I was waiting next to a cafe as I saw a Mercedes pull up next to me. I got into the backseat as Hope was occupying the front.

"Who was it?" Marcel asked me as he started to pull into the traffic.

"My ex." I said, closing my eyes.

"Which one?"

"The crazy one."

"Aurora. How are you……"

"You went out with Aurora?" Hope cut in.

"Kid, you need to start letting people finish their sentences. Yes, I went out with Aurora but that was just to get intel on Klaus. Specifically on how to draw his attention."

"So you used her?"

"To be fair, she used me too."

"That doesn't…."

"That's enough. What did she want?" Marcel intervened. I told him what had happened in the alley.

"So she is protecting the gods." Hope said, anger detectable in her voice.

"What are you going to do now? Do you have a plan?" Marcel asked me.

"Yeah, when do I not have a plan? Let's go home. I am hungry." I said.

We pulled into the driveway and the three of us headed into the kitchen. Freya was busy cooking while listening to music. Nik was sleeping in his crib placed in the dining room, visible to Freya.

"How was the shopping?" Freya asked us as we walked in.

"Life threateningly dangerous. So pretty much the usual." I said as I placed the bag on the dining table. On cue, Nik started to cry and Hope rushed to calm him down. Rebekah vamped into the dining room.

"I thought I heard the car," She said, giving Marcel a kiss, "Kol is on his way. When I told him you were here he booked tickets just so he could pay you back."

"Well that's good. I'll leave tomorrow." I said.

"You are not planning to take the gods by themselves are you?" Marcel said.

"Well, no. I am not going to fight the gods myself. I was going to go after Aurora." I said.

"You still have to recover. You can't possibly think you can take Aurora and her goons by yourself?"

"Marcel, I have done worse in much worse conditions. Besides, it's Aurora, I could take her blindfolded with a hand tied."

"Is that why you ran from her then?"

"That was different. It won't be tomorrow."

"Right, cause you built Rome in a day."

"Hey, if I had been alive then, I could have. Also, I didn't fight her today because she was surrounded by witches and my chip's busted."

"What chip?" Freya said, heading towards us.

"I have a chip embedded here," I said, pointing to the space between the first two bones of my spinal cord, "The chip produces destructive waves and cancels out any incoming magic waves so I am not affected by them. During my fight with the gods, the reason they won was, they realized that if they acted together their magic affected me. The chip overheated and burnt into my spinal cord, which is probably why my vampire healing did not kick in. All I need to do now is make a new chip with a slight upgrade."

"The reason you are immune to magic is because of technology? Why have I never come across this?" Hope said.

"Well because none are as brilliant as I." I said.

"How long have you been using it?"

"I got the idea after I helped Alan Turing make the Colossus. But the chips I started using recently from 1991." Everyone was staring at me and we sat in silence until someone's phone rang. Rebekah picked up her phone and walked out. Slowly, everyone started to get back to their own things. I took the bags I had brought back from shopping and went into my room.

Minutes later, Marcel knocked on my door and walked in holding a box of tools.

"Thank you." I said, as I picked up a screwdriver.

"Yeah alright. Kol's on his way from the airport. He'll be here in an hour. Come down for dinner then." Marcel said, looking around the room.

"Will do." I said as I showed him out.

Once he was out, I took the stuff out of the bags. Clothes, phones, a watch, two sets of earpods and a laptop. I took one of the earpods and sat down to admire it. I put them on the table, got a hammer and smashed the headphones to smithereens.

I searched the wreckage for the noise cancellation chip. I put the chip into the computer and erased its coding. I took out a code from my cloud and started to encode the chip. I did this to both sets on all four chips. Once I was done, I took out the watch from its container. It was a G-shock. Nothing too fancy. I opened up the back and started to make space for the chips, using magic here and there to make space. I closed the back, made sure the watch worked and got to work on the phones. I took one of the Samsungs, connected it to my laptop and ran a program that uninstalled the original Os while installing a custom OS I had designed myself. While the installation happened, I set up the other two phones.

I looked at the time and realised I had to go down in five minutes. Taking a quick bath, I got dressed and headed down.
