Chapter 1

It was late in the evening, the hour was closing in to midnight and most people had already gone to sleep.

Uraraka was one of the few who was still awake. She sat near the window while she was doing the last of her homework, training had taken more time today than usual, meaning she had less time when she got home to do her homework for the next day.

As she looked out of the window and enjoyed the view of the silent and dark neighborhood, she noticed there was one window with the light still on. She smiled to herself, apparently, she wasn't the only one being up this late after all.

Suddenly she noticed a silhouette in the window. A man. And from what she could see, he had a nice build. She wondered who he was, although he was facing the other way around, the only thing she could see was a very well defined back and broad shoulders.

As the man grabbed something above him and pulled himself up, Uraraka slowly dropped her book in her lap without even noticing it while she was admiring the man's form and his muscles as he started to do pull-ups.

At that moment, Uraraka could feel her heart almost skip a beat and her face started to grow warmer by each of the man's pull-ups. She didn't even know who it was, although the movements of the muscled man, made her blush almost up to her ears. There was something about him. Something indescribable that made her feel rather attracted to him. Which was crazy, right? It was a silhouette, she could barely see anything.

That night she went to bed with a small smile on her lips and a tingling feeling in her stomach, she couldn't think of anything else than the mysterious man who lived across from her room, doing pull-ups in the night.

The following nights, Uraraka stayed up to catch a glimpse of the man doing pull-ups all the while she was pretending she needed extra time to do her homework for the next day, a lie she was getting pretty good at telling herself.

This time she noticed that the man had added something to his routine, he pulled his legs up when his chin reached the bar and then as he slowly went down, he practiced walking in the air and then he did it all over again when he reached the bottom.

It tingled in her stomach when she saw the new movements of the man and when she saw how the sweat was gently glistening on his body.

A few days later, Uraraka was down at the training hall together with all her classmates. They had a free period which almost all of her classmates wanted to use in the training hall to improve on something, be it their physiques or their quirks.

Uraraka had just finished running around the track field to improve her endurance and use it as a warm-up as well. As she walked around the training hall to find out what she wanted to do, she noticed the pull-up bar in the middle where some of the guys were training. Suddenly she thought of the man from the only lit window in her neighborhood.

She pulled herself together and walked up to the bar and as she reached up to get a grip of the metal bar, she thought of the man and what he did as he pulled himself up and she tried to do the same. But as she tried to use her upper body strength to do so, she didn't move a centimeter.

"Hey Uraraka," a deep and cheerful voice said from her side, "What are you doing there?"

Uraraka let go of the bar and turned around to see the red-haired Kirishima suddenly standing next to her.

"Kirishima, hey," she tried to act nonchalant, avoiding the fact that she wasn't able to pull herself up from the ground. Which was embarrassing in itself, adding the fact that she had the zero-gravity quirk, she should be able to do this, right?

"What are you doing?" he laughed with a bright smile, "interested in the bar challenge?"

Uraraka put her hand on her hips and raised an eyebrow at her friend, "the bar challenge?"

"Yeah, it's really popular too," Kirishima said, "we're a few from the class who's doing it. Even Bakugou has joined," he almost whispered the last part, trying not to offend the loud and short-tempered blond.

"Oh, that wasn't really what I had in mind, I just, uhmm, wanted to try it out for fun, you know?" Uraraka flailed her arms in front of her in defense. The thought of one of the guys from her class could be the mysterious man, made her cheeks grow warm and flustered.

"Allright, anyways, it looked like you could use some help, your technique is a bit off,"

"Yeah? I thought I did it just like… I mean! I thought I did it right,"

"Here, let me help you," Kirishima took a hold of the bar right next to her and started to explain about the correct technique, "you need to broaden your hand's position and have a firmer grip,"

Uraraka mirrored the stance he was doing and tried her best to concentrate on what he was teaching her. All the while she thought if maybe Kirishima was the mysterious pull-up man she's been looking for the last couple of days? Damn, she wished she knew where people from her class lived.

"Ah no, see, you have to do it like," Kirishima let go of the bar and walked up behind Uraraka, towering over her, and then he corrected her hands and her position overall, "this," he said with a smile as he was done.

"Oh thank you Kirishima, I see there is certainly a difference," she blushed slightly as she smiled happily to her friend.

Suddenly a loud explosion was heard from the other end of the training hall. Not because it was anything out of the ordinary, as Bakugou was training as well, it was doomed to come with a couple of explosions now and then and everybody just acted naturally as they had gotten used to Bakugou by now.

Uraraka tried to do a pull-up and even though she wasn't able to pull herself up completely, her feet got lifted from the ground, just a bit.

"Omg, it worked! Thank you Kirishima!" she said with a smile and determination in her eyes as she let go of the bar and faced the red-haired guy.

