Chapter 1: Sandover Village and Sentinel Beach

When everyone went their own separate ways, they went to specific areas. For Jak and Daxter, they headed off to Sentinel Beach to do what Samos told them to do. Amitie and Lidelle decided to make the start easier for themselves by collecting Precursor orbs and seven scout flies that were around Sandover Village. The two were told by Samos how to break the boxes containing those scout flies, and when Amitie got the seventh one, out came a power cell.

Amitie: "*gasp* A power cell!"

She picked it up, did a silly little dance, then she made a peace sign and pocketed the power cell. *power cell no. 4* As for Raffina, she also went to Sentinel Beach so that she could hunt down power cells. So while Jak and Daxter made their way over to those green eco collectors, they picked up several Precursor orbs on the way. And when they got to the collectors, they looked to see how badly they were clogged.

Daxter: "Well, looks Samos wasn't kiddin' when he said that these things were blocked. Jak, a good punch or two should be able to clear out the junk on top of the vents."

After Daxter said that, Jak immediately got to work and cleared out the green eco collectors. Once that was done, a power cell appeared and Jak picked it up before pocketing it. *power cell no. 5* With that, the communicator appeared and Samos' voice came from it.

Samos: "Ah, I see you two decided to clear up my collectors… I would offer my congratulations, but you and those other kids have so much to do that I shouldn't waste your time. By the way: If things don't work out, Daxter could always get a job controlling the village's rat problem. Hehahahahaha!"

The communicator went away, and Jak and Daxter got some more Precursor orbs that were in the immediate area. And then, without knowing what to do next… the duo returned to the village to speak with Samos.

Samos: "Oh, it's the conquering heroes. Good! I want to talk with you two about something serious. There appears to be quite a bit of lurker activity on Misty Island. I can see them bombarding the Precursor silo from my lookout tower! If the lurkers open it up and release the dark eco, we could all end up running around looking as ridiculous as this annoying little specimen! Jak, it's time for you to prove your worth. Find the fisherman in the jungle and have him let you take his boat back to Misty Island. Then, get to the top of the Precursor silo, and take out that cannon."

Daxter: "And what about me?"

Samos: "You? Why don't you mop my floors? They seem to have lost their shine lately."

Daxter: "What?! *grumble*"

Daxter felt inclined to leave the green sage's hut after that and made Jak do the same. As they left the hunt and went down a bit, they saw Keira tending to the zoomer. Daxter felt obligated to stop by and…

Daxter: "Hey, baby! What do you say you and I go cruisin' on this A-Grav Zoomer?"

Keira: "... Rule number one: I don't date animals."

Daxter: "Aw, you don't know what you're missin'. *chuckle*"

Upon hearing Daxter say that, Jak smacked the back of the ottsel's head. A couple of seconds later, Keira spoke again.

Keira: "Listen, if you need something to keep you busy: My father always talked about an ancient Precursor pipeline hidden deep underground. Some of these pipes end in vents from which eco flows freely, and some have been capped off so that the eco is sealed back. There must be a way to turn the capped vents on. I traced part of the pipeline back to the Forbidden Temple. Maybe you should look there for some type of switch."

Daxter: "If we do this, will ya consider my offer?"

Keira: "No."

Daxter: "*sigh* Of course you would still refuse…"

And so, Jak and Daxter left and started making their way toward the fisherman that Samos mentioned, but not before visiting Jak's… "uncle".

Uncle: "Well, hello there, my dear boy. You've caught me at a most inopportune moment. I was to set off on my journeys yesterday, but I seem to be a spot short on the old Precursor orbs. I would've pledged my word that I had ninety of them. But I gather that your young friend, you know, the little annoying miserably ugly one, might have just pilfered them as a sort of a spot of fun."

Daxter: "*mockingly growls*"

Uncle: "Anyway, would you be kind enough to loan your dear old uncle ninety Precursor orbs, so he can get underway? I would offer you a power cell in return."

With that, Jak and Daxter left the hut and saw the mayor freaking out inside his hut. Jak decided to walk in and confront him.

