Episode Two: Meeting The Parents
"Do I look okay Mar Mar?" asked Ash, "Are my horns too short? Not short enough? Should I change my hair color? Ah! I should ditch the beanie." "Ashla," stated Marcy, putting her hands on her shoulders, "It's not a big deal. You're just meeting my parents." "Yeah!" exclaimed Ash, "It's my chance for a good first impression!" "Look, if it makes you feel any better, I'm nervous too," said Marcy, "The last time I spoke to them, I screamed at them and told them that they ruined my life." Ash sighed and straightened out her hoodie, which she obviously stole from Marcy. "Just relax," she told her, "We'll be okay… Hopefully." She then rang the doorbell. "Hopefully?!" questioned Ash, "What does that mean!?" Just then, Marcy's dad opened the door. Ash immediately shut up and looked at him nervously. "Welcome home Marcy," he said sternly, "Please come in you two." The couple stepped inside the nice home and let Mr. Wu lead them to the living room, where Mrs. Wu awaited. They sat down on the couch and Mr. Wu stood beside where his wife was sitting in the loveseat. "So…" said Marcy, "About me running away…" "We completely understand your reasons," sighed Mrs. Wu, "But please, don't ever scare us like that again!" "You were gone for more than five months!" clarified Mr. Wu, "We were so worried that we'd never see you again. And the last thing we had ever done with you was break your heart." Ash sat there uncomfortably while the Wu family talked to each other. Marcy started to feel a lot more comfortable with her family and started telling them about her adventures, minus the part where she got stabbed for… obvious reasons. "Oh my gosh, I completely forgot!" realized Marcy, "This is Ashla Moltono. She's been with me every step of the way." "So you're the one the Boonchuys told us about," stated Mrs. Wu, "Why do you have horns? Are you some kind of demon?" Mr. Wu slowly reached for some incense. "Not at all," sighed Ash, "This is kind of a sensitive topic, but I was kinda sorta… possessed by an ancient Amphibian hivemind that wanted to take control of the entire multiverse." The Wu parents stared blankly at her. Ash smiled nervously and showed her fangs. "These are just some physical side effects," she stated. "Her, Anne, Sasha, and I all went through so much," said Marcy, "We've all grown. And yeah, we all had our flaws. Anne had to gain a bunch of responsibility when she got to Amphibia, Sasha turned into a genuine friend and stopped being so manipulative, I had to make up with my friends for possibly trapping them in Amphibia on purpose, and Ash had to come clean about where she was really from and deal with a ton of emotional baggage." "I gotta say," stated Ash, "I did the most growth while crying in the Boonchuy's guest room." Marcy sighed and stood up. "Could you help me out here Ash?" she asked. Ash nodded and waved her hand over Marcy's back, making that part of her shirt transparent. She turned around and revealed the stab wound to her parents. "What happened!?" Mrs. Wu stressed. "Who did this to you?!" questioned Mr. Wu. Marcy's shirt went back to normal and her and Ash sat back down. "I assure you," said Ash, "The one who did this is never getting out of the dimension I trapped it in." "We all got our battle scars from our adventure, but in the end, we all grew. But… I'm not sorry for running away," admitted Marcy. Her parents gasped. "Getting stuck in Amphibia was the best thing that ever happened to all of us," continued Marcy, "Sasha would still be the same queen of mean she always was, Anne would still go along with whatever she said, I'd living here away from the only friends I've ever known, and I never would've met Ashla." Marcy grabbed Ash's hand and smiled at her. Ash smiled back and looked at Marcy's parents. "Ashla Moltono is my girlfriend and I don't care what you say about it," Marcy said sternly. Mr. Wu approached them. He knelt down to Marcy's level and stared into her eyes. He then pulled her into a big hug. "What?" she questioned. "Get in here!" he exclaimed, pulling Ash in as well. "Not what I was expecting," gasped Ash, trying not to hit Mr. Wu with her horns. "I always knew!" he exclaimed, letting them go, "Pay up!" Mrs. Wu rolled her eyes and handed him a twenty dollar bill. "I always knew you'd end up with a girlfriend! I was originally hoping for it to be Anne, but Ashla works too." "I'm sorry what?" asked Marcy. "Marcy," said Ash, turning to her, "I love your family."
Ash and Marcy turned back and smiled at the Wus. "I'll see you guys next weekend!" exclaimed Marcy excitedly. "Have fun!" said Mrs. Wu. "Portal safely!" advised Mr. Wu. "Will do," said Ash with a salute, creating a portal to the Boonchuy house. They then stepped through, leaving a couple of proud parents behind.
