AN: ignore the time flow… we don't talk about her… don't think about it… it's more or less fine but then also maybe questionable

Ch 19b: Someone say déjà vu?

"Andddd cheers!" A random student shouts before they all clinked glasses. "This is the last chance we have to get wasted before finals so drink up guys! Cheers!" They brought their glasses together again and to lead the way, he chugged his entire mug of beer in one go.

"Let's get wasted!"

"Wooh!"

"Yeah!"

Taking a small sip of her drink, Korra couldn't believe this situation. One moment, she was spending the night in her girlfriend's luxurious courtyard house, the next, she was bombarded with texts by her best friend before being dragged to some uni department mixer the next day

"I feel like shit."

Kuvira smacks her back from behind.

"Energy shots on me."

"The fuck is that." Korra groans while unintentionally giving her a tired glare. "Here I was planning to sleep like a hog money for the whole day yet here I am," she gestures outward, "at a mixer."

Her friend only plops down on the seat next to her before wrapping her arm around Korra's shoulder. "Come on play with me will yah? I feel like I haven't seen you in years."

Korra only hums at that. "True… it feels like this year has been a few years and it's not even over yet."

They started munching on some snacks and chicken skewers. A few mugs in, they tossed around some words within their group before eventually, the topic grew elsewhere. When the moment was right, Kuvira turned to Korra with a neutral look. Her mouth opened and she spoke out a single phrase.

"You good?'

Korra didn't even flinch. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"..."

Her friend frowns at that before leaning in closer to speak up so that Korra was the only one that could hear her.

"Well for starters… you get kidnapped. After that, you act like nothing's wrong and then get into some sort of fight with Sato, and then bam, you end up going on a trip with her for a few weeks. So you tell me, what's up?"

Korra opens her mouth but before she gets out a word, Kuvira beats her to it.

"And don't give me that 'everything's fine' bullshit. What are we? Strangers or something? Talk to me."

"..."

A moment passes before Korra lets out a sigh. "Well… I'd be lying if I said I wasn't affected at all. That type of shit is scary, you know?" Kuvira nods and waits for Korra to start speaking again. "I… I can't stop thinking about it." She then looks at her hand with a sullen look. "About watching Asami getting attacked and knocked out. That terrified me more than fending for myself you know. It didn't help that the mastermind behind the whole ordeal was her dad. I don't think I've ever felt so much…" she clutched her chest, unable to shake off the tight feeling constricting her every breath. "I don't know how to put it into words."

Kuvira looked off to the side feeling empathy for her. "I am truly sorry that happened to both you and Asami. My aunt told me about what had happened…" she then looked up at the ceiling before adding a lighter comment, "After some scolding of course."

Korra chuckled, "Scolding for what?"

"Mmh… about being friends with you and not watching out for your back! And stuff like that."

She laughed again, "It wasn't your fault though."

"I know." She eyes Korra carefully before adding, "And it wasn't your fault either so you should stop beating yourself up about it."

An eyebrow twitched. "I'm not beating myself about it."

Kuvira just rolled her eyes. "Oh please, princess." She smirked at Korra's glare. "Knowing you, I bet you had the thought at some point."

"What do you mean—"

She cuts Korra off before she could continue.

Clapping her hands dramatically together, Kuvira spoke in a dreamy voice. "If only I had gotten there quicker, I could've saved her!" Korra jutted back in response. "Orrrr, I couldn't protect my boo, how could I!"

Korra's mouth dropped before she quickly snapped back. "I do not sound like that!"

"Heh," Kuvira snapped her fingers, "But you didn't deny it."

"Urgh, I did not—" she twitches from her steeled look. "Okay okay, fine… I will not deny that that did cross through my mind a few times."

"Hmph, so I was right." With a slight sigh, Kuvira leaned back comfortably in her seat before fiddling around with some chicken skewers. "Is she alright?"

Korra sat up comfortably again. "In which way?"

"Mentally of course."