Mayor: "Oh, *tense mutters* don't tell me that you two have problems as well! First I hear of monster sightings near the village... and now this. See those gears above us, boys? See how they're not moving? That means our village has no power! The eco beam coming from the jungle temple has been interrupted! Boys, everyone's too frightened to go out and find out what's happened!"

Daxter: "Did you pay the bill?"

Mayor: "Yeah- Hmm? Oh-huh-oh, you're funny. Now look, if you two fix the eco beam, I'll give you a power cell. Oh, ooh ooh, and-and another thing, uh... If by any chance you're interested in making a contribution to my re-election campaign, I-I might be willing to part with yet another power cell! The minimum contribution is, oh, a very modest... ninety Precursor orbs."

So, Jak and Daxter left the Mayor's hut and went into the sculptor's hut. When the sculptor saw Daxter, he had a face of joy before...

Sculptor: "Hey! Little furry dude! Aww... I thought for a moment you were my muse."

Daxter: "I'm sorry, your what?"

Sculptor: "Haven't you ever seen a muse before? It's a little glowin' squirrel about your size, full of spunk, and crazy as a lark!"

Daxter: "Oh, I get it! Like a sidekick."

Sculptor: "As a matter of fact, without my muse, I just can't sculpt. But with her around... I see beauty in everything, you know? Right now, I couldn't chisel my way out of a box. I think she ran away to that Misty Island. *sigh* I just hope she's alright. It's worth a power cell if you bring her back to me."

When the sculptor said that, Daxter's eyes widened.

Daxter: "Wait a minute! We are NOT going back to Misty Island just for that! ... Are we?"

After Daxter said that, he briefly looked at Jak, who seemed to be willing to go to Misty Island to recover the sculptor's muse.

Daxter: "Oh, you've gotta be kidding me… *sigh* Fine, we'll get your muse back."

And so, with a few things to do in total... Jak and Daxter finally started their string of tasks by going to the fisherman that Samos mentioned. Meanwhile, Raffina was still in Sentinel Beach, clearing it out when it comes to Precursor orbs and scout flies. Eventually, Raffina had to go past the sandy area of Sentinel Beach and move up towards the grassy part of it. There, she had to jump over stuff, beat up lurkers... and then the communicator appeared to her and Keira's voice came from it.

Keira: "Raffina, can you hear me? This is Keira. That floating blue cluster you see in front of you is blue eco. If you're able to harness the energy it has: You'll be able to run faster, break nearby boxes, and activate Precursor technology that's close to you until the charge runs out."

Raffina: "Is that so? Heh. This will be a cinch…"

Raffina approached the wad of blue eco and touched it. As it turned it, the eco went inside her body and the effects of it were immediately apparent.

Raffina: "Holy crap, I feel supercharged!"

Raffina rushed over to nearby boxes of small green eco and Precursor orbs. The boxes broke and the orbs were attracted to her, as if she was a magnet. Soon though, the charge ran out and things returned to normal.

Keira: "Nice! You were able to channel blue eco and see the effects of it. This is the power of blue eco, and you haven't even seen Precursor technology reacting to it yet."

Raffina: "It felt incredible... I was able to run like the wind."

Keira: "And blue eco wasn't the only thing your body took in, Raffina; it also took in some small green eco bits. Collect enough of these, and you'll be healed."

The communicator went away after that and Raffina carried on with her venture through Sentinel beach. It didn't take too long for her to get the seventh scout fly in the area after learning to harness the power of blue eco. This made a power cell appear before her.

Raffina: "Finally, it looks like my efforts are starting to pay off…"

Raffina grabbed the power cell, did a punch, and raised her fist in the air. As she moved around like that, she had a smirk on her face. Once she was done with her pose and pocketed the power cell, she laughed in her usual, rich girl way and went on to secure more Precursor orbs. *power cell no. 6* Along the way, she encountered another power cell.

Raffina: "There's another one just lying about? Hah! Collecting these things is going to be easier than I originally thought. Ohohohoho!"

