Artemis was not in a good shape. He has been in the woods exploring for about five hours. He hasn't found any signs of humans. He encountered a gname that only said shmebulock, a humanoid hand covered in scales, and some strange crystals that altered his size a bit. Butler had taught him basic survival skills but of course he didn't listen.

Only Orion did. Artemis shuddered at the thought of his Atlantis Complex. That was his least favorite disease of all time. He found some berries but he recognized them as Pokeweed Berries. If he had eaten them he would have gone through intense stomach aches, vomited blood then killed him. He threw it as far as he could, which wasn't very far. Fortunately he heard a boy's voice.

"Finally! I found some berries." Artemis' eyes widened. He thought threeo things fast: I'll save him and gain his trust and he could help me, I should certainly be able to deceive a simpleton who just eats berries that flew into their field of sight, and, I should follow my plan to pretend to be someone who recently came here from Colorado. Artemis ran toward the voice and in a perfect american accent, said, "Hey, don't eat those!"

"Huh?"

"Those are pokeweed berries. They cause your throat to swell up and makes holes in your organs, starting with your stomach until there is nothing left and you become an organ-less corpse"

"Oh geez!" He threw the berries away with the same strength Artemis had. "Wait, who are you?"

"I'm Ace." Artemis lied. It would be best not to use his real name in case there was another version of him here in this dimension that could cause unwanted attention.

"Ace? Weird name but I've heard worse." The boy said. "What are you even doing here?" He said with a tremble in his voice. "In these woods, here are all the - I mean… nevermind."

Artemis was very intrigued. This boy had clearly encountered something terrible in these woods. But the boy wasn't afraid of the woods yet. Artemis shouldn't underestimate him or these woods. He'd seen monsters here that were clearly not in Ireland. Maybe there were People here but they were different kinds of species? After all, the People in Atlantis were more adapted to the sea than the People in Haven. But they were the same 7 species…

Artemis decided to answer his question by looking down at the ground and did his best at looking sad, which was pretty good. "My-my parents were dead before I was born. I never knew them and no one knew them. I've been by myself ever since." It was a pretty good backstory considering how he looked right now.

The boy fell for the sob story. Almost. It seemed he still had suspicions of a random boy in the woods. "Hmm… I'm sorry."

"It's okay"

"I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Dipper. Dipper Pines."

"Say, why are you here in the woods lost? You must've come from somewhere nearby." Artemis was tired and sick. He was impatient and wanted to get under a shelter as fast as possible.

"Yeah, I came from a place nearby. True, not like another world or something." Dipper said. Artemis felt relieved. "But… I'm lost too." Artemis mentally sighed. Then something occurred to him.

"That's bad. Do you have any idea where we might be? I haven't been lost for too long." Artemis talked absentmindedly, still thinking about what he said before.

"No, sorry. But my sister is here with me. Follow me." Artemis followed Dipper to a clearing in the forest. There was a log and a backpack.

Artemis was curious, "Say, what were you doing out here? Camping?" Artemis knew it wasn't camping. If it was, these two were serious amateurs.

"No actually we- nevermind. You're not gonna believe me. No one does. Well, except my sister."

"At this point I'd believe anything," Artemis said, honestly.

"There was this woman knocking on our door. It was weird because she was short and looked like an elf. White hair too. What a stereotype. She mentioned a mud-boy too."

It sounds like Vinyaya, Artemis thought, But how? Could it be possible that time here moves much slower than in my dimension?

"When did she knock on the door?"

"Like an hour ago. Why do you ask?"

Artemis thought of a distraction fast, "Any longer here and I'd be eating the ground," He added a bit of humor too, "Maybe hungry enough to eat you?" Artemis laughed but Dipper took a step back and smiled sheepishly.

"Anyways, I'm going to talk with- hey... WHERE'S MY SISTER!" Artemis had noticed she was gone but he'd thought Dipper sent her to go get food or something.

"You have to help me look for her. Please." Dipper put his hands together to beg. Artemis thought it was more of a priority to find shelter. He didn't care much about her sister. He was sure she could fend by herself but this was the perfect opportunity to earn his trust.

"Sure. Why wouldn't I? But still. I wouldn't be much help without food. " This was also a perfect chance for Artemis to get food.

Dipper looked through the bag. "I don't think we have anything left- oh, perfect! Beef jerky!" Artemis hated beef jerky but he had no other choice. He was very, very, very - oh you get the jist.

Dipper took out the bag of beef jerky. Very, extremely, unfortunately, there was nothing inside the bag. Yet the smell of beef jerky wandered in the air. It wasn't much but it almost made Artemis drool. Dipper put it inside out and left out on the dirt floor. That made the smell even stronger.

"Wha-"

"Oh Manotaurs, accept this beef jerky!"

"...Is this your version of a jo-" Dipper put a finger to his lips and shushed him. Artemis had an urge to order Butler to throw him in a garage can but Butler wasn't at his side...

Artemis wondered what these Manotaurs were. They sounded like Minotaurs but he had said Manotaur. With a man in front.

...Maybe it was a cult that acted like Minotaurs?

"The Manotaurs like beef can help us find Mabel. Though they don't like me very much." Artemis realized it was possible that these manotaurs might attack him.

They waited and waited. Seconds turned into minutes. Artemis was usually patient but he wasn't sure if these Manotaurs existed.

"Maybe if I act a bit more manly?" Dipper said. He grabbed some dirt and placed it on his shirt. He cleared his throat and said in a much deeper voice, "I challenge you Man-"

Just then a giant bear that seemed to be infused with multiple other bears appeared. It looked anxious. It let out a small squeak. Artemis normally would have tensed from fear or panic but the bear didn't feel - manly. Then it spoke.

"Hey Dipper, It's been a long time since-" The bear thing sniffed the air. Then all its heads looked at Artemis. "You smell strange. Like the woods but also a faint smell of … something else."Artemis took a quick interest in the bear. He wasn't afraid of it and it seemed to have some sort of intelligence. Though he seemed cowardly. He jumped when a bunny hopped out of the bushes. He smirked at the bear when Dipper wasn't looking. Though he was cowardly, he certainly wasn't stupid.

Dipper took a quick anxious look at Artemis. Artemis could tell he was worried about that 'something else' comment. Dipper gulped it down. He said, "Hey Multibear. This is Ace. He was lost. So is my sister. Can you help us find her?" It seemed like Dipper cared a lot for his sister. That reminded him of his twin brothers. He felt bad for leaving them behind. He wrinkled his nose to get rid of the thought.

"Sure thing, Dipper." The multi-bear shot a look at Artemis before sniffing the log where Mabel sat before. "I've got the scent. Follow me."