"..." Holding a blank look, Korra thought back to the detailed observations that she made over the past few days. "She's… doing better. She's acting like normal…" she then sighs before taking a sip of her beer and leaning back in her chair. "But… poker face or not, I can tell that she's bottling it in. She's cried a lot already… though now that I think about it, I think that's just the way she coops. Rather than lingering around and wallowing over something futile, I think pouring herself into her work is how she's coping."

Kuvira hums before taking a swig as well. "Well… we all cope differently. I don't think it's bad to immerse yourself in work, it keeps your mind busy after all. It's just that if you pour your everything into it, what will be left after it's over? At some point in time, you're going to hit a wall. You'll be trapped in your own mind which is what I'm worried about."

"Since when were you interested in Asami?"

"Since you started liking her."

Korra blushed. "But I told you that I wasn't—"

"Oh please, you can't fool me. It's as obvious as day Kor."

"That's—" Korra groaned before asking, "How'd you know?"

"From the way you looked at her obviously you dunce. I've seen you around with plenty of people throughout your friendships but you've never had that look with someone. You and her both. That… and also the fact that you went on a trip with her despite insistently denying that you don't and won't cross that line with her." She then eyes Korra's face precautiously, "And I see that you've made up with her."

Korra's lips puckered by reflex before she asked with a skeptical face. "How'd you know?"

"Heh, it's as clear as day sweet cheeks, clearrrr as day."

With a sigh of defeat, Korra admitted her loss. "Am I that obvious?"

"To me, yeah."

"..."

"..."

They sat there in silence for a moment before indulging in some more snacks and beer. After a second, Korra stared at her glass with an empty mind. Someone ends up offering her a refill which she accepts with a smile before watching the white fizz float up to the top. Then, after a small debate, she decided to tell Kuvira.

"Kuvira, I have something to confess."

Her friend takes a bite out of some grilled meat before humming to prompt Korra to continue.

"I… I actually started dating Asami."

Kuvira froze at that statement before turning to face her. She let that comment sink in before finally reacting. "For real?"

Korra just nodded back softly. "For real."

They sat there in silence again for a few moments. After a decent amount of time passed, Kuvira raised her glass up toward Korra. "Cheers."

Korra stared at her glass for a moment before smiling softly. "Cheers."

They clinked their glasses together.

xXx

"Sis, have you seen my tie?"

"It's on the couch."

Kai comes over running before grabbing it in a rush. "Thanks!" He then runs back to his room shouting again. "Where's my jacket!"

Korra shakes her head slightly with a smile. "On the bathroom door."

As expected, he ran for it again. "Thanks!"

A few seconds later, he was finally finished getting prepared. "Alright I'm ready Korra, you good?"

"I've been good for more than thirty minutes now." She deadpans with a blank face. "Why are you, a man, taking longer than me to get ready? Shouldn't it usually be the opposite?"

"Hey! You can't rush perfection!"

Korra ends up snorting at that. "Sure bud, sureeeee." She then starts walking to the door, "Come on, let's hurry. We don't want to be late."

"Heyyyy! What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing. Nothing at all."

"Urgh, you're impossible."

"And you're just too slow."

"Am not! We're still on time!"

"Barely gonna be on time you mean. You know it's etiquette to arrive a couple of minutes early. Especially for us."

Kai ends up huffing at that statement. "Yeah yeah, I know I know. It's your girlfriend's event. I got it. You wanna get there early to impress her." He teases in a mocking tone.

"Am not!" Korra scoffs back. "I'm just trying to make a good impression, that's all."

"Forrrrr your girlfriend you mean."

Korra gives her brother a squared look. "For all the important people I have to greet."

"Which includes your girlfriend!"

Her glare never let up. "You know… Jinora's family is supposed to come to this event as well. I'm fairly certain there's a high chance of her coming so when I see her… just you wait pal."

Kai's eyes popped open at that. "Wait— I was just kidding Kor! I'll behave!"