However, when she came right up to the power cell in question, it was scooped up by a pelican that suddenly swooped in.

Raffina: "*gasp* No, that's MY power cell, bird-brain! Cough it up this instant!"

Raffina's demand fell on deaf bird ears as the pelican flapped its wings and flew over to its nest. There, it took the power cell out of its beak and rested it on the nest itself.

Raffina: "I can't believe that stupid pelican just took the power cell right in front of me! … What should I do? I can see the nest from here, but it's perched on a rock formation that I can't get to because the path leading up is blocked by a giant rock. I could try punching and kicking that rock, but I feel like that'll get me nowhere… And even if I do somehow manage to break that boulder, who's to say that the pelican won't just fly away when I approach it? *sigh* I'll just have to remember that the power cell is in that nest and move on."

And move on, she did… Raffina kept collecting Precursor orbs and continued to beat down any incoming lurkers. This lasted until there was nothing left on the grassy part of Sentinel Beach.

Raffina: "Well, that looks like the last of the Precursor orbs on this part of the beach… I should go back to the sandy area, because there's still quite a bit to get there."

Raffina jumped down from the grassy terrain above and landed on the sand. She walked forward and saw explosives of sorts continuously falling to a set area of sand. Seconds after landing, these explode and damage anything within their relatively small blast radius.

Raffina: "...? Where are those coming from?"

Raffina looked around for a bit before spotting the source of the explosives. It was a lurker shooting them out of a cannon from the top of a tower.

Raffina: "Ah, so that's where they're coming from… And a lurker is using a cannon to blast them there? Well, I think it's time to teach it some manners."

She took it upon herself to sneak up to the top and kick the lurker from behind, making it fly from the tower. Raffina watched as the lurker flew for a bit before hitting the ground hard.

Raffina: "And that's how we do things back home… Now, why was the lurker firing around that area of sand? … Wait, what are those gray boxes? … Hmm… I wonder…"

Raffina decided to test the explosives on one of the gray boxes that rested on the sand. She fired and… *boom*

Raffina: "*gasp* Precursor orbs! I think I've found a treasure trove of them!"

The gray box contained quite a few Precursor orbs, which incentivized Raffina to take out the rest of the gray boxes. Once they were blown to bits, she stopped and made her way down the tower to collect the Precursor orbs.

Raffina: "I'm surprised that the orbs themselves weren't destroyed by those explosives… Not like I'm complaining!"

After Raffina collected all of those orbs, she looked off into the distance and saw a couple of small temple-like structures. Out of curiosity, she decided to go over to them and see what they were about. Of course, she had to deal with a few lurkers on the way… but they weren't that tough. Raffina came up to the first structure and walked up the steps of it. Reaching the top, she found several Precursor orbs lying about and collected them. She then climbed the second structure's steps, and this time, she ran into another power cell.

Raffina: "Excellent, another power cell! … Good, it looks like that pelican isn't coming over here."

Raffina swiped the power cell as she said that and successfully pocketed it, safe from any sort of snatching from the likes of a pelican. *power cell no. 7* With that, she made another pose of sorts and went down the structure. Raffina then noticed that there were some Precursor orbs around the sides of both of the structures and seagulls were by them. She scared away all of the seagulls in order to grab the orbs. The smaller birds flapped like the wind and zipped over to the very top of the giant rock formation Raffina was by earlier. This caused a rock slide to occur and it made a power cell fall onto some grass. She watched the entire thing unfold and her eyes were as wide as they could be when she saw the rock slide and such.

Raffina: "What?! THAT made a power cell of all things appear? Well, I was going to go back to the village eventually. And considering where the power cell is, it's TECHNICALLY on the way back… so I might as well get it."

Raffina walked over to the grass patch that was above her, jumped up to grab the ledge. From there, she got herself onto the patch and continued upward. She grabbed the few Precursor orbs that were there and approached the power cell. Unfortunately for her, the pelican was on the move again and scooped up that power cell too.

