Bubble Guppies Teen Years: Jane´s Origin

Chapter 1: Difficult Childhood

"Do you know, my friend? Life is not fair. It's not like that?...Well…While some are born to feast…..others spend their lives in the dark... begging for scraps"

"Could you be more specific?"

"Well….As I was trying to start...It all started from when I was born..."

Flashback. Years ago

A long time ago, a family lived far away from BubbleTucky. Far from Big BubbleCity. The family consisted of three members. Mr. Reed, Mrs. Reed, and little Jane Reed. Normally the arrival of a child in the house would be synonymous with happiness. For the Reed family, that was not so. Since she was born, her father immediately rejected her. He wanted a boy. However, that is not the only problem. Her father was an alcoholic, smoker, violent man and it goes without saying that he was a misogynistic man. Well, he abused his wife and her daughter (physically and psychologically). The little girl never saw a show of affection from her father. However, her mother loved her very much. Jane's mother always gave her a smile, even if the day had been horrible. We'll focus on a typical day at Jane's house. At this point the girl was 6 years old.

The pretty girl had long black hair. Her skin was fair and her black eyes were just beautiful. Her two-piece wine-colored tail. She was an identical image to her mother. Jane's mom woke her up to go to kindergarten. Jane didn't like that place. She always made fun of her classmates a lot and she used to play practical jokes on her.

"Mommy! I do not want to go to school!" Jane said with a sad tone.

"I know. But you have to go" Her mother said. Jane didn't want to go and she hid in the sheets "(sigh) Daughter...I promise we will go to the park after school" She smiled at her.

"You promise? But... dad gets mad if we're not home" Jane said scared.

"Your father doesn't have to know. It will be our secret" Her mother caressed the little girl's cheek.

"Okay!" Jane kissed her cheek. Thanks to that, the girl got up and quickly went to take a shower and get ready to go to kindergarten. Finally she reached the dining room for breakfast. Her father was there reading the newspaper. The girl greeted him fearfully, but he didn't even look back. He was busy with his newspaper, and even though he wasn't busy, it seems he didn't care.

"Breakfast is ready!" Mrs. Reed said happily.

"Yay!" Jane was very happy.

"Honey….I made eggs and bacon with orange juice. Your favorite" The woman said with a smile.

"It's about time, woman. I'm starving" The man said rudely and took his breakfast and started eating. However, he stopped eating and dropped the plate of food "AGH….Very salty, woman! Make me another breakfast NOW!" He ordered.

"But honey... our girl has to go to school" She defended herself. The husband just pulled his wife's hair

"Without excuses! Make me another breakfast if you know what's good for you. The girl can go alone. Jane, go to school!" The man said bothered.

"But…but….dad…Mommy always takes me to school" Jane said scared.

"Seriously? Well today mommy can't! So go to school alone. You know the way!" Mr. Reed said bothered. The girl decided to wave goodbye before provoking her father's anger further. Jane decided to leave before she could hear her father's knocking. It was obvious that she was going to hit her mom. Jane didn't understand, but she knew that at school she wouldn't listen to her dad. It was the only thing she liked about school.

Still, school was just as bad for Jane. When she arrived at kindergarten, the children were waiting for her to throw water balloons at her. Thus ruining her hair. The teacher literally knew nothing about it, which further encouraged bullying. Classes continued as normal. It was time to color with paint. Jane was a quiet girl and she was trying to paint a flower. A girl close to Jane was painting a kitten. Two other girls approached the girl who was painting the kitten and ruined her painting with green paint without her noticing it, because she went to get more colors. And they gave the green paint to Jane.

"MISS! Someone ruined my painting!" The girl cried. The teacher came to intervene.

"Who did it?" The teacher said bothered.

"It was Jane! Look at her! She has green paint on her hands!" One of the girls pointed to her.

"Yeah!" Her friend added.

"N..Noo! It is not true! The green paint was for my flower!" Jane defended herself.

"Jane...you know it's not good to lie" The teacher crossed her arms disappointed.

"But I'm not lying!" Jane said desperately.

"Jane, you'll have to apologize to your partner. And because of what you did, you won't go outside. The others can go outside" The teacher ordered.

"Outside! Outside!" Another kids said excitedly.

"Hey, do you listen to the Bubble Guppies?"

"Of course! They are the best!"

Jane just sighed and went to draw something. She couldn't go outside because of other girls. Finally, recess was over and it was story time. The teacher sat on the sofa while all the other children sat next to her. The teacher began to read them a story. While everyone was paying attention, the two girls who were bothering Jane decided to make another joke. She took some colored crayons from the backpack of one of her classmates and hid it in Jane's backpack. When everyone finished hearing the story it was time to draw a picture. One boy wanted to use his new crayons but found they were missing.

