"You have to promise me you'll take this monster-proof phone. I have to make sure you'll be okay." Annabeth warned. "I already don't like that you're being sent on a quest all by yourself, but I at least want to be able to know if you're and hurt and I need to come and save you.

"All right, but I promise I'll be safe. And I'll call you daily. It's only a week..." He looked off into the sunset. "But it's a lot of time if I'm away from you. It was the worst time of my life when Hera took me away from you. It won't be like that ever again. But this quest isn't very dangerous, okay? I can handle it."

"What exactly do you need to do, Percy?" Asked Leo.

"A minor God is trapped in the Underworld." Percy responded.

"The Underworld!?" Annabeth glared at him. "You're not going to the Underworld without me! You can't! It's too dangerous! No! NO! NO!"

"Annabeth, I have permission from Hades... he's not happy about it, but I do. So, he can't harm me. I'll be okay." He smiled nervously at her. "I'll be okay. You can call me whenever." Annabeth frowned.

"Fine. When do you leave?" Percy looked at his watch.

"Right now." He gathered up his weapons and backpack. "I love you. I'll call you whenever and wherever I get the chance." He kissed her on the cheek. Annabeth watched as he left, feeling sad on the inside. She remembered what he had said to her a long while ago. "'We're staying together,' He promised. 'You're not getting away from me. Never again'" (A/N. The quote is from Mark of Athena.) She wasn't sure if that was so true anymore. But she trusted and believed in him. She knew that he wanted to stay here. She knew that he had no other option but to go. Maybe she could find another meaning to that quote...

A day later, Annabeth called Percy to see if he was there yet. "Hello, Annabeth! I'm glad you called because I'm still riding on Blackjack, really bored, and making my way to D.O.A Records."

"So, you're not physically damaged? Good, good. Always good." Annabeth and Percy laughed.

"I may not be physically damaged, but I'm always been mentally damaged. I'm kinda stupid." Annabeth found that one especially hilarious and true.

"Oh... I've got to go. We just got here. I miss you. Love you."

"Goodbye, Percy. I love you." He hung up and sighed, glancing at the record store.

"Here I go..."

Annabeth called him every day. On the sixth day... well, there was a problem.

"Uh, hey Annabeth." Percy said in a rough, pained voice. She heard rocked crumbling and a scream. A loud crackling noise came from his end of the phone. The call ended with Annabeth screaming to ask Percy if he was all right, and no answer. She dropped her phone with her eyes wide. Malcom came into the room looking nervous.

"Are you all right? I heard you yelling at Percy." Annabeth fell on the floor crying.

"I knew he shouldn't have gone alone! I should've gone with him!" Annabeth sobbed. Malcom gasped.

"Did something bad happen? Is he okay?"

"I don't know!" She wiped her tears away, her eyes red and swollen. "But what if he's not okay? What would I do? How would I find him?"

Malcom thought for a moment. "The only way to find him is to find him, Annabeth. You know where he went. Go find him.'

"I need help." She sniffed. "Can you?"

Malcom pursed his lips. "I can't this time, but I'm sure that Piper would want to go with you. She's seemed bored often. You could take her with you."

Annabeth smiled weakly and left the cabin to go ask Piper.

"Of course I will!" Piper said.

When they arrived at the boat where Charon rows you to the Underworld, Annabeth hesitated. She was scared of how hurt Percy might be. She wondered if he was even hurt.

She reluctantly hopped on the boat to the Underworld. They ran to Hades' throne room and asked where Percy went.

"He went to a hole over there." Hades pointed twenty feet to his left, in a dark cave. "To find the God." Annabeth gasped.

"Oh no, oh no." She muttered. "How deep is the hole?"

"Mmm... I'd say about thirty feet." Annabeth quickly ran toward the hole.

"Hello?" She nervously called down. She heard someone weakly muttering, not able to form any words. "Is this Percy Jackson?"

"Y-yes... I-is this A-Annabeth?" The person at the bottom of the hole definitely sounded like Percy. Piper leaned near the hole, seeing dim-green eyes looking back up at her. She nearly jumped.

"He's definitely in there." She remarked. "Though his eyes aren't as bright..."

"He's hurt." Annabeth cried. "We have to get him out of there!" Annabeth grabbed a rope out of her backpack and lured it down the hole. "You got it, Percy? Can you grab on?"

He gripped the rope tight and Annabeth quickly pulled him up and hugged him tight.

"Are you all right?" She asked.

She looked him over. He had cuts and bruises and was limping on one leg.

He noticed her looking at his leg. "I think I broke it." He sighed. "It was stupid of me to go by myself.

"That doesn't matter right now. I love you and I was scared half-to-death when the call ended like that. Are you okay? We need to take you back and fix your leg." She kept rambling and rambling when Piper cleared her throat.

"He's obviously hurt. We need to take him back to camp. Did you find the missing god?"

Percy nodded. "He flew out of here. I was just about to leave when a monster pushed me in the hole." Annabeth cried on his shoulder.

"I'm glad you're okay." She sniffled.

They quickly made their way back to camp and fixed Percy's leg.

Percy and Annabeth sat on the docks, looking at the shimmering river. The sun was about to rise and the day was just starting. Annabeth smiled at Percy.

"I'm glad you're back and not too hurt, seaweed brain." Percy smirked.

"Me too, wise girl."

Annabeth kissed him. "Was it fun?"

"Without you? No way!" Annabeth laughed and put an arm around him.

"Well, I've learned my lesson." Percy said.

"Good. You had a lot of lessons to learn from that. Like don't go on quests without your girlfriend. You'll regret it."

"Well, I have one thing to say." He spoke.

"And what is that?" Annabeth asked.

"This time, you truly won't be getting away from me. Never again."

And they never were away from each other ever again. It's just too hard. They love each other too much for that. "We'll always be together." Annabeth promised.