Raffina: "...! Oh, screw you! It's bad enough that you basically stole one power cell from me, but two? You are SO going down, bird-brain!"

Before Raffina could beat the pelican up, it screwed off and flew back to its nest. It placed the power cell down next to the first one it got.

Raffina: "*sigh* Looks like I'll have to wait for that power cell as well... Ugh… I'm tired. I'm going back to the village to rest."

She walked back to the beginning portion of the beach and collected the last of the Precursor orbs in the area, which caused one more power cell to appear in front of her.

Raffina: "Well I'll be… Perhaps if all of the Precursor orbs in an area are collected, then a power cell appears. In any case, I'm stashing this one; I don't want that pelican getting this power cell, too."

Thankfully, she pocketed the power cell without any issues and made a pose once more. *power cell no. 8* After that, she left Sentinel Beach and rested at a secluded spot in the village. Meanwhile… Lidelle was just finishing up with collecting the Precursor orbs around the village. When she collected the final one, a power cell landed right in her sweater's sleeves.

Lidelle: "...! A power cell…!"

Lidelle's eyes sparkled as the power cell rested on her sleeves; she looked happy, too. Lidelle slowly spun around and smiled. *power cell no. 9* After that was done, she pocketed the power cell and decided to enter one of the huts out of curiosity. There, she saw an older lady that looked kind and sweet. This lady was a birdwatcher of sorts.

Birdwatcher: "Oh, hello there, child."

Lidelle: "H-hello… Um… Is something the matter? You look like you need something."

Birdwatcher: "Hmm… Now that I think about it, I do. See, yesterday I saw some terribly vicious creatures capture a mother flut flut near the beach. Now there's this poor little orphan egg sitting in a nest at the top of the cliff and I can't get to it. Could you be a sweetie and push it off for me? I'll give you a power cell if you do. Don't worry about the egg cracking, though. I've already piled some hay down at the base, so it can land safely."

Lidelle: (I'm not really sure what a flut flut is… but I want to help this lady; she seems to be very nice.) "O-okay, I'll push it off for you."

And so, Lidelle started making her way toward the beach… and she saw Raffina sitting down at a remote part of the village.

Lidelle: "R-Raffina, what are you doing just sitting here?"

Raffina: "... Lidelle, I… I got tired after clearing that beach out of all the Precursor orbs and scout flies it had, so decided to rest here."

Lidelle: "Did you get some power cells?"

Raffina: "Yeah, I got a few… Though, I missed out on two of them that were just lying about because of that stupid pelican off in the distance. It scooped them up right in front of me… Seriously, the audacity of that bird!"

Lidelle: "I-I'm sure that the pelican merely thinks that the power cells are things to protect, Raffina…"

Raffina: "Does it really matter what that bird-brain thinks?! *sigh* Either way, I have to go back to that beach at some point to retrieve those power cells."

Lidelle: "... A-anyway, I have to go by the beach for something. It won't take me that long, though; I'll come back soon."

Lidelle ran off to where the cliff was and looked at it, as well as the hay that the birdwatcher mentioned. She didn't see any actual way to get up there and reach the egg.

Lidelle: "How do I get there…? I don't see a way up whatsoever."

And then, the communicator appeared before her and Keira's voice came from it.

Keira: "Lidelle, can you hear me? It's Keira. I'm communicating with you by using the communicator that's currently floating around you."

Lidelle: "K-Keira? What is it?"

Keira: "I've looked at your predicament and I think I know how you'll be able to get up there. See those vines stuck to the rock formation? They may be thin, but you might be light enough for them to hold your weight."

Lidelle: "Y-you're saying that I can use the vines to climb up to where the egg is?"

Keira: "Yeah! Try grabbing on to the vines and place your feet up on them."

Lidelle: "O-okay, I'll try…"

Lidelle did as Keira suggested… and it worked. The vines didn't snap under the weight of her and she was surprised.

Keira: "Great, it looks like I was right! You are light enough to scale these vines. So, you will able to use them to get up to the egg. Well, I won't keep you occupied for any longer, Lidelle. See you later!"

