Artemis POV
Artemis had landed in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere. He sighed. I knew something was off with the coordinates. He looked at himself. His face morphed into a scowl. He was much closer to the ground, shorter, younger. He also had a change of clothing. A blue sweater with white words grandly that said WELCOME TO GRAVITY FALLS!
He had faded jeans and a pair of black sneakers. He stepped furiously, demolishing a sick fallen gray leaf. He calmed himself by taking deep breaths. He ran his hand threw his hair. His hair was all frizzy from his travel. He slicked it back the best he could. Then thought, How is this possible? It's similar to the time travel effect with my age but - clothing? What is Gravity Falls? A dozen more questions buzzed in Artemis' head.
Artemis decided it was enough time in this strange place. He placed his own dimensions coordinates in his watch but he immediately noticed something was off.
The watch was going crazy, sparking and blinking blue lights. Artemis tried to take off the cover but it was jammed. With the watch not working, there was no way back home. It was the dimensional device that got him here.
Artemis heard a creaking noise behind him. He slowly turned to see a tree bigger and mossier (Artemis' thoughts were going too fast to use proper grammar) than all the others. It was a tree that was a foot. Literally. Artemis froze in place. He tensed, not having Butler at his side. He checked his pockets to see if there was anything that could help him in the woods and against the tree-foot. Nothing. A twig snapped under Artemis and the foot-tree hopped away, impossibly silent.
Artemis now had even more questions. Wherever he was, he had to get out of the woods as fast as he could. He analyzed his situation. It would be best if he found shelter and some people to get answers from. Maybe he could find the tools to fix his watch. Sure, it was full of strange critters that would be worth investigating… but not without Butler. Artemis ran aimlessly in the woods
Dipper and his twin, Mabel, sat on a log in the middle of the woods far from their home, the tourist trap, The Mystery Shack.
"It's your fault we're lost, Dipper. You wanted to go get that weird person." Mabel
"You found her first," he said back. Mabel grunted and turned away from him. Her sweater used to say WINNER DINNER and had an image of a cake and was, of course, covered in glitter. What he said wasn't completely honest though. He had seen the strange being before.
An hour ago, someone knocked on the door of the Mystery Trap. It was 2am but Dipper had been reading more about Bill Cipher. He had just been possessed by him. He opened the door to find a small figure in a cloak.
"Oh not the gnomes again, do you wanna go back into a vacuum bag?" Dipper said. He was about to shut the door but long nimble hands stopped it. The cloaked figure removed the hood to reveal a woman's face. She had long white hair and elfish features.
The elf woman said, "Whatever business you have with gnomes I- hmm." She tapped on the wooden door.
"No, nevermind. I hate to say this - especially to a mudboy - I need your help. Look, I lost a boy. He should be an adult by now and usually wears suits, he also has-"
"Okay elf or whatever you are, I'll gladly help you-" He said 'help' as if it was something he did, especially for weird creature things, "-but I'm in the middle of a situation here - an investigation."
He shut the door. Suddenly, a strange bright blue light flashed outside the door. He heard a yelp but it seemed far away. He opened the door but he found nothing there. It must be some sort of teleportation spell. But why did she yelp?
Dipper was about to go back to his book but just then he heard Mabel scream his name in excitement upstairs.
"DIPPER! There were two bright flashes of light outside! Look, it's the weird elf girl! I've seen her before, in my dreams." Two? Thought Dipper. She rushed down the stairs and jumped onto Dipper. Dipper groaned. "Ow! Don't do that please."
"We have to go after her, we have to!" Mabel said, jumping up and down.
"Shhh. You'll wake up Gruncle Stan."
"PLEEEEEASE! I have to."
"Well I guess if it has to with strange mythical creatures. But let's take a bag or something." Mabel was usually hyper but never this hyper.
And that's how they ended up in the woods. Dipper sighed. He got up from the log and told Mabel he'd go get some acorns or something.
Now that Mabel was alone, she could process the whole situation. Dipper said she had problems understanding things. She didn't understand what he meant by that. Mabel never kept any secrets from Dipper. Unless she didn't want to tell him something. It was true she had strange dreams with that meter-tall-elf. But they were always depressing. The dreams were gray and had sad people in it.
One of her dreams included her, Dipper, and some astronaut floating above them. She didn't see his face because he was in an astronaut suit with reflective face glass. All around them was a large flat gray platform. The sky was dark but it didn't twinkle with any stars. Dipper was on a couch reading his book. He didn't seem to notice the astronaut or his surroundings.
The astronaut said, "Butler, I've collected the 'space rock.' I mean, that is what you wanted to call it." Mabel turned her head up to see him properly. She tried to focus on the astronaut's big face mask, but she simply couldn't. It was a black mirror. It looked like she was the one in the astronaut suit. She stuck her tongue out and did all the weird motions she could with her face. She was giggling.
Just then her surroundings changed. She was in a cave, alone. There were plenty of drawings on the cave walls. They were plenty scary though. There were four giants running after some half-horse-half-human-from-the-waist-up people, people with small wings, short people with elf ears, and some fat small people. There were more creatures running from the giants that seemed absolutely frightened. Then Mabel realized what the giants were. They were normal humans.
There was an elf person running her hands across these images. She was looking so sad that she made Mabel sad. The elf person had auburn hair in a ponytail. She looked old, and very sick. Another elf came in, a smaller version of the other elf. The smaller elf was running to the other one and she shouted, "Mom, no!"
"It's okay Holly. You'll be alright. Just do what you have to do," said the mother elf fiercely. She faded away into dust. On the cave wall there was a new imprint. It was the mom elf on a submarine. She was under the giant humans who were now throwing trash on her. The mother elf looked mad but she tried to help her crew members. The smaller elf was on her knees. She wasn't crying but she looked devastated. The cave started to flood. It reached Mabel's knees, then her chest, Then her head… At that point she woke up.
Mabel was quite hungry now. Dipper had told her to stay here but she was just too hungry.
"I'll be back in just a bit. I won't be lost," she said to herself.