They finally exited their apartment and once they did, Korra made eye contact with the driver who's driven her before. She then gives him an awkward grin and waves before the two siblings proceed to make their way to the limousine.

"Wait a sec…" Kai starts before giving Korra a look, "If you get married to Asami, does that mean we'll become rich too?!"

Korra quickly smacks the back of his head in an instant.

"Ow! What was that for?!"

"Who said we were getting married!"

"You're a love-sick puppy!" He gets smacked again. "Oww!"

"You never learn do you lil' bro! For one, we barely started starting like a day ago! Two, even if we get married, I am soooo not gonna share her money with you! And three, who the hell are you calling a love sick puppy!"

With a laugh, Kai ran ahead and beat her to the car. "Oh come on, we all know you're a faithful pup like Hachiko. Might as well slap your name on that statue to sis!"

Korra just groans before getting into the car as well. "Just you wait Kai… when you and Jinora have kids, I am sooo gonna blackmail you when the time is right."

That finally makes Kai twitch a little. "W-With what…?" He asked with a nervous gulp.

His sister simply smirked before cooly saying, "You don't wanna know."

xXx

"Oh, Korra there you are! I was looking all over for you." A voice called out with a happy tone.

"Hey—! Watch the hair Korra! You know I spent forever styling it!"

Korra snorts, "Yeah I know, like an hour."

"Was not!"

"Was too!"

They were too focused on their silly arguments that they completely ignored that person's voice. It wasn't until they sneaked up behind Korra that they were finally acknowledged. They made eye contact with Kai before giving him a devious grin with their index finger on their lips. Sure enough, they leaned in right behind Korra's ear before whispering.

"I've been looking for you Korra."

Korra flinched at that cool sensation on her ear before she quickly leaped forward and cupped her ear. She then snaps around to see who that was.

"Asami! What are you…" her voice fell short when she laid eyes on her girlfriend.

Asami was wearing a beautiful one-piece dress that showed off all her womanly curves spectacularly. Her hair was cascaded naturally along her left shoulder and her makeup only seemed to make her look unworldly gorgeous. To top all that off, she was wearing heels that teased the slightest bit of her tattoo that Korra almost forgot about.

"I… I… wow… you look…" her eyes scanned Asami from top to bottom. "Really hot." When her mind finally caught up with her words, her eyes snapped open. "I mean you look beautiful! Really beautiful and good Sami!" She topped it off with a lopsided grin.

Covering her mouth slightly, Asami giggled before tucking a strand of hair out of her face. "Thank you, you look amazing and dandy as well Korra."

She ended up blushing slightly. "T-Thanks…"

Compared to Asami, Korra opted out for something comfortable rather than elegant. She was wearing some modern-tribal-styled clothes which included a navy blue dress shirt, a dark gray vest accompanied with a matching blue tie, and some dark gray slacks. To finish off her look, she also had black suspenders and black dress shoes to go with it.

Swallowing yet again, Korra eyed Asami again however this time, she ate up every detail she could. Her eyes lingered in various spots before ultimately landing down south at her heels. She then raised an eyebrow before looking up to the sky as if she was looking at her own height. She does the same for Asami and repeats the gesture a few times before eventually pouting slightly. Once her lips jut forward slightly, she mumbles to herself quietly. "Damn you and your tall heels…"

She didn't think Asami had heard her but she did, at least that was what was implied because after she mumbled that statement, Asami walks over and pulls Korra in for a hug. Specifically, she wrapped her arms around Korra's shoulders with a dreamy look.

"Looking a little short there babe."

Korra scoffed. "Excuse you, you're just freakin' tall! I'm well above average height thank you very much. Besides, you're not even that much taller than me! It's those heels you gotta thank!"

Giggling somewhat, Asami just squeezed Korra's behind as she looked down at her. "Shorty."

Biting back her tongue, Korra looked straight ahead. "Yeah yeah…" she then blinked before realizing what was in front of her face. The wondrous view of Asami's nice and modest breasts.