The communicator went away and Lidelle carefully scaled the vines until she was able to jump safely to the egg. At that moment in time, Lidelle saw just how big the flut flut egg was and had been taken aback by the size of it.

Lidelle: "W-wow, that's one large egg... That must mean that a baby flut flut is pretty big. … *gasp* Oh my goodness! It just makes me wonder how big a mother flut flut is... … Speaking of big: How the heck am I going to push this egg off the cliff? M-maybe it's not that heavy…?"

Lidelle pushed a little to get a feel for how heavy the egg was. Safe to say, it was pretty heavy for her standards. However, she knew that she had to keep pushing. She needed to get that power cell from the birdwatcher. So, she kept going with determination and then, the egg fell to the hay.

Lidelle: "I-I did it…! I pushed the egg off the cliff and it landed safely!"

Lidelle smiled as part of a job well done and went back down to sand by using the vines she scaled a moment ago. When her feet hit the sand, she saw the birdwatcher walking to where she was.

Birdwatcher: "Thank you, dearie. As soon as I saw you, I knew I could count on you. O-oh my, the egg is hatching!"

Lidelle: "I-it is?"

The two looked at the egg as it slowly cracked from the inside... and out came the flut flut.

Lidelle: (THAT'S a flut flut?!)

As Lidelle freaked out a little in her mind, the flut flut looked at her. This bird slowly approached Lidelle, but stopped when it saw that she was shaking.

Flut Flut: "Momma! Momma!"

Birdwatcher: "Oh, how cute! The flut flut thinks that you're its mother."

Lidelle: "I-it does? Um… Sorry, Mr. Flut Flut, but I'm not your mother. I don't have feathers like you…"

Flut Flut: "Momma! Momma!"

Birdwatcher: "Ah, love at first sight. *sigh* I'll take this little chick back to the village with me and work with the sage to take care of him. Anyway, here's the power cell that I promised."

The birdwatcher handed the power cell to Lidelle. The latter took it and spun around slowly before pocketing it. *power cell no. 10* With that, she headed back to the village. Meanwhile… Amitie wasn't making much in the way of progress aside from that one power cell she got from saving the seventh scout flies in Sandover Village. Soon, she met back up with Lidelle and the two began to talk.

Lidelle: "Amitie, did you get anything since this whole collecting thing started?"

Amitie: "I got this one power cell… and several orbs, but that's about it. What about you and Raffina?"

Lidelle: "I have two power cells and quite a number of Precursor orbs, but nothing more though. As for Raffina… She said she got a few power cells. And at the beach, she collected all of the orbs there, and saved all of the scout flies as well. So in other words, she's already done the most work out of the three of us."

Amitie: "Um, what about Jak, though?"

Lidelle: "J-Jak? I don't know where he's at right now; I didn't see him by the beach."

Amitie: "Then he's probably around some other place, Lidelle. Look, I can see some kind of jungle over there. Maybe he went there?"

Lidelle: "But what reason would he have to go there?"

Amitie: "I dunno, but he has to be there if he isn't over by the beach, right?"

Lidelle: "... We should go see Samos and ask if he knows."

Amitie: "Oh yeah! I'm sure that he can help us find him."

Lidelle: "Then let's get Raffina and go back to Samos."

Amitie: "Okay!"

Lidelle led Amitie to where Raffina was at and they told her to come with them to see Samos. Once the trio made it to the green sage's hut, they made their presence known.

Samos: "Hmm? Oh, you three are back. Did you do well?"

Raffina: "I think I did pretty good, Samos. I cleared the beach of all the Precursor orbs it was worth and I got a few power cells."

Samos: "Well, it looks like we have someone who actually puts effort into what they're told to do. Good job, Raffina. … What about you two?"

Lidelle: "I-I cleared out the village of all of its Precursor orbs and got a power cell out of it, then I got another one from helping out that kind lady by pushing a flut flut egg off a cliff."

