DUAL TRAILER
"You really wanna be a huntsmanr do you sweetie?"
"Yeah mom! More than anything!"
"Heh, just like your older brother. But why exactly? You know how dangerous it can be?"
"I know but…I still wanna do it. To protect the people of this world and defend everyone from the Grimm and bad guys that hide in the shadows!"
"I think you've been watching too much of those All Might PSA's."
"Mom!"
"Hehehe, I'm just teasing you sweetie."
"So, do you really think I can do it?"
"I know you can. Because you're strong. You can do anything you put your mind to Shoto."
"Shoto! Are you ready?" Opening the door to a room was a woman with long white hair, this womans name was Rei. She had a kind looking face and warm smile on her face as she entered the room and looked at who was inside it. "Your brother is here; he's waiting at the usual spot. I'm just making sure you're not gonna be late."
"Don't worry mom, just sharpening my weapons." A stoic voice belonging to the one Rei called Shoto responded. Sitting on the bed in the room was a 17-year-old boy a bit on the tall side at five foot ten, he also had a rather muscular and fit build. His hair reached his neck and was evenly split between two colors, the right side being white and the left side being crimson red. He also had heterochromia iridium with his left eye being turquoise and his right being gray like Rei's. He was currently wearing a combat uniform consisting of a dark blue jacket with elbow-length sleeves, its collar high and joined in the center by a gray neckpiece, baggy pants of the same color, a metal-plated combat vest and white boots. He also had a brown utility belt with the left side of the belt holding containers of fire dust and the right side having containers of ice dust.
Currently in his hands were the weapons he had just finished sharpening. They were a pair of Chakrams with spikes over them. One Chakram had a snowflake design on it with the other one having a flame design. On the inside of the Charkram was a gun trigger with the end of one of the spikes on each weapon resembling the barrel of a revolver.
Shoto got up and attached the Charkram's to the sides of his belt and looked to his mother. "Just making sure I'm ready," When Shoto looked to his mother, his eyes widened a little bit as he saw her looking at him with sparkling eyes, tears threatening to spill out. "Mom is something wrong?"
"No, no, nothing's wrong." Rei laughed a bit as she rubbed her eyes to keep the tears from coming hope. It just seemed in that moments that Shoto turned into the four-year-old that loved to sit on her lap and already decided what he wanted to do with his life. "It's just so hard to believe how much you've grown. It seems like yesterday you were eagerly hoping to watch the newest All Might PSA on TV."
Shoto blushed a bit in embarrassment but couldn't stop the small smiling coming onto her face. "Yeah, guess the time has a way of flying." Rei then pulled her son in for a hug that Shoto gladly returned. "I'm gonna be ok, I promise."
"I know…" Rei said as she took a heavy breath. She knew it was coming but there was nothing she could to do prepare for it. "Just a few more short months and you'll be on your way to Beacon."
Shoto nodded as he and his mother separated. "Which is why I need to make sure I'm ready for it," Shoto said with Rei nodding in understanding as she knew what her son was talking about. Getting out of the way, she allowed her son to leave his room so he could go and spare with his brother. "Don't worry, we'll be back in time for dinner."
"Tell him I'm making his favorite." Rei said with a smile as Shoto simply nodded. "I love you Shoto!"
"I love you too mom." Shoto said before he started heading out of the house.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
"Ugh!" Shoto grunted as he was pushed back across the bare ground, now in a large open area with a few large rocks around. Shoto breathed heavily as he managed to catch himself on his feet, sweat covering his head and dirt on his cloths. The area around him was covered in both ice and fire, both blue and orange. Shoto gritted his teeth as began to spin his Chakram's around, the fire and ice dust in each one glowing brightly as Shoto's aura, with the left half of his aura being red and the right side being blue.
However, his aura suddenly disappeared. Shoto fell to his knees as the glow disappeared and the dust in his weapons lost their glow as well. "D-Dammit…" Shoto breathed out as he punched the ground slightly. Not the first time he's ended up in this position, but it was definitely getting old to him.