"How's the view down there?" Her girlfriend teased with a coy smirk.

Her tone was so smug that Korra couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Great actually." She said that sarcastically but she did mean it. After all, it was a view that most could never have.

It took a second for Asami to realize what Korra meant and once she did, she giggled playfully before leaning down to whisper into her ear. "My eyes are up here."

"Mmhmm…" Korra mindlessly hummed back, not bothering to look up. At least until Kai obnoxiously cleared his throat to get their attention. Then, as if someone dumped a bucket of cold water on her head, her face immediately grew red and she snapped back at him. "Crap I forgot about him."

Asami snorts and Korra ignores that before quickly introducing them. "Kai, this is my g-girlfriend Asami. Asami… this is my brother, Kai."

Kai quickly throws a sideways wave. "Hey, nice to meet you finally. I keep hearing about you non-stop."

With a sweet smile, Asami closes the gap between them and offers her hand. "Only good things I hope?"

He grins back. "Depends how you define good."

Asami hums back playfully at that. "I like this one."

Clicking his tongue, Kai winked back. "Me too, l will have to tell you juicy stories about Korra later."

An eyebrow raises at that. "You have a deal."

Smirking somewhat, Kai raises his fist to which Asami bumps back. "Cool."

"What?! Hey! What's going on! I'm right here, hello!"

The two of them look at each other before looking at Korra. A moment of silence lingered before they started laughing together. Asami was the first to move on with the conversation though.

"Alright, let's hurry on in." She turned and began walking inside. "There are a few appetizers that are limited but are to die for."

"Uuu! Show the way!" Kai exclaims before chasing after Asami.

Once they were a good distance away, Asami pauses halfway down the stairwell before turning around and asking, "You coming Kor?"

Taking a second to admire how beautiful her girlfriend was, Korra swelled up with happiness. Her fears were nowhere in sight and she honestly didn't know what she had been afraid of. Sure they hadn't been dating that long but nonetheless, she had this gut feeling that their relationship wouldn't change in the future.

"I'm coming."

Asami smiled and held her hand out for Korra but just when Korra had caught up to her side, she walked a few steps past her. They were at eye level now and they held eye contact for a short moment.

"There we go, I finally have a good view of those gorgeous eyes of yours."

Her face instantly grew warm. "What—"

"Come on, Kai's waiting on us." To top that off, before she turned to make her way in, she made sure to brush aside some of Asami's hair with the back of her hand. Soon after, she threw her a playful grin and wink before heading inside.

What she misses is Asami's bashful mumble. "Geez, that woman is the death of me…"

xXx

One moment, Korra was engrossed in consuming fancy appetizers with Kai left and right, the next, she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. Whether it was from eating too much or her nervousness finally catching up with her, she had excused herself to use the restroom. By the time she finally found the bathroom, she took a moment to question life in one of the stalls.

"Urgh… why am I here again…"

Scrunching her face, Korra crossed her arms as she sat up tall in a bathroom stall. She began tapping her leg nervously against the marble flooring before twiddling with the collar of her dress navy shirt.

"Right… Asami needs support… must… support… my girlfriend."

Blinking at that last word, Korra blushes before muffling her squeal in her hands.

"Calm down Korra… This is Asami's first important event in Republic City as CEO… She has many competitors and paparazzi to fight against to keep her reputation afloat…"

That only makes her shaking worse.

"Urgh… my stomach hurts…"

Clutching her gut, Korra leaned back slightly to let out a deep sigh. She vaguely heard someone in heels enter the stall next to her and shortly after, a group of two. Of course, she quickly finished her business shortly after and when she went outside to wash her hands, she was faced with two stuck-up-looking women. An eyebrow rose at that but she ignored it as she began washing her hands. Sure enough, the two of them began gossiping.

"How unbelievable," a woman scoffs, "I can't believe that they're making her the CEO of the company."

"Hah! Not like it matters in the first place, Future Industries is over."