Samos: "Ah, so you're the one that helped her… I should have known as soon as I heard that a baby flut flut was going to come here. … And you?"

Amitie: "Um, so far… I haven't done much aside from freeing all of the scout flies in this village… And before coming back here, I heard that Raffina cleaned up the beach, so I don't think I had much of a chance to collect more. Sorry, Samos."

Samos: "As long as you're doing something productive and you have a good reason for not collecting more, then I'm not mad."

Lidelle: "U-um, Samos? There's something that we wanted to ask you. If you know the answer, please tell us. Where is Jak?"

Samos: "Oh, him? I told him and Daxter to go to the Forbidden Jungle a little while ago, so they could meet a fisherman there and tell him to let them use the boat that's anchored around here."

Amitie: "Huh? Why?"

Samos: "Why? Because I need them to go to that island right there."

Raffina: "Hmm? … What is up with the island over there?"

Samos: "That's Misty Island, a place that's littered with lurkers of many shapes and sizes; it's very dangerous. Normally, I would specifically tell them not to go there. But not this time… See that silo right there? It's being bombarded by lurkers from Misty Island. And if this doesn't stop, then dark eco will spread everywhere and we all might just turn into how Daxter currently looks."

Amitie, Raffina, and Lidelle: "Wh-what?!"

Raffina: "Y-you mean… I might become whatever Daxter is?! I don't want to be turned into a furball like him! Those two better not screw this up..."

Samos: "Yes, I wish for them to not mess this up as well. After all, they aren't exactly the most reliable individuals around… especially Daxter. You wouldn't believe how irritating he is on any normal day!"

Lidelle: "So, um… What do we do if Jak has gone to the jungle, Samos?"

Samos: "Hmm… You know what? Go to the boat I mentioned earlier, and watch over it until Jak and Daxter meet up with you there. And then, go with them to Misty Island so that the lurkers can be stopped more easily. Can you three do that?"

Amitie, Raffina, and Lidelle: "Y-yes, Samos!"

Samos: "Thank you."

As this conversation seemed to reach a stopping point, Raffina decided to speak up.

Raffina: "Um, Samos?"

Samos: "Yes, what is it, Raffina?"

Raffina: "While I was at the beach, a pelican came in and scooped up two power cells that I was going to get. After getting each one, it flew back to its nest and placed it down there before I could knock the bird into the ground. I mention this because I'm currently unable to retrieve those two power cells. There's a large rock blocking the path up to that nest."

Samos: "A large rock, you say? Hmm… That certainly is a problem, I won't deny that. It looks like you need the strength of red eco in order to crush that boulder. If you can find some red eco, you can get back those power cells. However, there is a problem with that: There's no red eco around the beach whatsoever, just blue and green eco."

Raffina: "Then how do I…?"

Samos: "... I think I may have a solution for this. I remember having a special vial around here somewhere… Aha! Here it is! This vial right here is able to suck up to two clusters-worth of any single eco type and you can use the captured eco wherever you wish... This is perfect for you because Misty Island has a good supply of red eco, and you three are going to go there with Jak anyway. It will all work out for you. Here you go, Raffina; just make sure not to break it."

Raffina: "W-well, that's awfully convenient… Thanks, Samos. And don't worry... I'm not clumsy enough to break something such as this, unlike a certain other girl I know."

Raffina looked at Amitie as she said that, and it made the latter rather upset.

Amitie: "H-hey! That's not nice, Raffina!"

After Amitie said that, Raffina scoffed and pocketed the vial. Then, Samos looked at the trio again.

Samos: "So, are you three ready to leave?"

Amitie, Raffina, and Lidelle: "Yes, we are!"

Samos: "Great, so get going!"

And so, the trio of girls left to watch over the fisherman's boat. As for Jak and Daxter… it'll be a while before they arrive at the dock. Forbidden Jungle is a fairly big area and the duo had a few things to do, aside from talking with the fisherman. And because of that, a couple of things of significance will happen.