"Sure, you need to work on your upper body strength if you want to pull yourself up though," he scratched the back of his head.

"Right, uuuh, I'm getting pumped," Uraraka said as she took a power stance and punched her fists through the air.

"Well, I had better get going now, see ya," Kirishima said with his cheerful smile as he waved bye and went over to the corner where his friends were training.

Uraraka went over to her usual spot to practice her zero-gravity quirk before she went home for the day. Boy did she need a shower.

On her way home, she bumped into Midoriya, he was walking slowly down the street, almost as if he was waiting for her to catch up to him. And when she finally did, she didn't have to say anything before he did, "I saw you at the bar today, trying something new?"

Uraraka blushed at the thought that he had noticed, it was almost like the cool air disappeared from around her.

"Oh yeah, just trying something new, to shake things up you know," she smiled, glad that the sun had set already as the darkness was hiding her blushing cheeks from his rather keen eyes.

"You're really something, Ochako," he smiled brightly at her. The mentioning of her first name made her heart skip a nervous beat and she could hardly reply with a normal tone of voice.

"Oh, Deku! You're more amazing than I am," she clapped him on his back a few times before she continued to walk again, she hadn't even noticed that they had stopped completely.

For a second she thought that maybe Midoriya was the mysterious man she saw until she realized that he lived in the same building as she did. How could she have forgotten?

The first week after she realized he lived in the same building as her, she could hardly walk out of her door, too nervous at the thought she might bump into him at some point.

A knot in her stomach started to form as she thought more and more about it.

Had she hoped that it was Midoriya? And if it wasn't him, then who could it be? Was it even certain it would be someone she knew?

"Are you okay?" Midoriya asked as he saw that Uraraka was deep in her thoughts, looking at her feet while they slowly walked to their apartments.

"Yeah, I'm fine! Don't worry about me!" Uraraka flailed and tried her best to smile at her 'friend'.

This was silly of her to think so much about it and it certainly was not something that was worth telling Midoriya about.

Plus it would be super embarrassing to admit that she was this hung up by a dude she didn't know the identity of. It had been a long time since she had been thinking of another guy like that, who wasn't Midoriya.

"All right, let's get you home. It's already quite dark," Midoriya said with his hero smile. Most likely because he, like many others from their class, thought of Uraraka as a fragile girl.

"Midoriya, do you know if there's anybody else than us that lives in this area?" a blush crept up in her chubby cheeks as she tried to hide her nervousness from the question. She blurted it out before she had time to think about it, typical.

Midoriya thought about it for a small moment, "I think there is a couple actually, as it's close to the academy and rather cheap," Midoriya began to mumble to himself, trying to figure out if he had a more definite answer than that.

The moment Uraraka heard there was a possibility of someone she knew being that silhouette, her stomach tightened.

"Oh, look at that, we're here, see you tomorrow," Uraraka said with a smile as she almost ran up the stairs to her floor, "and thank you for walking with me back," she said, knowing that if he hadn't, he would have been home earlier. Typical for Midoriya, always thinking of others before himself. He was going to be a great hero.

As soon as Uraraka got into her apartment, she put her bag on the floor and undressed immediately from her sweaty gym clothes. She took a glass of water before she went into her bathroom and turned on the water.

With her bathrobe wrapped around her damp and otherwise half-naked body, Uraraka sat at her favourite spot, waiting for the lights in all the apartments to be turned off until just one was left on.

There, on the other side of the road outside her building, was one lonesome light turned on in the other building. Uraraka could feel the butterflies fly around in the pit of her stomach with anticipation and a blush grew slowly up on her face as her heartbeat started to beat slightly faster. He was there again. She smiled to herself as she watched the man grab the bar over his head and watched as he pulled himself up in a mechanical rhythm.

When he was done with his pull-ups he walked closer to the window, Uraraka's heart beat faster the closer he got. When he got to the window, the dew that was condensed through his workout made it difficult to see the identity of the man.

Until he opened the window and stuck his head out to get some fresh air.

At that moment, Uraraka's face started to burn as all her blood rushed to her face and it was like her heart stopped from beating. No. Oh no.

xXoOoXx

Satisfied with his workout, Katsuki let go of the bar after his last pull-up and wiped the sweat off his forehead. He was finally starting to do some real progress in the last couple of days and it felt great, it felt awesome, it felt like a little angel had been looking over him or some other weird, sappy shit.

As he walked over to his window to get some fresh air by opening it, he smiled to himself, oh how he loved the feeling of pushing his muscles to the brim and feel the soreness afterwards.

He looked out of the window and noticed only one light was turned on in the other apartments. Tch, what is that Round face doing up this late? She should be sleeping. Ah, there she goes. Does that look like she almost fell? ...Whatever.

Katsuki closed the window again and went under his covers to welcome the much needed sleep.