Freezing in place, Korra was irked as water ran through her fingers.

"Those Satos are no good. If people like that are in charge of such a company, how in the world do we trust them? They are so pretentious and haughty."

"Apples never fall far from a tree, I bet you his kids are hiding something."

There was a deep scowl on Korra's face as she shut off the water. She watched as the water dripped down her hands before turning their way.

"Besides," she scoffs again, "Why is she becoming the CEO? I would rather have one of her brothers take over than her. Who does she think she is?"

"I know! Isn't she too young for that? She's barely older than my younger sister!"

Korra lets out a purposely loud sigh, catching their attention. They make eye contact as a result and one of them gives Korra an annoyed look. "What? You have something to say?"

Absent mindlessly grabbing a towel to wipe her hands, Korra shot them a look. "I do actually… what about it?" She took a step towards them.

They simply rolled their eyes. "On with it then. Who do you think you are nosing in business that clearly isn't your business."

Not my business? Korra cracked her hand by reflex. You know nothing about Asami so how dare you. "I'm sorry… I just hate it when people who only know how to bark uselessly yap around about others when you know nothing about her."

"Hah? So what about it?" The taller one, just a few inches taller than Korra, takes a step forward. "Do you know that tramp then?"

Korra's face narrowed angrily. "What'd you just call her?"

"You heard me. Do. You. Know. That. Tramp?"

Unclenching her hand, Korra couldn't believe her ears.

"More like, who the hell are you? I don't recognize you… ah… I got it!" She then eyes Korra up and down, "Seeing that you're wearing that you must be one of the catering staff!" She pats Korra's shoulder pitifully. "You must've gotten lost, the employee washroom is the floor below."

Korra lets out a soft sigh. She then takes in a deep breath before speaking in a low yet deep voice. "Get that filthy hand off of me."

She flinched at her tone. "What—"

"I said… get off of me." Without an ounce of hesitation, Korra ruthlessly swatted away her hand. "Who do you think you are talking down on someone hard-working, earnest, and down to earth?" She starts taking some steps forward, getting her to shuffle back. "Did your parents never teach you to shut your mouth when you should? This is an event hosted by Future Industries. Even a dog won't bite its owner's hand yet here you are, insulting the very one who brought you here in the first place. If that doesn't scream pretentious then maybe you should go tell your dad to pay for some manners lessons."

Before they could react, a sound catches their attention from one of the stalls.

"Pfft—"

Shortly after, the woman exits the stall. When they all saw who, the two women's faces drained in color.

"A-Asami S-S-Sato!"

Korra's dropped at the same time. "A-Asami?!"

Asami gives Korra a warm smile before walking up closer to them. She then coldly eyes the two before stating, "If you have any concerning comments, please contact my company's resource center. They'll be happy to address any concerns you may have regarding my company's 'suspicious' business."

Panic incited on their faces before they weakly excused themselves. Once they were out the door, the two of them were alone. Sure enough, Asami quickly washes her hands before giving Korra a happy smile.

"Isn't this déjà vu?"

The look in Asami's eyes made Korra feel like prey trapped by its predator for some reason.

"I-Is it?"

"Mmh, yeah." Asami started walking toward Korra.

Gulping once, Korra slowly began tracking backward. "W-Why are we always running to each other in the bathroom?"

"Mmh… good question."

Korra's back finally hit the wall.

"I got worried so I came to check up on you."

"A-Aren't you busy talking to those business people though?"'

Asami takes one last step before standing in Korra's space. She holds eye contact before bringing her hand up. Of course, Korra thinks that she was going to cup her cheek but, to her surprise, Asami slammed the wall before leaning into her ear.

"I prefer talking to you than them."

An accidental whimper left Korra's mouth and the moment Asami laughed before smirking, Korra knew she was whipped.

"Come on, we should hurry back. You're brother's waiting and one of my brothers should be here should. Ah, the eldest one by the way. I don't believe you've met him yet so I want to introduce you two."

