"Then, shall we stop here, Iruma-kun? It's getting late." The president rested her tea cup on the coaster, her legs uncrossing, sighing as she prepared to stand up. Iruma breathed a sigh of relief as he took a sip of his own tea. It had been a particularly racy scene, one that gripped him even, to the point of powering through five chapters in one go. So without realizing it, they went past their usual 6:66 time.

He glanced at his phone and sighed. The time is now 7:30, and his inbox is full of grandpa's text. He'll have to apologize when he arrive home. But his grandpa was understanding, despite his grudge for the student council after his evil cycle.

"Yeah, I think we should. Same time tomorrow, Ameri-san?"

"Of course. Be careful on your way home, Iruma-kun"

"I will. See you tomorrow!" As the blue-haired human waved goodbye, he gulped at the eerie silence that gripped the school. He walked the empty large hallways, past the cafeteria when he heard a large clang. He cocked his head in confusion, someone was still at school at this hour?

Drawn to the noise, he found his way to the school's local gym, something he never even existed til now, and gasped as he saw a familiar figure. The unmistakable giant of the misfit class. A blush crept up to his face as he remembered their last sparring, where their conversation took to a more intimate turn.

Sabro was just putting the weights on the rack when he noticed his rival.

"Oh… Iruma… Still at school at this hour?"

"Y-yeah… We…uhhh… I was with Ameri-san and we kind of lost track of time." He admitted, seeing no reason to lie. Over his stay at school, he grew to trust the misfits more and more. And he'd wager that should worse come to worst, he'd gladly trust them with his life.

For a while now, since revealing his wings…. Err lack thereof to Sabro, Iruma had been toying with revealing his status as a human. Though he still hasn't gathered the courage to do so, he was growing comfortable with just Sabro.

"You were working out?"

"Of course. I can't be demon king without strength, dear rival. Now wait up. I'm about to be finished."

"No… I mean… I was about to head home anyway. So I'll probably just be on my way."

"Alone? At this hour? No. Wait, Iruma. Let me do a quick wipe and I'll be with your right away."

Iruma sweatdropped as Sabro quickened his pace, and true to his words, the hulking giant was with him without wasting a step. The other boy's scent wafted as he neared, his warmth apparent to the smaller one. But Iruma doesn't find it unpleasant. In fact, he doesn't mind Sabro's manly scent, despite having just worked himself out.

And the demon, despite his proclivity for lifting weights hardly broke a sweat anyway, so Iruma thought it's not such a big deal.

"Now, I do believe I offered to be your wings. Hop on…" Sabro bent down in front of him as he signaled to his back, and Iruma blushed as he faced the other boy's back. For a demon to show his back like this is a sign of trust, and Iruma learned, over his courses that for someone to show this stance is not to be taken lightly, especially when that demon is exposing his wing roots for all to see.

"Are you sure? I mean, I could just walk." Sabro just chuckled.

"What kind of rival would I be if I let you do that now, hmm? Besides, I owed you my life back at the flying test. A debt that must be repaid a thousand times over. Now hop on."

"Well, okay… Thanks." Iruma smiled, and he could have sworn that Sabro sported his own blush as well, as the taller boy felt Iruma's soft chest square on his back.

"Don't worry about it, Iruma. A promise is a promise. Now hold on and enjoy what it feels like to ride on the future Demon King's back!" Sabro grinned as he slowly took off the ground, being extra careful not to drop his cargo on his back. Iruma subconsciously wrapped his arms around Sabro's neck as they increased their altitude, the school grow smaller and smaller as Iruma, for the first time in his life felt the wind on his face.

Riding the master of the valley was a different experience, the demon's large body having shielded them from much of the wind. But this time, having Sabro's body in front of him allowed him to face the sky ahead, enjoying the purplish hue of the night enveloping the demon world.