Author's Notes: Sandover Village and Sentinel Beach have both been swept clean, save for those two power cells that were snatched away before Raffina could grab them. As you can already see: Some things here that are quite different from the game, outside of the actual story. Lidelle was given the "Push the flut flut egg off the cliff" task, rather than Jak. And then there was the change relating to that pelican in Sentinel Beach… That's probably the biggest change from the game thus far, because there... Jak was able to retrieve the one power cell back by punching it out of the pelican, and racing the bird to it. Here though, the pelican swiped TWO power cells before Raffina could reach them and she can't get to them at the moment, because of that giant rock. This also gets me into talking about another small change here compared to the game: Locations WILL be a bit different layout-wise. However, do take note that the layout of the areas themselves will remain mostly the same. So if you like to imagine the characters moving around in the stages that you're familiar with as you read these chapters, then you shouldn't feel lost.

It also helps that I'm keeping a lot of the dialogue from Jak characters and NPCs the same as well. Of course, I'm including additional and different dialogue here as well… not just because Amitie and her friends are in Jak's world, but also because it puts a new spin on the story that Jak fans are used to. You see, I am of the firm belief that if you wish to reuse a lot of dialogue from a game for a crossover story like this... then you should put in some new things to keep fans interested. This is especially the case when there are readers that are fans of both game series or whatever, and you put in fitting dialogue for characters of those two series. And I figured that having some Puyo Puyo characters be sent over to Jak's world would only make sense in this regard. The original Jak trilogy puts a heavy emphasis on character interactions, and guess which series of puzzle games has that very thing in spades? That's right! The Puyo Puyo games are chock-full of quirky character interactions and that series' characters fit RIGHT IN with the more lighthearted tone of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.

Also, the Puyo Puyo series is no stranger to the idea of its characters constantly being sent to other worlds in one way or another; that's nothing new. So anyway, moving over to a different topic, I'm sure you guys have noticed another change here from the game: Now the characters get a power cell for collecting every single Precursor orb in an area. You know, I was shocked to find out that this WASN'T a thing in the game. And that was when I thought: "Huh… I should probably further enhance the collect-a-thon experience by making the process of collecting Precursor orbs feel more rewarding.". And so, I've implemented this kind of thing here. Of course, that means the total number of power cells is no longer 101, and there will be more of them to collect overall. On top of collecting every orb in an area to get another power cell, there are also going to be other instances later on where completely new power cells are awarded to the characters. And, there will be more than 2000 Precursor orbs in total for this take on Precursor Legacy as well. All of this is to make up for there being a total of four characters collecting things, rather than just Jak.

There won't really be any new tasks from NPCs per se… but I think you guys will like the way that I chose to insert new power cells into this. There will be quite a few new ones just lying around somewhere, and several others will be awarded to the characters by completing special challenges; more on those when the time comes. However, suffice it to say: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is a pretty easy game for players that have played collect-a-thons before… and a lot of them wished that there were more challenging parts throughout. Sadly, this is no rom hack… but I'm sure that at least the idea of adding challenges to Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is making some of you salivate. And keep in mind: As of when this chapter is posted, you guys currently don't know what all of the characters' abilities and whatnot are. Speaking of which, I might have to make some sort of list for the movesets and abilities somewhere down the line, because it's ALL interesting stuff. With that said though, I think I should do what I typically do for the Author's Notes segments of my stories and make a summary of this chapter. So…

Our heroes have so far collected a total of 10 power cells, 21 scout flies, and 350 Precursor orbs (50 orbs from Geyser Rock, 50 orbs from Sandover Village, and 250 orbs from Sentinel Beach). So that means they're already halfway there when it comes to powering up the heat shield for the zoomer. After collecting a good amount of stuff: Amitie, Raffina, and Lidelle were eventually told by Samsos to go to the boat and wait for Jak and Daxter. And speaking of those two, they went off to the Forbidden Jungle to see the fisherman and whatnot. Will they be able to multitask and complete multiple objectives? Only time can tell... Next chapter, Chapter 2: The Forbidden Jungle.
