Thump

Mr. White continues to stare at the girl after she collapses. Jesse puts his hands on his head and begins to step back in disbelief. "Shit! Mr. White don't tell me you killed her!" He yells at Mr. White.

Mr. White relaxes his arm and drops the pistol. "Is she dead?" He spoke toward Subaru, who was already approaching Rem's limp body.

"No, you just stunned her, she'll be out for a while." Subaru checked to be sure she was breathing while saying this. Thankfully, she was. "Moving on, who are you guys and how did you end up here?" While questions piled up in his head, he began with a basic question for the two.

"… I was driving through some deserts, and then… Boom." Mr. White makes a small explosion motion with his hands. "We just found ourselves driving through a gray cobblestone path, and here we are."

Jesse, who's sitting in a semi-fetal position, nods to everything Mr. White is saying in confirmation.

"I see, so not too far off from my experience…" Subaru puts his hand up to his chin in thought. He was relieved that he wasn't the only outsider in this world, but another question revolved around his head. Do these two have the same ability as he does?

"… Well it's nice to meet both of you, my name is Subaru Natsuki." He reaches out his hand to give a handshake to Mr. White and Jesse. "Walter, Walter White." Mr. White returns the handshake along with a self-introduction. "And you?" Subaru lowers his hand to Jesse's seating position. "Jesse." He shakes his hand.

"Now with that out of the way, let me tell you guys where you even are right now…" Subaru looks up at the moon in thought, looking for a perfect way to explain what he wants to say. "Basically, you two have been summoned to another world. This place is like something out of Fantasy-RPGS. Jesse, I'm guessing you're familiar with what I'm talking about?" He looks down to Jesse, who nods. "Hell yeah I do. So I'd imagine I can find some… Sexy big-tittied elf around here?"

Subaru, not being sure on whether to be surprised by his response or not, nods. "I'm not sure, but if you look hard enough, probably… But the importance here is, if you couldn't already tell by Rem's abilities, there's magic in this wo-" Subaru is cut off.

"How about drug trade?" Walter says in a curious tone. Subaru is taken aback by this sudden question. Drug trade? He hasn't been around town enough to know if there were any people high off their minds, or anyone trying to trade that type of stuff in alleyways.

"That one I'm not too sure about. But it sounds interesting, drugs in a world like this. Bet people would lose their minds." Subaru hadn't thought about this before, mostly because the topic of drugs is barely touched on in his mind, other than "Drugs are bad, kids!".

Walter's eyes squint in more curiosity as he begins another question. "You think people would pay?" Subaru nods at this question. "Well of course, depends on what you're giving them, and they know how to use it- wait a second what is it about these questions?" Subaru points at Walter in confusion.

"I'm assuming there's no law that restricts drugs?" Walter continues his questioning regardless of Subaru's objection. "Mr. White! Chill!" Jesse gets up while telling Walter to stop.

"Can I ask the questions now?" Subaru asks. The two stare at him. "Alright, since you're asking about drugs, I'm assuming you produce them?" Subaru asks, looking at the two suspiciously. Jesse nods as Walter stays frozen in place, unknowing of what Subaru's reaction is going to be.

"Hm… The slums and alleys in the capitol would be your best shot then." Subaru turned around and put his hand up to his chin once more.

Jesse's eyes grow wide, along with Walter, who's also surprised. "So like, you don't care that we make drugs?" Jesse asks Subaru.

"Well, of course it's a bad thing, but we are here and not back home. Since I'm pretty positive there's no way you can get back to Earth, there's only so much you can do to sustain yourself in this world; and boy do I know that's a fact." Subaru remembers being kicked and spat on in the alleyway, where he met Emilia for the first time. Thanks to her generosity and a bunch of other coincidences, he has a place to stay and work for free.

A moment of silence occurs between the three. Jesse and Walter exchange looks while Subaru stares off into the dark forest in thought. He turns back around to look at both of them.

"So can you help us?" Walter says in question. Since Subaru was planning to hitch a ride to the capitol anyway, he nods. "Sure thing."