"Woah… this feels… nice." Iruma exclaimed as he felt the cool breeze brushing against his face. The innocent remark caused Sabro to smile wider. He felt the other boy's chin on his shoulder as Iruma's eyes half closed to enjoy the incoming breeze.

"Want me to go faster, Iruma?"

"Sure, Sabro, if it's you… I trust you… woah!" He tightened his hold, pressing his body tighter against the other demon who only laughed in response as he felt the other's surprise.

"Don't worry my rival. On my honor, I will not let you fall, now check this out, we're taking a short detour." He veered sideways to the town and Iruma gasped as he looked at the town beneath him. This is the first time he get to enjoy the view. And he took in the shopping district much more closely, memorizing the routes and roads and the shops that beckons below.

"How is it?"

"It's amazing, Sabnock-kun. I haven't seen the town from this view before."

"Let's take a closer look shall we… I've been wanting to show this to you since last time. We know you've been sheltered and all, so I think you'll appreciate this."

And Sabnock did tour Iruma around the town. They maintained a good height from the sky and Iruma was able to enjoy the view he never got when he first got here. The shopping district was bustling with activity, with people going about their business and the way that the night sky bathes everything in its glow brings a strange new charm to it that he wouldn't be able to appreciate during the day.

As the other demon varied his speed, Iruma laughed, enjoying the way that the wind tickled his face. Sabnock was too engrossed in the smaller boy's sounds of joy to notice the distinctly familiar pink figure watching them from the distance below, just past the local library and luxury store.

It was 8:00 p.m. when Sabnock dropped him back to the mansion gates.

"Thanks, Sabnock-kun. That was fun." Iruma said as he disembarked the other demon's back.

"Yeah, it was. The view was unlike any other." Iruma didn't think for a minute that Sabnock wasn't referring to the view of the town. "Well, see you at school, tomorrow?"

"See you, Sabnock-kun. And… thank you… again…"

"Don't worry about it. And if you need me to lift you somewhere else, just give me a text, okay?"

"Yeah…. I will. Good night!"

Iruma waved goodbye, his heart and chest feeling light for some reason. And despite the scolding that Opera gave him after he entered the mansion, he can't help but think that the day ended on a good note.

That is until Ali-san started teasing him when he's in bed later.

"I bet, it's not just his back you want to ride, right Iru-boy?"

"Ali-san!" Iruma exclaimed, mortified at the ring's suggestion as he covered his burning ears with his hand and forced his eyes shut.

The morning after, Iruma frowned as he was greeted with a lone Clara at the gates.

"Uhmm… Clara… What… err… How should I ask this… Uhmm… Where is Asmodeus-kun?" He asked when he finally noticed the distinct lack of the ever-present incubus.

"Oh… Azz-Azz said he'll be heading straight to school today. Said something about settling some scores. I'm not really sure what he meant though. He left in a hurry. But don't worry Iruma-chi! I will escort you to school today!"

As they made way for the school, Iruma can't help but be bothered at Asmodeus' absence. This hasn't happened before after all. But he would get his answer when he arrived at the gates. A commotion was afoot, and even the student council was helpless as they watched familiar flames dancing at the main entrance.

Iruma ran to find out what's going in and he arrived just in time to catch the conversation.

"A challenge… I would never back down from any challenge, not even from a friend!" Iruma heard Sabnock's voice from the distance.

"Good. You sneaky fiend deserved to be punished. By my hand I will personally see your demise." Asmodeus flung a ball of fire to Sabnock, one that the demon easily parried with his silver spear.

"I'm not even sure why you're angry, Asmodeus. Look I just gave him a ride. That's all."

"Preposterous! Am I to believe that he'd willingly let you of all people carry him like like that? Like some sort of helpless prideless demon? When I'm through with you you will repent, Sabro." This time, Alice conjured a flaming sword as he swung at Sabro, and even the battle-hardened demon was having trouble keeping up with the other's swordsmanship.

Just what is going on here? Why are Sabro and Asmodeus dueling in the school ground this early in the morning?

