A Slightly shorter chapter, as its more of a filler. The next two will have a lot more deph to them. At least they will if everything gose well. Enjoy!

Chapter Six: Sorting

Hecate Looked up from her Marking at the timid knock on the door. It was too timid to be a teacher. Dimity's was always loud. Ada's Purposeful, Miss Bats eccentric. Hecate Briefly wondered what a student would be doing here at this time.

None of them were meant to be here, not unless there was an emergency, and during school times it was highly unlikely. All apart from one Student, who was conveniently staying in the apartment's spare bedroom.

With a sigh, Hecate got up and went over to the door, Setting her pen down on the coffee table as she did. Mildred must have been awfully hopeful that Hecate had actually been in, Given that the Potion teacher could have been doing anything right now. Anywhere.

Hecate opened the door, looking down at Mildred. Mildred slowly looked up, and gave her a forced smile. Hecate's eyes widened slightly. Despite the smile, there was an emptiness in the girl's eyes, and emptiness Hecate knew too well. The Emptiness that was the sign of Hecate and not Joy.

That Cheeky, Cheerful, energetic spark had been put out. To Hecates Surprise, She Vowed to do her best to bring it back. As annoying as it could be, it's saved this school more times than Hecate could admit.

Hecate realised she was starting at Mildred. And Mildred was just staring back. Silently, Hecate Moved out the way so the Student could enter. If Hecate wasn't.. Well.. Hecate, She would have laughed at the look on Mildreds Face when she saw her things.

When Hecate had entered earlier on, she found clothing, broken things, and all sorts of nick nacks scattered over her floor. Falling from the ceiling like rain.

If there's one thing Hecate couldn't stand. It's a mess. Thankfully, with magic it only took a quick spell to place everything into neat piles. They weren't sorted by any means. Just a Pile of Clothing, and neat piles of anything else.

Mildred looked almost bewhilded before her face broke into pure panic.. And then into nothingness. For Hecate, watching the young witch change emotions so quickly was.. Intriguing.

Hecate closed the door and Mildred turned to look at her. "It's Essential for a Witch to know a handy tidying spell incase of emergencies. You may wish to study up on such" Forever talking Business. "I helped with that, But the rest is up to you."

Hecate started to walk over to her chair and table but was stopped when Mildred suddenly cried out "Wait, Miss Hardbroom!" When Hecate slowly turned to raise an eyebrow at the child, she continued, This time far calmer. "I.. Would you mind helping me? My Organisation skills are.. Em.. Questionable?" Mildred stood there Awkwardly waiting for an answer.

"Yes.." Hecate Drawed out. "But!" Her sudden outburst made Mildred jump. "Just this once.."

The Pair walked over to Mildreds Room, Hecate throwing the command to bring a handful of clothing with her. Hecate, upon seeing all the things falling through her home, had decided to place a wardrobe in Mildreds room. It wouldn't all fit in a chest of draws.

Mildred placed the clothing on the Bed before moving to start putting things into the draws, Only to be stopped by Hecate placing them back down onto the bed. "Sort them into the correct Categories first. Then put them away." She all but demanded. "It.. Means you can be more efficient in where they go" She then explained.

Mildred nodded, and went to get the rest of the clothing. "How.. How should I sort it?" She asked, unsure on where anything should go now. Before she just threw things away, or her mother would do it for her..

Hecate was quick to jump in, Understanding that any thoughts of her mother could lead her down a hole. "A Pile that needs to be hung up, One for tops, One for Trousers, Skirts, Other items of that nature that do not need hanging, Same goes for a pile of jumpers, and then a pile of anything else. Understood?"

Mildred nodded slowly. That alone told Hecate that despite the fact that she was listening, she was ever so confused. But despite this, they muddled through. Hecate only snapping once or twice at the girl's lack of thinking. Yet, to her surprise, Those snapping moments seem to spur Mildred into trying harder. Eventually, All the clothing was away.

They moved onto everything else. Mildred dealt with placing her personal effects around the room, and Hecate dealt with putting all the books, dvds and cds onto the bookcase in perfect organisation.

Once all was done, it was almost time for dinner. Hecate turned to Mildred and spoke. "I will be Escorting you to the Hall. What you do after dinner will be up to you, However." Hecate had momentarily forgotten she had detention this evening. She could leave it to someone else, but she didn't trust the other staff to be as strict with it as she will be.

"Oh Okay. I Guess I'll spend some time with Maud and Enid.. Maud's got some homework for us to do" Mildred said. The thought of Mildred actively going out of her way to do homework when she wasn't expected to do today's work was.. Alarming. But, as thought of before. The Girl required something to focus on.

"Very well, Mildred H-How about we leave.." She knew, and Mildred knew, that was not what she was going to say. But she was avoiding the last name like the plague.

Mildred nodded slowly, flashing her teacher a tight smile before walking towards the Hall. After spending the afternoon arguing over where a top would go, she didn't feel as awkward about the young girl. So, Rather than acting as a shadow, two paces behind. She chose to walk beside the girl. At least until she got to the Hall. Once there, she silently left Mildreds side and went to sit at the teachers table. Her eyes however, never left Mildred as the young witch sat with her friends. Eventually however she did turn to talk to Ada, telling her of the plan for the evening. To which Ada thought it was a great idea.