"First things first-" Subaru observes the scene in front of him. A passed-out Rem in a ditch, and half of the mansion's staircase leading to the front door in crumbles. "L-let's just focus on doing a little move-in." Subaru says, walking up to Rem and using both of his arms to lift her. "Well guys, follow me. Your new life starting in another world begins now."

He begins to walk toward the mansion; the two reluctantly following him.

Her eyes slowly begin to open. She felt dizzy and weak. As her vision and hearing came to her, she saw the one she loves. "S-Subaru-kun…" She mumbles, putting her hand over her forehead.

"Hey Rem. I need you to listen to me very closely." Subaru began while holding her in his arms. "Don't attack those two, they're friends of mine, promise." He grabbed her hand and wrapped his pinky around hers.

Observing her surroundings, she notices she's in the main lobby of the mansion along with Subaru. Footsteps are heard leaving and entering through the door. Turning her head, she sees a familiar man with a green button-up shirt and long tan pants.

"S-Subaru-kun, they caused damage to the mansion! Lord Roswaal would be very upset about the news-" Subaru cut her off.

"They'll pay the debt in favor, Rem. Trust me." Subaru stares into Rem's eyes. She blushes while returning the eye-contact. "If Subaru-kun says so… Rem will obey."

The two continued to stare into each other's eyes, unknowing of what to say. Subaru begins to feel hot around his face. Rem wraps her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her face.

"Shit! Rem wants to kiss! If only there was some classic comedic timing to stop this situation that I'm in!" Subaru, not knowing how to react, caved in. He purses his lips, along with Rem. Their lips touch.

"Yo Baru, where you want me to pu- shit my bad." Jesse's voice shattered the environment between Subaru and Rem. Subaru quickly leans back up to look at Jesse, red in the face. "U-uh, Rem where should he put those?-" Subaru spoke in an embarrassed tone, waving his arms around.

"Allow Rem to be of service. What could those items you are holding in your hands be?" Rem sits up and tilts her head in confusion.

Subaru looks at what Jesse is holding. "Beakers, containers, jars, pans, pots…" Subaru notices these as a mix of household and science-room objects.

"Uhm… Flasks, beakers…" Jesse begins, but notices Subaru's signaling look. "Remember we are in a different world, dumbass!" Shouted Subaru's facial expression.

"Ah, yeah uh, we use these to make… Healing potions?" Jesse looks back at Subaru with a "Did I nail that?" face. Subaru shakes his head and shrugs his shoulders.

"Healing potions? So liquid forms of healing magic? I think I understand…" Rem nods. "Then come along and follow me. After you settle all your belongings, Rem will assign you two rooms." She gets off of Subaru's lap, walking ahead of Jesse.

Jesse follows Rem, trying to keep the objects evenly balanced within his hands. Almost immediately after Jesse and Rem walk out of sight, Walter walks in through the door. Two white hazmat suits were in his hands. He quickly dropped them into a pile of belongings he had left near the door of the mansion.

He looks toward Subaru, pointing back outside with his thumb. "So eh, what are we going to do about the RV?" He asks.

Subaru leans back in the chair he sat at and shrugs. "I'll have Rem move it with her oni-strength." He responds.

Walter's eyebrows raise at Subaru's statement. "You're meaning to tell me that girl can push that much weight?" Walter questions in bewilderment.

Subaru nods, looking into the distance of the large lobby they were in. Walter scoffs, running his hand through his hair. "That's… Wow, unbelievable. I'd best not get on her bad side." He says with a small chuckle.

Subaru gives a bittersweet smile toward him. "Yeah, you better not, old man." He scratches his cheek. The two sit in silence, but Walter quickly strikes up another conversation. "So! We are staying in this fine place, honestly would have never even dreamed of sleeping in a mansion." Walter claps while observing the large room they were in. "The place looked humongous on the outside too!" He added.