With a gentle tug, Korra is whisked away by Asami's grace. "O-Okay… yeah, sure. Sounds good." And… little did Korra know she'd be fucked shortly after.

xXx

"Where the heck did Kai go?" Korra mumbles before turning to Asami.

Asami just looks at her with a shrug. "Beats me. Maybe he hunting down more appetizers…" she then spots him in the distance. "Ah, never mind, he's right there." She then leans into Korra to point in the distance.

Korra's eyes follow the path of Asami's finger and sure enough, there he was. "Ah… he's chasing after his girlfriend."

"Oh?" Asami cocks an eyebrow, "Girlfriend…" she then looks at his surroundings.

"Yeah." This time Korra points to a girl around his age. "Jinora, Councilman Tenzin's daughter."

"Ahh… her?" She hums before smiling softly, "They seem like a cute pair."

Korra just shrugs at that. "I guess so." At that moment, Korra's phone buzzes. She raises an eyebrow before pulling out her phone and reading the message.

Dilf Vibes (18:22): Where are you? I just arrived.

Dilf Vibes (18:22): Oh, nevermind. I see you, I'll head your way.

However, before Korra got a chance to respond, like an idiot, she somehow managed to drop her phone. It slid across the floor and she smacked her forehead before attempting to walk toward it. "Real smooth Korra, smoothhhhh."

Giggling softly, Asami taps her bicep. "Don't worry love, I got it."

To Korra's luck, Asami was closer to her phone.

"Oh— no it's okay Sami! I got it, you're in a dress, I don't want you bending over for no reason."

This time her girlfriend chuckles. "It's just a dress Korra, it's not like my leg's broken or something."

"But I don't want to show the world your nice ass—"

Before Korra could continue, Asami briskly yet gracefully bends over to pick up Korra's phone. However, her eyebrow twitched upward when she saw the screen. She blinked a few times before speaking out loud. "Who the hell is Dlif Vibes?"

Korra's jaw dropped. Oh shit, I forgot to change that. "I can explain that's—"

Asami's eyes happen to skim over the message. "Heading your way… who—" a familiar voice cuts her off.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting Korra."

Once Asami makes eye contact with the owner of the voice, her eyes popped open before she blinked rapidly. Her jaw mouth parts in disbelief. "What…"

Naofumi Suoh, aka Asami's brother, finally makes it over to the two before raising an eyebrow. "Asami?" He then looks between the two, "How have you two been?"

Asami blinks again before looking down at Korra's phone screen with a blank face. She then looks back at Korra before repeating the action a few times. Eventually, she gives Korra this amused sink eye which Korra immediately tries to shake off.

"It's not what you think Sami!"

Korra was about to whip out some weird explanation however, Asami beats her to it of course, and spoke up. At this point, Korra wished she lived under some rock under the sea, far, farrrr away from human civilization.

"I'm doing well dear brother, where's Kaede nee-sama and Kii-chan?"

Korra's brain finally caught up with her current situation. Wait a sec… That's when the realization hit her, she looked at the two back and forth a few times as her brain pended. Brother… brother… 'brother' brother?! BROTHER?!

"Kaede's greeting an old friend back at the hall while Akina is at Ren's place."

"Aww, you should've brought her too. This is technically an informal event, I could've watched over her for you."

Naofumi shakes his head softly, "I couldn't do that to a busy CEO. I'm sure you have your hands tied with the guests already."

Asami shrugs at that. "I guess but Kii-chan is never an issue!" She then spares Korra, who was in a daze, a glance. She smiles humorously before finally breaking the ice for her. "Ah, that's right, although I'm sure you two already met…" she raises her hand up to Korra. "Nii-sama, this is Korra, my girlfriend."

At that statement, Naofumi's face widens before he spares Korra a glance. It looked like he was processing some thoughts before plowing through it and giving her a warm smile. "My sister has been in your care, thank you for supporting her."

