Whats up lovelies! Ummm, so I'm updating a lot later than planned, but I'm following though so progress, right? This chapter pretty much sucks and I couldn't find where my plot, so if you see them, please let me know.

Disclaimer: I am not a middle aged white man nor do I own anything to do with Flash (the tv show)

As Percy began to reach consciousness, as he laid on the bed, considering his options. It was only 6 ish so no one was up yet with it being the weekend. No one had said anything about what to do in the morning, so he continued to lay still. Eventually, after what seemed like forever, Jason started stirring. The teen seemed to be totally at ease, even though a stranger (me) was in his room. Looking over their shoulder, Percy realized it was already 8:30.

Jason, with sleep heavy in his voice, startled Percy out of my thoughts, "Good Morning newbie! Hope you slept well. I'm going to go get ready for the day, feel free to get up whenever, breakfast is typically around 9:30." Unsurprisingly, the boy wasn't hungry. But Percy nodded his head in encouragement to go on. He went on to explain that Saturdays are cleaning days. Yay. Percy had no clue what to do so after Jason left, heading to the bathroom, he pulled a book from my bag. Even though he had dyslexia, Percy tried to read a book a month, as suggested by a teacher aid back in third grade. Apparently, the more you read, the easier it will become. But, that seemed like a load of crap seeing as it still took him over an hour to even get through a chapter. The letters just seemed to float off the page and transform into pictures and words that made no sense no matter how much Percy stared and strained his eyes.

After about 20 minutes, his roommate popped back into the room, with evidence of a shower being that his hair seemed to be soaking wet still. "Oooooooh, is that The Hunger Games series?! Piper and Frank love those. They keep trying to convince everyone to read them." Jason had a huge smile on his face, as he continued on. "Feel free to use the bathroom now. If you don't have your own stuff, there are extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, body wash, ect. in the cabinet when you walk in. I'm gonna finish getting dressed and then head down to the living room to see if anyone else is up. Come find me when you're done." With a smile on his face, Jason left the room. Seeing as Percy wasn't getting far in the book, he swung my legs around and headed to the bathroom. With a sigh, he opened the cabinet and boy, that thing was stocked. Gabe never really let him use money to get personal hygiene stuff, so he had come with nothing. Grabbing some shampoo + conditioner 2 in 1 and some body wash, he headed into the shower. It felt so good to get a week of grime off his body. Because Gabe never wanted to pay the water bill, Percy could only shower on Mondays when the gym showers were open.

Percy continued to get ready by drying off, brushing teeth, and picking the least dirty clothes in his bag. He would have to ask where he could wash his stuff soon. Heading down stairs, his anxiety spiked, as he thought about socializing with people he didn't know. Like, he could say one wrong thing and Boom, everyone hates him. What if he did the wrong thing and got punished. How would he know? Taking a deep breath to stabilize his heart rate, Percy pushed down all the fears and entered the unknown. He took a left at the bottom of the stairs, assuming Jason and everybody else was in the living room, like he said. After giving a quick look around and noticing that nobody was there, he started to panic. See, Percy had no clue where anybody was and he doubted anybody would come looking for him soon. So, while it might not have been the best solution, Percy proceeded to sit down on the stairs in an attempt to lessen the tightness in my chest. After about 5 minutes, he heard footsteps advancing. Quickly I stood up and composed myself before looking around for the source. From the kitchen/dining area (if he remembered correctly), Frank approached with a relaxed smile on his face. "Hey! I was wondering if we were going to see you before breakfast." Looking up, Percy noticed he had a genuinely happy expression on his face. But, you could see that in his eyes he held pain. Just like me, Percu thought.

It's interesting how people's eyes can tell you so much, but almost nobody really looks at them. The purpose of eyes is so much more than what most realize. Not only are they a large part of how people perceive the world, they also act as little windows into your soul. When you truly look into someone's eyes, there are so many possibilities of what you'll see. Maybe a cold, hard glare will be returned. Or, you could watch as eye contact is made and a huge smile that reaches the others eyes will grow across their face. Joy, sadness, pain, bitterness are just a few of the possibilities.

Clearing his throat, Frank reminded Percy of his presence. "Oh, ya. I just woke up," Percy brilliantly responded. While he don't mind some good silence, Frank seemed to think it was awkward by the way he stared and shuffled his feet. "Um, do you wanna join us for breakfast? I think we're having french toast or something." Something that maybe could have resembled a smile crossed his face. Nodding his head, Percy began to follow Frank who had already turned back the way he came.