"I'm pretty shocked too. I bet you wouldn't believe me if I said only about six people live here including me. There's so many guest rooms, it's pretty unbelievable to even think that such a small amount of people are around." Subaru says in response.

"You don't say? I'm guessing you're pretty high class then and have some money huh?" Walter brushes his hand against the glossed walls while talking. Subaru realizes that he hasn't told them about his origins in this world at all. He could just lie to keep his identity under-way with these two people he had met only roughly thirty minutes ago.

"Well about that… It's a long story I should save for another time." He responds just as he sees Rem and Jesse entering the room once more.

"Dear guests, please follow Rem to both of your room's." She picks up the folded clothing that Walter had stacked by the entrance and began to make her way up the steps. Not knowing what to do, Subaru followed the three.

Upon reaching the hallway, he split with them and retired to his room.

Upon opening the door, he rubs his eyes in slim exhaustion. He subconsciously closes the door and walks toward where his bed would always be sitting. However, a smell infiltrates the air.

The smell of books.

"Watch where you step, I supp-!" Subaru opens his eyes and trips over something on the floor, falling onto the small figure in front of him. "Kyaaaa!" She screams, playfully punching Subaru's chest.

"How blind does one have to be, I wonder?" Subaru quickly wraps his arms around her and rolls over, his back to the ground. "Sorry Beako, I'm half-awake right now. Since Walter and Jess-" He stopped mid-sentence, realizing what he was saying.

"It's no surprise, I suppose. Betty was already aware of two new presences in the mansion." She got off of Subaru, sitting back down on her stool.

"Ah, well I'll explain everything tomorrow. Can you let me back in my room though? It would save me a lot of time." Subaru quickly flipped the subject to get out of her hair.

"What makes you think that you're worthy of such a service when you come in here and tumble on Betty, I wonder?" She speaks in her usual tone, hiding her smirk. Subaru groans and opens the door of the library. "Fine, goodnight to you, damn loli." Subaru says, closing the door and making his way down the hall once more.

Walter stares at the flowers in his room. They were blue, just like Rem's hair. What stood out was another pair of flowers that kept vacant in a vase next to the blue ones. There were pink flowers. Was this supposed to resemble something?

His eyes shift toward the stack of clothes by the desk in the room, along with a robe that was laid out on the desk.

Knock knock

Knocks were heard at his door, but Walter continued to stare at the desk with the clothes.

"Mistah White, you awake?" Jesse's raspy voice was heard along with another pair of knocks that were more intense than the last pair. He blinks, turning his head toward the door.

"Yes." Walter says loud enough for Jesse to hear on the other side.

The door creaks open, Jesse making his way in. He had already put on the robe that Rem provided him, looking quite comfortable in it. "So… How you liking it? The beds are comfortable as shit, that Sears I've been to has beds that are like a hundred times shittier compared to this man!" Jesse enthusiastically praises the quality of the beds they were going to be sleeping in.

"I agree Jesse, they're very enjoyable." Walter nods, slowly fumbling his hands in thought. Jesse's smile slowly fades as the two sit in silence. His ears pick up high-pitched moaning coming from far down the hallway. "Baru's packin' heat" He thinks to himself. Shaking it off, he breaks the silence. "Your family…" Jesse starts.

"My, Family." Walter says with a smile on his face. "Jesse, think about it. Think about all the success we can have here, in a world that potentially hasn't seen the power and influence of crystal methamphetamine… I couldn't even count the riches we'd have by the time we get home." He lectures while staring out of the window of the room.

"Mr. White, Baru said that there's no way we can get back home-." Jesse attempts to remind Walter of the situation they are in. Walter walks toward the window and chuckles.

"Don't worry Jesse, we'll be able to get back home." He says confidently, staring at the night's sky. "This world, land, whatever you'd like to name it, will be firsthand to witness our crystal methamphetamine… And they'll all know my name." He puts his hand on the desk and taps on the hardwood.

He turns his head to look back at Jesse, raising his eyebrows and giving a smirk.

"Heisenberg."