"Miss! Someone took my new crayons! They were given to me for my birthday and now they are not in my backpack" The fish kid was sad.

"Very well. Who took Louie's crayons?" The teacher asked. They all kept silent "Huh? Nobody wants to confess? Well, everyone has to show me your backpacks!" She ordered. They all opened their backpacks to find the missing crayons. Unfortunately they were found...in Jane's backpack.

"Oh! Jane took them!"

"N..No! I didn't take them! I swear!" Jane said scared.

"So why did the crayons show up in your backpack?" The teacher asked bothered.

"I…I…I…I don´t know. Maybe someone wanted to blame me!" Jane said.

"Do not lie! Thief!"

"Thief!"

"Thief!"

All the children started pointing at Jane. The poor thing was scared. She knew that she didn't. What she did was quickly run away to cry. She decided to run away from kindergarten, where no one would bother her. She hid in a playground in the park. She sat up and hid her face in her "knee" to cry non-stop. Several minutes passed and still no one found her. Jane decided to take out her cell phone so she could watch children's videos. The surprise is that her favorite videos were of the Bubble Guppies! Jane admired the six guppies. She loved hearing Molly sing. She laughed at Gil's funny situations. She admired Deema's store segments. She liked Goby's imagination. She liked how kind Oona was. And she liked the stories that Nonny used to tell.

"Hehehe….You guys always make my day (sigh) I wish I was a Bubble Guppy" Jane said before somebody surprised her.

"Hello, dear!" It was her mom.

"Ahhhhh!" Jane was scared.

"Do not worry dear. It's just me, mommy. The teacher called me. She said you ran away. And since I know you well, I know you would hide in your favorite place" Her mom said with a smile.

"Oh...the teacher told you everything?" Jane said sadly. Her mom nodded.

"But I know you. I know you are not like that. The teacher usually tells me bad things about you, but I know it's not like that. Why don't you tell me what happened?" Mrs. Reed asked with a smile. Jane told her everything that happened. Her mother understood that everyone bothered her and was cruel.

"I see….Do not care anymore. Mom will talk to the teacher tomorrow. And you will see how everything will improve" She kissed her daughter on her cheek.

"So...do I have to go back to school now?" Jane asked sadly.

"Well….Your dad is not home. And now we are in the park. Why don't we enjoy the rest of the day together. Then we'll go for ice cream" Mrs. Reed proposed.

"Thanks, mommy! You're the best!" Jane hugged her.

And so it was done. Both decided to play in the park until sunset. They both bought ice cream. Jane chose her favorite flavor, strawberry. Her mom bought a chocolate one. They both arrived at the house hoping Mr. Reed hadn't come home yet. But nevertheless...

"SO! Where were you two?!" Mr. Reed shouted angrily.

"We just had fun together in the park. Is that a bad thing?" Mrs. Reed asked.

"YEAH! You were supposed to be here serving me! But not! You were out there lazing around and possibly seeing someone else!" He shouted angrily.

"What kind of woman do you think I am? I would never be unfaithful to you..." Although Jane's mother was telling the truth. Her husband didn't care about that and he hit her "RUN, JANE!"

Jane knew that when her mother told her that it was to hide in her room. Jane went quickly to her room. She locked the door and sat in the fetal position to cry. Hoping her father would stop hitting her mother. That was Jane's day to day.

Back to the present

"Just a second! I do not understand this. I thought your father's name was Bossi Cadaverini. But you say you lived with the Reed family. I do not understand anything" Officer Miranda intervined in her story.

"Everything has an explanation. You should let me tell the story without interruptions" Jane said, smirking.

"(Patience, Miranda. Patience. It's all I need to get the information out of Jane)" Miranda thought it. She took a deep breath "So you grew up with the Reed family. Your mother loved you but your father didn't. And he beat you two?"

"Yeah…." Jane was trying to stay cold and mean like she used to be. But….she averted her gaze from her down. It seems that deep down in her soul it hurt.

"And it seems that your days in kindergarten were not very nice, right?" Miranda asked again.

"That's how it is...I went through this" Jane commented.

"But everything could improve, right?" Miranda asked.

"Hmpt well…..Let me tell you that things went from bad to worse...However...I didn't feel alone...There was a small spark of hope in my life...My...my... ..my mom" Jane said seriously.

To continue…

I'm going to be honest...I...I'm feeling bad for Jane. And that is missing much more. I... I just hope you guys are liking it. This is definitely not a happy story.
