Dean had brought Sam home safe after rescuing him. Sam was a mess when he found him tied to the chair and bleeding heavily. They were now in Bobby's house while the angels went away to take care if heaven. Sam was sleeping peacefully in his bed and Dean was carding his fingers into his brother's hair to keep the nightmares away. Sam twisted and turned in his sleep, indicating a nightmare and Dean would calm him down.
Dean's own eyes were excreting tears. His brother had been tortured by AN ANGEL. Sam always believed in God and Angels ever since he was a little boy and now being tortured by an angel had to be hard for the kid. Dean wiped his eyes. He had promised Sam that he would keep him safe since he was 4 years old but the past year had been very difficult for both of them. Dean was so focused on the fact that Sam turned to ruby instead of him that he didn't notice the intention behind Sam's actions. The fact that Sam hadn't killed Lillith even though he was powerful enough to take her down truly showed that the kid did the right thing in the end and didn't let his revenge come in the way for the world to end.
Dean was guilty as hell and he needed to apologize to his brother for the way he acted these past few days. He just wanted his brother to wake up. "Hey, Sammy, you've ben asleep for too damn long, think you can wake now up, kiddo?" Dean asked, running his fingers in his hair. Sam started to come around with the touch and finally he opened his eyes. He saw Dean's happy face infront of him. "De'n... You... saved ... me" Sam smiled at his brother. "Ofcourse I did, Sammy. I would always save you, kiddo" Dean said and Sam shifted his head in his brother's lap.
"Dean" Sam started. "Yeah, Sammy?" Dean asked. "I forgive you" Sam said and Dean felt like Mount Everest had been lifted up from his chest. "Thank you so much, Sammy. I really needed to hear that, kiddo. And I forgive you too, little brother" Dean said and Sam snuggled nore in his brother's lap with Dean carding his fingers in his hair. Soon they both falled asleep and Gabriel, Castiel and Bobby smiled at the sight they saw. The Winchester boys were okay and now the world was also safe.