As Percy walked through the entryway, he finally noticed the rain which seemed to be pouring down outside. While it may not be like in the movies how when something sad is happening it starts to rain, it certainly added to the already gloomy feel around him. When Percy looked up to see where Frank was leading him, he realized that everybody was just in the dining room right across from where he had panicked. Gosh, sometimes it was so easy for Percy to get blind-sided when he panicked even when there was a logical explanation. It's like his brain just refuses any reasoning and decides to just pack up, leave, and scream on the way out. Fully embarrassed (though he hoped it didn't show) Percy sat down and joined the rest of the household at the table. It seemed as if everyone was their but who knew seeing as Percy could barely recognise these people.

Breakfast, in one word, was loud. It seemed as if the chatter and teasing never stopped. While trying to conceal his panic and fear over the amount of people around him, Percy just kind of sat and observed. The small latino, Leo, I think though Percy, as this somewhat mischievous grin with eyes that danced around, almost looking for new toys to blow up. He and Piper, the kaleidoscope eye girl, looked to be in an intense battle over who could drink a cup of syrup fastest. Jason was caught in a debate with scary gray eyes over politics? Percy was confused as to why kids were so concerned with the governmental world, but hey, who was he to judge. He enjoyed learning about marine life cycles and sketching the horrors of his mind so he probably shouldn't have a say.

Eventually Hazel, whom he met at the door, glanced over at him and smiled. Apparently , everyone else took this as a cue to greet him. Piper started talking first, "Good morning, Percy! I hope you slept well." Percy just smiled and nodded too overwhelmed to respond. "We are going to do most of our chores today, so feel free to check in with Chiron over what he would like you to do and," Jason stated straight down to business, "when we are all done we are going to do a Flash marathon!" No one else seemed as enthusiastic about this 'marathon' as Jason and Leo were. Apparently, not everyone shares their love for superheroes.

Nodding along, Percy just listened as everyone chimed over who had to do what and which superhero was the best. Thalia was sending him death glares the whole time, but also a really kind smile, so let's just say it was some confusing signals.

Afterwards, Percy visited Chiron who just said for today he could wash his clothes and make sure he had everything he needed for school on Monday. Oh, right, he gets to start a new school two days after arriving at a new house. Yay, go government planned education that never adapts to anyone's personal needs! Percy knew first-hand how ruthless teachers could be even when he had his ADHD and Dyslexia diagnosis. It seemed even the teachers who had your best interest at heart couldn't do much to help because of how crappy the school system was.

By the end of the day, Percy was ready to scream and cry. Everything was just so new and different. His brain felt like it was on overload. Too make matters worse, everyone tried talking to him so much that he couldn't escape. Most of his replies were single-worded and didn't reveal any of his past which most respected, but Thalia sure did pry. After asking for the third time what his childhood was like, Annabeth finally told her to quit and leave Percy alone. Dinner passed by pretty uneventfully but it still was so much more than he was used too. Whether it was the food, the talking, the amount of people, or what, everything just seemed larger. Which, in case you didn't know, was terrifying. After living a life trying to be quiet and avoid confrontation, Percy wasn't used to people being so out there and bold.

Sunday was quite normal though, and for the most part Percy stayed in his room reading. As soon as he finished The Hunger Games, Percy wanted to read The Book Thief, which he was gifted to him by his 8th grade English teacher. But that would be a long ways in the future. Percy tended to go unnoticed the rest of the weekend, which was fine by him. If he had it his way, he would go live in a cabin up in the woods of Alaska for the rest of his life. He wouldn't have to talk to anyone except for wild-life, he could rely on himself for food and such, plus it was waaaaaay more quiet and peaceful. Honestly, what are the cons? Percy never enjoys being with people anyway, they always either end up hurting him or getting hurt themselves. Based on this evidence, Percy is terrified of getting close to people. So, obviously, he had no friends. But that is not as sad as it sounds, because he likes it that way. Everyone is safer if they don't know and care about Percy Jackson. Plus, it means Percy doesn't have to worry about what he might be doing to hurt them. In reality, it's a win-win situation. It was decided. As soon as Percy turned 18, he would leave the world behind and no one would ever have to worry or think about him again. Besides, look at the last person who cared about him. His mom. A beautiful woman whose heart was a thousand times bigger than the normal person's. The lady who always had a tender smile, a hug, and warm cookies ready for whenever you felt down. This was the woman who worked night and day to keep you housed. The woman who sacrificed so much so you could have a decent life. And what compensation did she get? That's right, death. So ya, the world was a mean, cruel, and hard place that cared nothing about you, your family, or warm blue chocolate chip cookies. Nope, the world just took, took, took. It was so unfair.

Sometime after 3am, Percy fell asleep, anxious about the day that awaited him and frustrated and the world for just being ruthless.

FYI, updates will probably take awhile until i get in the grove and get better at writing in itself.