"Gotta remember to pay attention to your scroll Shoto, you rely too much on offense. Gotta know when to take more of defensive approach." The person in front of Shoto told him as he walked up to the dual haired teen. "But hey, got me down to the yellow. Not bad."
Standing in front of Todoroki was a man in his mid-twenties wielding a metallic staff that had a blazing blue dust crystal inserted into it. As the man deactivated his aura, which matched the blue of the crystal, the dust crystal turned red again like a normal fire crystal. He was a fairly tall, pale young man of a slim, somewhat lanky build, with white hair with a few red streaks that spiked upward around his head while hanging low over his eyes which are thin and turquoise in color and heavily lidded. He has several silver cartilage piercings in both ears, and a triple nostril piercing on the right side of his nose. He wore a large dark blue coat with two large metal cuffs at the end of each elbow-length sleeve, and a white stitch design on each of his shoulders, the hem ripped, extending down to his knees. He had a white shirt with yellow highlights, a brown belt with containers of fire dust attached to it, dark jeans, and black boots.
"Got the great Touya in the yellow huh?" Todoroki said in between breaths, revealing the person in front of him to be none other than his oldest brother Touya Todoroki, as he looked at the ground with a blank stare. "Guess that means I'm getting somewhere then,"
"Don't be getting a big head Shoto," Touya lightly scolded as he lightly poked Todoroki with the end of his staff, getting a small glare from his older brother. Touya simply let out a silent chuckle as he sat down on the ground leaning on a rock. "Like I said, you tend to lean towards offense a little much. Not bad when dealing with a horde of dumb Grimm, but against smart human opponents you're gonna start getting predictable. A predictable man is a dead man."
"I know…" Touya always made sure to make that something to know. You can't be a one trick pony, you gotta be able to adapt and change things up to fit the situation. But offense was Shoto's specialty, a reflex almost. It was hard to go against that reflex. "Guess that's just something I'll hopefully be able to learn at Beacon."
"Just a few months till ya leave," Touya commented as he got himself comfortable. Still had some time until dinner, figured they could rest up a little bit before they went home to eat. "Think you're ready?"
"I'll only know when I get there," Shoto said as he closed his eyes. Touya seemed to approve of that answer as he nodded his head. In his own experience, you were never truly ready. You just had to roll with whatever punches were sent at you. "So, how long are you staying for?"
Touya was silent as first as he just looked up at the sky. Noting how peaceful it was, just seeing the fluffy white clouds lazily move across the sky. It was nice. If only those nice things could last forever. "About a week. Then I gotta head out." Touya told his little brother before looking at him. "How's the fam? Dad home?"
Shoto simply looked to the side. "You know the answer to that."
Touya let out a sigh as he rolled his eyes. "Ain't surprised. Four kids and rarely ever home, I'll never understand that man." Touya could never really understand his father. He was always acting so cold and was pretty distant from everything and it felt more like he was married to his job as a Huntsman then to his own freaking wife. "Ah well, probably for the best. Don't wanna deal with anymore stress anyway."
This got Shoto's attention as he rose a brow at his brother. "Something wrong?"
Touya simply shrugged his shoulders. "Sort of, don't know the full story but apparently I'm needed in Atlas for some reason. Ironwood himself requested this." Shoto's eyes widened a bit at hearing that. General Ironwood himself wanting Touya in Atlas, what was up with that? "Why I decided to come visit, figured I'd spend some time with you guys before heading out. Who knows, might even meet poster boy himself. Won't that be something."
Shoto knew who Touya was talking about and simply nodded. "Hopefully it's nothing to bad." Shoto and Touya then decided they should head back home and got up, hiding the dirt of their cloths so they looked somewhat presentable to their mother. "The others are good by the way, but they aren't home. Natsuo is probably with his secret girlfriend and Fuyumi is at a PTA meeting."
"Hmph, guess that just means more food for us," Touya said with a grin before he and Shoto went in the direction of the Todoroki household. "Come on, let's not make mom wait,"
"Right," Shoto nodded before following his brother.
