He felt an immense amount of anger. Anger towards Konoha. Anger towards Naruto. Anger towards himself. To his home, his clan, his eyes. His damn eyes he couldn't even use properly anymore for who knows what reason. Ever since he had woken up he was only able to see blobs of shapes and colour, objects and people only being able to be a blur to him. Though as much as this would have been a dream come true when he was younger- to ignore the existence of others- it was a hell of an annoyance now. Now, armless on the right, half-blind, and half-dead, he needed to depend on people now or else he would meet the other half of the path to death. His days now consisted of staring at the hospital's ceiling, listening in to the continuous beeps of the heart monitor.
The longer he stayed, the longer time he had let his mind wander in his deepest thoughts and memories. Now, that was the true torture he had to go through. Not from the torment he receives every time someone visits him once in a while. Not the ANBU's constant questions and threats, not Tsunade's harsh words, not Naruto's overbearingly loud voice, and not Sakura's pathetic attempts at love and comfort. It was his mind that truly was the source of his becoming madness.
This was truly hell. Though Konoha had finally reached the peace everyone fought so hard for, he felt that now he was at war with his own body. Memories of his family, and guilt for his brother, all rushed through his brain continuously with no signs of stopping. He needed to escape. He needed to leave the hospital that he was trapped in and be released from the torturous pain in his mind.
Sasuke bolted out of bed, uncaring of the iv needle that ripped through his skin or the muscles in his body that screamed at him to stop from the sudden use after being bedridden for several months. He reached for the window he figured would be beside him from the occasional chilly breeze he felt on his bed and jumped through. He hadn't even thought about what floor he was on which had unfortunately made him go crashing down for longer than he had expected. Luckily, he had landed on a soft enough surface, to what he thought was snow, which had reduced the damage of the fall. He quickly got up and limped away to any direction that wasn't towards the hospital and hopefully, to any civilians and ninjas as well.
The longer ran away, with great struggle, the stronger he felt his consciousness try to leave him. Perhaps what he had done was a foolish thing to do but it was damn enough to distract himself, even if it was for a short amount of time. He managed to sit on a nearby bench to calm his fast-beating heart that also somehow began to hurt. Sasuke rubbed his eyes with the futile hope that his sight would clear up just like any other day. He sighed with frustration and attempted to punch the wall. Instead, he hit the lamp beside him, causing a large banging sound that rang in his ears. He clenched the sides of his head and moaned in pain.
He hoped to god he was only dreaming right now. That the pathetic state he was in was only part of his imagination. Hell, he would even be grateful if he was just stuck in a genjutsu.
That's it! He had to be in a genjutsu. That had to be the reason for this god-forsaken situation he was in. Sasuke broke out in laughter, though it was much too strained to even be considered as one. He stopped when he heard the sudden call of his name near him. Who dares approach him?
"S-Sauke-kun?"
"Who's there?!"
He looked at the source of the voice, but much to avail all he was able to see wasn't able to figure out who it was. Though judging from the high tone of the voice it was a female. The girl seemed to have stepped closer and he was able to figure out she had long black hair and pale skin. Her features seemed way too familiar to him. But who? Who was she? Sasuke clutched the sides of his head, the painful headache he had before resurging. It wasn't Sakura, not Karin, nor any of the other female Sound ninjas he had met before. But he knew, deep down, sometime way back in the past, in the deepest part of his memories, he had met her before.
"Sasuke-kun?"
He heard her repeat his name again in the same soft voice she had. Sasuke-kun, Sasuke-kun, Sasuke-kun. Who said that before? The image of his mother flashed in his mind.
It couldn't be. He covered his eyes as he felt his body tremble. It couldn't be his mother, it just wasn't possible. She was dead, he saw her death, her blood, her lifeless eyes, with his own.
This was a genjutsu. It had to be and whoever dared cast this on him was going to fucking pay.
"It's me, Hin-"
Before she was able to finish she was roughly pushed to the ground, unable to get back up when the Uchiha in front of her sat on top of her stomach. "W-Wha-" Once again she was cut off by two strong hands- that really shouldn't be in his condition- clenching her throat with such sheer force she already felt her windpipe being damaged. Just as she tried to pry his hands off of her in between gasps of air, she noticed he kept repeating the same phrase so many times it even started to freak her out.
"You're not 're not 're not 're not 're not her. WHO ARE YOU?!"
He didn't wait for a reply that she literally couldn't even bring out words in her mouth and tightened his grip. "I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU."
Hinata choked and gagged, tears running down her cheeks from the brutal pain. Before he could press any harder and actually kill her, she quickly hit a chakra point on the side of his head to render him unconscious. Just as his body dropped on top of her, she quickly pushed him off to start healing the damage made to her neck. Soon, her gasps of air became harsh breathing to long inhales and exhales as the soft green glow from her hand reformed her windpipe back to normal. She was glad she received a bit of healing training from Sakura. She ought to thank the professional medical ninja later.
Just as soon it completely healed, she attempted to stand but she fell on her knees instead. She felt even more tears rolling down her cheeks. Hinata clutched her chest in an attempt to calm herself down. That was scary. Too scary. She was currently a nurse for the hospital nearby and was just heading home when she noticed a trail of blood leading from a window to the outside. She followed the trail which lead her to him. Sasuke Uchiha with a white hospital now tainted by his blood from the damage to his feet, arm, and eyes. He must have tried to use his kekkai genkai.
Hinata crawled towards him to heal the physical damages. She was going to have to carry him back to the hospital. Though maybe after she gets her legs working again.
