers since they had not only helped Kurt when he lost his memories, but helped find and rescue him after Sue got him back in her clutches. Wes had sobbed when they gave him the check, and the boys had to basically carry him to his bed after wrenching him off of Burt. They had put the money to good use, fixing lots of things around the house, buying school supplies and clothes for the boys, and Nick never had to go without allergy medication.

A part of it had been set aside for starting merchandise for Kurt's fundraiser idea. Eventually, he reasoned, they would run out of the reward money so they needed to come up with something that would keep money coming in. He suggested they take their already popular singing group and turn it into something bigger. So, when doing the endless interviews he had been subjected to, Kurt casually slipped in he was starting a band with his rescuers and they would be having a concert in the park. They recorded a few songs with help from the New Directions, put them online, and then started selling merchandise.

For the concert today, they would have the New Directions open for them, then the Warblers, then Kurt would join in with the Warblers and end the show. Kurt's glee club was more than happy to perform, even if Rachel and Sebastian did almost come to blows over pretty much everything.

"Okay, kiddo. I'm going to go find Carole. You are going to go immediately back stage and stay there until I come get you," Burt stated in a way that allowed no argument. Kurt bit back a sigh and nodded. He left Burt at the entrance to the makeshift backstage constructed of tents and a few outbuildings and hurried to find his friends.

He found the New Directions first as they were putting the final touches on their makeup and outfits and just in time to stop Sebastian from killing Rachel.

"Have they been fighting this whole time?" Kurt asked Mercedes. She rolled her eyes before getting back to applying her lipgloss.

"I'm about to stuff socks down both of their throats and shove them in a closet. Do something, white boy, before we murder them."

Kurt bit back a smile and set down his bag.

"No, you're totally wrong! Colm Wilkinson is the original Jean Val John and he will always be the most iconic!"

"As usual, your opinions are boring and without critical thinking, Berry. Obviously Alfie Boe brought something to the role that Wilkinson never could, and that's class."

"How dare you! Wilkinson had an emotional depth Boe could never reach! He's so focused on tone that he loses something-" Rachel seethed.

"Yeah," Sebastian snorted and glared down at the girl. "Who won a Tony and who didn't?"

"He was nominated!"

"But did he win?"

HELP, mouthed Artie, Tina, and Mike.

"Alright, kids!" Kurt interrupted the two scowling teens. "How about less arguing and more getting ready?"

Rachel spun around with a, hmph and stomped away while Sebastian eyed Kurt with a bored expression. Kurt could tell he was fighting a smile though.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Elizabeth Smart, fresh from yet another interview. Done bathing in your five minutes of fame?"

Kurt ignored the barb and took it for what Sebastian intended; affection. He patted Sebastian gently on his crossed arms, earning another glare and smiled winningly.

"Come on, Seb. That tie won't tie itself!" He hip checked the taller boy as he went to grab his bag. "You better look presentable for all the cute boys that will be attending!"

The corner of Sebastian's mouth tilted up slightly as he swiped his tie off of a table. "It's unfortunate you know my kryptonite."

Kurt smirked as he ducked into a tent serving as a dressing room and began changing. A sound behind him made him yelp in fright and cover his naked chest for reasons he didn't understand himself.

"Who's there?"

Ever since being kidnapped (twice, technically) Kurt had been suffering from some anxiety when shocked. It made his surprise welcome back party thrown by his friends in glee club interesting.

"Help!" said a muffled voice from a trunk shoved against a wall. Kurt cautiously opened the trunk and tilted his head to the side in exasperation.

"Oh, Trent. What happened?"

The poor boy was tangled in some spare stage curtains and folded up like a pretzel inside the trunk. Kurt pulled him out and helped him fix his blazer. Trent stuck out his lip and kicked at the grass.

"Well, I was looking for my shoes because David dared me to get into the fountain- he thought I was too scared to break the rules and I told him no, I wasn't and he said that's what I said last time, but I only wouldn't get in the fountain because it was really cold and not because there was a cop nearby-"

"T, honey, I'm going to need you to wrap this up."

"Oh! Right. Sorry, you know I ramble-"

"Trent."

"Yeah. Yeah, so I took off my shoes and I think someone grabbed them by accident and put them with the extra stuff, so I was looking in the trunk and I fell in and…" he flailed in a helpless gesture and Kurt sighed.

"Gotcha. Well, I bet if you've been gone for awhile then someone's going to come looking for-"

"Trent! There you are! We were so worried!" Nick admonished as he ran in with Jeff and David. Trent toed at the grass again with his sock feet and smiled at them sheepishly.

