In September 1985, brand new shows aired on ABC on Sunday Nights & Mondays on before ABC's Monday Night Football. 3 of them were really popular on the network.
Growing up in Bridgeton: A dramedy about teenage friends who find their lives upended by the wonders of being a teenager, the horrors of Middle School, and harshness of growing up. The show got praise from critics, but had a divisive audience, praising the storylines and character development, but criticizing the crass and lowbrow humor. The show would last until 1993.
Hey Arnold: The everyday life of Arnold, an average boy in a nameless city that resembles Brooklyn, New York, who lives in a multi-racial boarding house with his grandparents and a motley assortment of friends and neighbors. The show garnered acclaim from Critics and Audience for its storytelling, going as far as favorably comparing it to Frasier. It lasted until 1991 and ended its run on ABC completely with a TV Movie in November 1992 called Arnold's Jungle Adventure.
And one notable show came to mind, it was The Loud House.
It was about Lincoln Loud, who is a ten-year-old boy who lives with ten sisters. With the help of his right-hand man Clyde, Lincoln finds new ways to survive in such a large family every day.
It was widely cited as Kate Delisle's first serious acting role as she played the bratty sister, Lola, and the one that first launched her into the stardom she would later accumulate in her teens.
The show was 2nd highest in ratings, the show was never popular with critics, who thought it was unintelligent, a waste of time, and a saccharine Cliché Storm. Nonetheless, it was universally praised by audiences (and lasted 8 seasons) and is overall remembered fondly by fans, particularly those who grew up in the '90s. The show would get its spin-off, the Critically Acclaimed, Ed, Edd n' Eddy, which would air from 1989 to 1996, it would have a theatrical feature length film in 1993.
The star of the show, Lionel Palmer was selfish off-camera compared to his compassionate character, Lincoln Loud. He often gave advice that rubbed the wrong way with his castmates. And Vincent Jackson, the actor who played Clyde, HATED Lionel for his selfishness and thoughtlessness. He got along with the actors who played the bullies on the show more than he did get along with the people who played his friends and family.
Since the Loud House's cancelation in 1992, things have changed.
Cathy Taberine, the Actress who played Lori on the show, is now residing in Arizona, teaching English at Arizona State.
Lilith Jessica, the Actress who played Leni on the show, moved back to Canada, working at a Hardware Store with her husband.
Nicole Francess Jr., the Actress who played Luna on the show, is now an architect in New York City.
Allison Bradley, the Actress who played Luan on the show, went on to do stand-up comedy.
Yancy Jones, the Actress who played Lynn Jr, on the show, is now an activist.
Sophia Ryder, the Actress who played Lucy on the show, is now the owner of a Library in Lake Michigan.
Mary and Kate Delisle, the twin actresses who played Lola and Lana, went their separate ways, Mary became a Zoologist, studying animals and other wildlife and how they interact with their ecosystems. Kate became a successful pop singer in the Early to Mid 2000s, with her debut album, adopting a more adult image while doing so.
Louise Fischel Jr., the Actress who played Lisa, on the show, is now a tour guide in Rhode Island.
And finally, the actress who plays Lily, Grey Blake, is studying for her Law School degree, graduating from High School as an honors student.
Meanwhile, Lionel hasn't been doing much, living off the fortune he's gained from The Loud House, as well as minor roles in films across the 90s. He would become more selfish and irresponsible. But this is where his story begins...
Author's Note: Well, now you know about Lionel Palmer and her castmates. Next Chapter, Lionel's life after The Loud House. The Next Chapter may take a while, so be patient...