"It's not about pride, you idiot. You know, I've seen how you coddle my rival and I don't like it one bit. You claim to worship his strength but don't you think you're doing the opposite? You discredit Iruma with every simpering you do, Alice!"

Iruma's eyes widened. It is clear now that the fight is about him.

"How dare you! How dare you, cretin! Iruma-sama is mine! Not yours! Don't you dare deign to defend his honor when it's me who's by his side ALL this time!"

Sabro smirked. "So you're finally being honest with your feelings, aren't you? No matter. I've taken a liking to him, too. And if this gets you to back off, then I don't mind pummeling you for all to see. Prepare thyself for your defeat!"

"Insolent. I will show you who loves Iruma, more. My fires of passion burns brighter than yours, Sabro. And after this duel, I'll make sure you never look at him again!"

Iruma blushed as the crowd looked at him, feeling small as he avoided their gaze. So this duel WAS about him.

"Alice! Sabnock-kun! What are you doing?" He yelled from the gates. "Please stop this. We're all friends aren't we?"

And both boys whipped their heads to his direction.

The pink demon's eyes softened as he leapt away from Sabro.

"We will continue this later, Sabnock! This score between us must be settled at all cost. But for now… my duty awaits."

"Fine by me either way. I'd like to settle this in a more private scenario either way. But don't think for a moment this isn't over yet." Sabro challenged back as he turned his back, not wanting to fight in front of Iruma. He knew how his rival viewed his friends fighting and how it bothers the blue-haired boy when they disagree with each other. And even when his soul was burning to settle this score with Asmodeus, the one who challenged him out of the blue this morning, he knows that they both can't do this now… not when Iruma is watching at them with worried eyes.

"I wasn't counting on it… You are now my rival, Sabnock. And I shall not rest… so long as you don't back off."

Sabro just smirked. "You'll remember Asmodeus, I was his first ride… Always will be." And Sabro left a sputtering Asmodeus behind as he glanced behind him. And sure, Iruma might be focused on calming down the fire demon now, but Sabro knew, last night, Iruma's full undivided attention was his and his alone.

And not even Asmodeus can't possibly match up to that.

The rest of the day was spent in a cold war between Asmodeus and Sabro. A strange silence fell over them both. And even Clara was prudent enough not to bother Sabro when Iruma was barely able to rein in on Alice's fury.

"What was that fight about, Asmodeus-kun?" Iruma would later ask. But all he got was a terse smile from the pink haired demon.

"Nothing that should concern you, Iruma-sama. But make no mistake. No matter what you say now, I won't back off. Now that I'm aware of that fiend's intentions, it is even more imperative that I assert my claim now."

"Hahhh? What are you talking about?"

"Just… just don't talk to Sabnock alright? He's bad news. And frankly I am offended, Iruma-sama. But that talk will have to wait after class. For now, just stick close to me, okay?"

Iruma frowned, he wanted to stop this… but he doesn't really know how. And as much as he wanted to ask Sabro what's going on, Asmodeus' tight hold on him was definitely a huge barrier.

He sighed as he let the rest of the day fly by. And through it all, Alice remained true to his words. The demon being more overzealous than usual. No one can even come close to Iruma without being yelled at or snapped at. Even his usual meeting with Ameri, Alice insisted on standing guard outside the student council's door.

Whatever this is, Iruma wanted to talk to them both. Clearly, the problem revolved around him. And if that's the case, only he can restore their friendship, right?

Iruma sighed as he sunk deeper into his seat. What mess does he finds himself this time now?

A/N: And there we have it, Sabnock and Alice's rivalry began. How will Iruma quell these two powerful demon's fight? Fight out in the next chapter. :) Oh and by the way, my apologies for leaving my other Iruma fanfics unattended since last year, I'll definitely come back to them soon. I'm rewatching season 1 now and I'm inspired reading some fanfics and this happened. So we'll see where this one takes me. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this one.
