(META)The State of The Galaxy
Technology
The universe has less advanced technology than both the original trilogy and the original Old Republic timeline, in some aspects, equally advanced in some others and more advanced in the rest.
Wheeled and tracked vehicles are used more widely.
A lot of electronic and digital-based items such as papers, books and non-sliding doors are also more widely used in-universe.
Communication takes slightly longer and requires more infrastructure to conduct extremely-long distance, galaxy-wide communications.
The HoloNet is a multi-channel network (much like television), while GalaxyNet is considered this in-universe internet.
Military -
There are significant changes from the typical Star Wars universe when it comes to combat doctrine, techniques, technology and culture. Each faction will have their own ways of fighting.
Star Wars is based off of World War 2 combat in general; this timeline will see a mix of World War 2 and 21st century modern conflicts.
Generally, uniforms are a lot more focused on camouflage and concealment in this timeline.
Miscellaneous -
"Earth-like" names do exist, but are considered to be rare and odd amongst the galactic population.
Wild Space is slightly more charted and explored, but its population is only extremely concentrated in a number of planets.
The galaxy is much more multipolar, with many regional and systemic governments, ranging from small local planetary alliances to multi-region wide empires. Some are allied with the Republic, some with the Empire, and others want to be fiercely independent.
THE FACTIONS
Major factions -
Galactic Republic, Sith Empire, The Hutt Domain, Mandalorian Empire, Chiss Ascendancy

Author's note - I don't know how and where to put this, but I think this kind of chapter is important because it sets up a lot of the things in the universe. I hope to reduce some confusion anyone may have while reading on this.
So I'll be on a short hiatus due to exams, assignments, and mental health stuff. Feel free to leave good constructive criticism in the meanwhile.
Also… Should I put this after Chapter 10, or move it all the way to the beginning before the main story? Comments welcome.