"Sorry guys. I got stuck in the trunk. Kurt found me!"

The others looked up like they just noticed their pale friend and greeted him warmly.

"Ooh! Kurt, look at you! Someone's been doing their pushups!" David teased him as Kurt flushed from his cheeks down his neck to his naked chest. He snatched up his shirt and pulled it on quickly. David poked him in the side causing Kurt to squeak and move away. "Blaine is one lucky guy!"

"Are you guys ready?" Kurt asked, desperate for a change of subject. He was very much into his boyfriend, but David had an annoying knack for flustering him.

The others nodded as Jeff wordlessly handed Trent his shoes.

"As soon as your dressed, meet us back stage!" Nick said as he grabbed Jeff's hand and they left with Trent. Kurt laughed softly at the sound of Trent tripping over his shoelaces.

"Oh, T. Here, let me help," said Jeff from the hallway.

David winked and shot Kurt a toothy grin on his way out. "Your boy is next door btw. He's going over the routine till his feet bleed, as usual."

He found Blaine a few minutes later, practicing choreography as expected. Kurt watched him making sure his moves were perfect, counting silently to himself. He tried not to swoon at the sight of him, handsome as ever.

Their relationship had only gotten better and more serious in the month since they had been together. Kurt invited the Warblers over for Friday night dinners which Carole and Finn both attended now as well. Kurt had had a pretty good laugh at Blaine's expense when Blaine confessed he thought Finn and Kurt might be together. Blaine didn't think it was that funny.

Kurt would drive out to Dalton House nearly every Saturday (accompanied by Burt of course) except for one day when the glee club girls drug Kurt out for shopping. Kurt also attended game nights where he and Sebastian were nearly kicked out of the house for beating everyone so thoroughly at Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, and Candy Land.

Wes was able to get all the boys cell phones as well and Kurt spent plenty of time texting and calling Blaine. Everyone was over how sickening they were.

Blaine did a double take when he caught sight of Kurt watching him and the smile that overtook his face was like sunshine.

"Hey," he said, slightly out of breath. He crossed the room, grabbing a towel to wipe his face along the way. As he neared his boyfriend, he wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist as Kurt draped his across Blaine's shoulders.

"Hi," Kurt replied. "Getting in a last minute practice?"

Blaine thumbed at Kurt's hips through his shirt. "Mmm, yeah. You know I like to be prepared."

Kurt smiled into the chaste kiss Blaine gave him and chased his lips when he pulled away. He moaned and grabbed Blaine by the back of the neck before kissing him breathless. When he finally let Blaine free, the curly-haired boy stumbled back with a dazed grin and kiss swollen lips.

"Sorry. Just missed you."

"Yeah," Blaine agreed, his voice cracking. "I missed you too."

Kurt licked his lips and Blaine watched helplessly. "Are you ready for this? Our debut concert?"

"Definitely! This is going to be amazing! Did you see the shirts? So many people are wearing them!"

"Yeah I did. It's so weird."

Blaine chuckled. "Is your dad here?"

Kurt let his head fall onto Blaine's shoulder dramatically. "Ugh. Yes. He won't let me drive alone! Or even be alone! It's ridiculous."

"Baby," Blaine cooed. Kurt couldn't resist him when he called him pet names. "Your dad is just having a hard time. I would be the same way if I had lost you." Blaine was toying with the collar of Kurt's shirt and teasing at his collar bone. "Have you heard anything else about the trial?"

"No. Nothing new. It will be awhile before she's out."

Sue Sylvester's trial had been a circus to say the least. On her first day of trial, she had jumped up and yelled, "Objection!" to everything the prosecution said. After her lawyer tersely told her to shut up, she fired him and claimed she was going to represent herself. She spent the next day of the trial asking the witnesses personal and odd questions so that even the judge was confused. On the third day, she had attempted to break away from the officer escorting her into the courtroom and then kept imitating the judge mockingly. She was charged with contempt. Kurt had testified against her, as had the Warblers and Burt Hummel. She spent all the time they were on the stand trying to whistle over what they were saying and made faces at the jury.

By the end of it, she had gotten fifteen years for first-degree kidnapping, five years for drugging Kurt, five years for holding him hostage, six months for assault, and a year for lying to the police. In total, she would spend about twenty-six and a half years in jail. Because of the way she acted during the trial and the recording they had from Kurt dialing 911, they told her she wouldn't be up for parole for at least five years. She claimed she would only be forty by the time she got out and it would be too late to have children. Sue was drug out of the room literally kicking and screaming about how it wasn't fair.