Korra could feel chills going down her spine for various reasons. One was the fact that Naofumi was Asami's brother, and two, Asami totally saw her contact name for him. Her stupid contact name!

She was clearly choked up on her words but managed to say something after clearing her throat. "Oh no, it's my pleasure! She's a wonderful person and g-girlfriend." Oh, spirits someone end my misery now.

Asami had this devilish giggle as she leaned into Korra and looped her arm around hers. She then slides Korra's phone back into her pocket before practically snuggling into her. "I didn't realize you two were close. How come I didn't know?"

Naofumi laughs softly. "That's what I'd like to know too, Korra and I have met several times in the south for business. We were rather on friendly terms for the most part. You know, I had a suspicion that you two knew each other but to see it with my own eyes is… unexpected."

Laughing softly, Asami kept a teasing eye on Korra. "Well that's already in the past but maybe I should have followed you a few years back to the south. Maybe I could have met Korra earlier."

"Perhaps."

Asami wasn't even facing her brother even though he was talking. She was busy giving Korra this amused look. "Oh, since you two know each other, have you met my niece Akina yet?"

Korra winced at that. Oh spirits… she's totally fucking with me. Fuck my life. "Y-Yeah I have…" she topped it off with a nervous chuckle.

"Really? That's amazing, she is just the cutest little girl out there!" She then playfully leans over to jab her brother. "To think that she came from my brother."

Naofumi raises an eyebrow at that. He sensed some underlying notion between the two but there wasn't much he could do. He simply played it smart and remained silent as he watched them exchange comments.

"I guess you siblings really are alike, you're all ambitious and charismatic. As their little sister, you must be happy to have such reliable brothers. It must be the nice being the youngest… Since I only have Kai, there was oh so much I could do before getting scolded by my parents."

"Ohhhh I wouldn't say that I was spoiled Korra, my family was pretty strict. I rarely got to leave the house frankly."

Korra shakes her index finger side to side, "Tch tch tch. Us older siblings always spoil our youngest rotten. Right, Naofumi?" She then looks over at him with a smug grin.

Asami just rolls her eyes. "Nii-sama, tell her that you didn't spoil me that much, right?"

"Uh…" Naofumi's eyebrow twitched slightly.

"Right Naofumi…" Korra repeats before inching closer to him.

"Nii-sama…" Asami took a step closer to him too.

"..."

Naofumi's mouth thinned out and he felt his impending doom grow. However, luckily for him, he saw a familiar face in the distance. "Oh! It's Councilman Tenzin, I should greet him." He then quickly steps forward before waving at the two, "I'll see you two later."

"Wait— Naofumi!"

"Nii-sama!"

At that, he quickly disappeared into the crowd, leaving the two of them alone. A second of silence passed and sure enough, the two of them began cracking up. Asami was the first to recover from her laughter before giving Korra a bright smile.

"What was that?"

Korra wiped away some of her tears before answering vaguely. "Who knows?"

"Aw… I feel bad for him. My poor brother."

Giving her girlfriend a cheerful snicker, Korra gave her a wink with a lopsided grin. "Ehh, he's fine. Us older siblings always have it tough."

"Hey!" Asami slaps Korra's arm, "What's that supposed to mean?"

She shrugs it off. "Don't know."

"Korra!"

She lets out another wholehearted laugh before walking toward Kai. "Speaking of brothers, let's hurry and cock block him. I don't need him being all touchy-feely with Jinora when Tenzin is here."

"Pfft—" Asami covered her mouth, "That's…"

"What? It's true. I'm sure you've heard about how scary he can be. Besides… Katara has told me about his temper. He took after her when she was young so…"

Asami began cracking up, "Korra! You can't say that here! You're gonna get us unwanted attention!"

Korra gives her a sleazy grin, "What can I say? I like making you laugh."

Making eye contact, Asami gives her a sweet smile. "I like when you do too."

Lost in their own world, they had a hard time keeping their eyes off one another that night and once they parted ways, their cheeks were sore from how much they were smiling.
