Spiked Drink
The party was a letdown.
It was meant to be a girl's night and yet both Lissa and Mia had found guys and disappeared into the throng of people. I doubted I was going to see them again tonight. I had smiled and told them it was fine for them to go, but now I regret it.
I didn't admit it to them but I had hoped to be cheered up tonight after my falling out with Mason. He was one of my best friends and now he isn't talking to me because I don't feel the same for him.
Pushing away from the wall, I made my way through the crowded house to the kitchen. Just one more drink and then I'll go home, hoping a small buzz will take my mind off things. It was even more crowded in the kitchen, unable to get to the fridge or the drinks table.
I groaned, giving up on the chance of getting anything.
"Hey," A tall guy with brown hair smiled down at me, holding a cup out towards me, "After a drink? It's just rum and coke."
I contemplated turning him down, "I don't know."
He grinned, he was very attractive. "That's fair. Very responsible of you."
I pulled a face. I didn't feel like being responsible. I took the offered cup, "Thanks."
His smile grew, winking at me, "You're welcome." I watched him disappear into the sea of people.
Just this one drink and then I was leaving.

Dimitri POV
Watching Ivan dance was embarrassing, after four shots and he lost all sense of intelligence. It was the only reason I agreed to be here. Surrounded by drunk people grinding up against one another wasn't my idea of a good time. The beer I had been nursing was becoming warm from my palms.
Ivan strolled over to me, a woman with blonde ringlets under his arm. "Come on and dance, Dimitri!"
I looked back, expression blank, "No." I had to contain my smirk at his pout, watching as he slipped back between the bodies with the woman to dance. I was considering changing my beer for a cold one when someone ran into me.
I glanced down at curly brown hair, her head shaking as her hands found purchase on my shirt. After a moment she looked up at me with glazed eyes, licking her lips. "So…sorry. Tall…tall person."
My brows furrowed, she was very drunk. "Are you okay?"
She blinked, looking like she couldn't comprehend my words. "I don't… know."
"I think you've had too much." Something about her made my concern spike. She didn't look much older than my youngest sister.
She shook her head, "Only one."
I was bewildered, about to speak when another guy walked up to us and wrapped a hand around her arm.
"There you are, I've been looking everywhere."
I eyed the brunette. "Are you her friend?" He gave me a smirk.
"Yep. Can't hold her liquor." He pulled her towards him, "Come on, let's go find somewhere quiet."
A look in his eyes made me feel uncomfortable letting him take her. I glanced down at her, there wasn't any recognition on her face, but I don't know how aware she was. I gently took her arm, stopping them from going further, ducking my head to be at her eye level. "Do you know this guy?"
The guy frowned but I watched her as she slowly looked over at him and shook her head.
"Gave me a d-drink," She slurred.
He pulled at her again, more aggressive. "Back off. She's just drunk."
"I don't think so." I stood at my full height, easily towering over him. "She isn't going with you."
He scowled, eyes flicking from me to the girl, before throwing his hands up. "Fine, the bitch isn't worth it!"
I stared after him until he was gone, keeping a hand on her arm to keep her standing. Making sure she was okay, I waved to get Ivan's attention, pointing outside knowing he would follow in a minute.
I took her arm again and led her out, away from the loud music. If she was just drunk the fresh air would help. I sat her on the porch swing, crouching down to be at her eye level. "Hey, are you okay?"
She blinked slowly, reaching forward to touch my nose with her fingertip. "You sound weird."
"What's your name? Do you have someone you can call?"
"Who you gonna call?" She whispered, "Ghostbusters."
I frowned. This was getting nowhere.
Ivan walked out, the blonde with him. "Dimitri, you are really missing out." His eyes caught the woman in front of me. "Or not..."
I rolled my eyes, "I think she's really drunk or something. She needs help home."
The blonde's eyes widened, dropping on the swing next to her, "Rose! Are you okay?"
"Mia!" Rose smiled, swaying slighting before frowning, "I don't feel…good."
"I left you like twenty minutes ago. What happened?"
My jaw clenched. "I think you need to take her home. Some guy was trying to get her to go with him."
Mia looked up at me in shock, "Oh god. Do you think someone put something in her drink?" She glanced between Ivan and me. "I need to find our friend, can I trust you with Rose?" A hard look set in her eyes, "If you hurt her, I will make you regret it."
I held my hands up, "I'll watch her."
"I'll help you find your friend," Ivan offered, following Mia back into the house.
I sighed, shifting to sit beside Rose when she swayed dangerously to the side again. She leaned heavily into my side, squinting up at me. When I looked down, she grinned.
Again, she poked my nose with her finger, "Th-thank you, tall… person."
My lips quirked up a little, "You're welcome, Rose."