It had been quite the show.

Becky's trial was much less dramatic. Since she was a minor and influenced heavily by Sue, Becky only got five years in juvenile detention. She broke down when she was sentenced and read an apology letter to Kurt and his dad. Kurt felt a little bad for her, but he hoped she would learn her lesson and not hurt anyone else.

"Oh my god, they are about to make out again! Someone go get the hose!" Kurt rolled his eyes at the incorrigible David before tugging Blaine's hand to lead him out to the stage door. The show was about to begin.

The crowd hushed into near silence as Wes took the stage. There were cameras everywhere, flashing in the late afternoon sun and phones being held up to record what he had to say. He was dressed nicely, but casual and he had a 'Vote for Burt Hummel' pin on his shirt pocket.

"Hello everyone!" The crowd answered heartily and Wes waited patiently for them to quiet down. "Thank you so much for coming out tonight to support our boys! This has been a dream of mine since I was twelve years old and first stepped foot into Dalton House. Not the dream of a band, although that is pretty cool, but the dream of one day helping others like me. Boys who had been displaced from their homes and shoved into a new reality that they didn't know what would happen. Today, I can say we have not only done that, but we continue to do it in several ways." The crowd cheered at this and Wes had to wait once again. "Thanks to a terrible situation that we turned into something amazing, the boys at Dalton House have the food, clothes, and medical care they need. Our very own Representative Burt Hummel has made it one of his platforms to bring this issue to light in D.C. In fact, whatever you donate tonight will be given to another boy's home right here in Ohio. Thank you all for being generous and for making these boys lives something better. Thank you to my longtime supporters," He smiled at a tearful Carole Hudson, "and our new ones." Burt nodded back at him from his place beside Carole. "Now," Wes continued with a mischievous smile. "Are you ready for the show?"

The crowd went wild at those words. Wes grinned wider. "First we have the New Directions McKinley High glee club and the Warblers. Then, the moment you all are waiting for, our brand new band, Kurt Hummel and the Seven Warblers!"

The cheers and screams from the crowd were deafening as Wes strode off stage to be greeted by all the Dalton boys. Quick hugs and back pats were given as Blaine bounced on the balls of his feet.

"Are you ready for this?" Blaine asked his boyfriend who still had ahold of his hand. Kurt squeezed and gave him a soft kiss on his cheek.

"I'm ready. Don't forget the words to our duet!" Kurt teased him.

Blaine's eyes twinkled as he patted his heart. "Got them right here since the first time my mom sang them too me. Go break a leg, sweetheart."

Kurt blew him one last kiss as he trotted out on stage with the rest of the New Directions.

The Warblers gathered around Blaine and watched their boy sing his heart out.

"Wow, he's such a good singer," Trent sighed. He pretty much worshiped Kurt.

"He definitely is," Blaine agreed, sighing himself.

"Eh. He's okay. A bit pitchy," Sebastian said. Blaine rolled his eyes, but ignored him.

"He's better than you, asshole," Nick said to Sebastian.

"He's better than you too, which isn't that hard, egghead."

"I think you all are great singers," Jeff added, smiling at Nick's kiss he pressed to his cheek.

"Guys, shut up! I'm trying to ogle Kurt's ass!" David said and ducking away from Blaine's punch he aimed at the boy. "Nah, but really, we're really glad you guys are happy together. Plus, being Kurt's friend has some nice bonuses. Have you seen some of the girls in his glee club? Talk about damn."

"Shut up, David," they all said.

Blaine couldn't remember being happier, not since his mom died. He was grateful for his little patchwork family and the love he found with Kurt. It felt like a fairytale, at least to him.

They all lived happily ever after. Or at least, until Sue broke out of prison.

But that's a different story.

The End.

Songs used:

You Are the Sunshine of my Life- Stevie Wonder (again lol still don't own it)

P.S. Please help us decide a few things!

We have a few stories lined up but we don't know which one to post first. If you would let us know in a pm or a review what you would like to see next, it would be greatly appreciated.

Options (all are AU):

1)A sweet Western themed story where Blaine moves to a new town and meets a very reserved Kurt. Adventures ensue. It's super cute, I promise.

2)A story following Kurt through his final year at NYADA as he works at a piano bar/restaurant. One night his ex comes in and sets him on a course for a new relationship. More of a love story with a side of angst.

3)Also, we have had some interest in a sequel to What Is This Feeling and were wondering if we did write one, would you rather it be a story about their senior year or graduation/moving to New York?

Thank you for any thoughts or ideas! -A and K
