It felt strange for Narcissa to be back aboard the Black Pearl. It brought back both happy and painful memories. Now seeing it under the Captaincy of her father's killer was a bit like salt in the wound. Yes perhaps her father had stolen it first but that was relatively par for the course when it came to piracy.

Glancing up at the wheel she remembered her father teaching her to sail or their regular sword fights on the main deck. She smiled closing her eyes to draw on the memories.

There was a time when she would have been thrilled to be sailing on the Pearl. The look of happiness that had briefly crossed her father's face when she agreed to sail with him after the curse was broken had not gone unnoticed. Now a part of her simply wanted to get off the ship.

She was pleased at how Elizabeth was taking this whole adventure thing. She supposed it was a bit ironic. While Elizabeth was far better at the proper young lady thing, her sister's one indulgence had been a fascination with piracy.

*Flashback*

"Cissy wake up!" whispered a young Elizabeth. Narcissa sat up groggily, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"What's wrong Lizzie?" she asked.

"I want to show you something," replied her sister.

"And it can't wait till morning?"

"No, now come on!" said Elizabeth pulling Narcissa out of bed. Unable to deny her sister anything Narcissa followed Elizabeth back to her room. Once there Elizabeth reached under her bed and pulled out a book. Immediately Narcissa understood the secrecy. The book at the Jolly Roger engraved on the front.

"Where in heaven's name did you get that?" she asked kneeling down next to her sister to examine it.

"Father's study, one of the naval officers brought it over. Isn't it fascinating Cissy?" asked Elizabeth turning the various pages. The book was certainly comprehensive having the tales of multiple infamous pirates like Blackbeard and Anne Bonny.

"Indeed it is," said Narcissa smiling. The book was bringing back the connection she still felt with her father.

"Imagine meeting a pirate and sailing across the oceans on all sorts of adventures!" said Elizabeth as they reached the legend of the Flying Dutchman.

"It would be exciting," agreed Narcissa. Much as she loved her sister she was still drawn to the sea.

"I think you'd make a great pirate Cissy."

"Oh? And why is that."

"Well you do love breaking rules. And you're really brave," said Elizabeth seriously.

"No braver than you," Narcissa assured Elizabeth who giggled.

*End of Flashback*

Yes, Elizabeth had always loved the idea of piracy. While she didn't have the exact same thirst for adventure that Narcissa had, she was made of stronger stuff than most believed.

Given the choice Narcissa was sure Elizabeth would rather be back at Port Royal happily married to Will. But she didn't shy away from doing what she had to when it came to protecting those she loved.

Narcissa had a feeling this was only the tip of the iceberg though in terms of trouble. If they really were going to be going up against Davy Jones and the Flying Dutchman simply finding Will was not going to be the end. And that wasn't even counting Beckett. But regardless of what came. Narcissa swore she would not allow any harm to befall her sister.

There was no clear indication to how long this trip was going to take. They were following Jack's compass but that didn't give them the knowledge of where the chest was located just yet. So to pass the time Narcissa made herself useful helping the crew with their various tasks.

Pintel and Ragetti, who seemed to take their oath to look out for Narcissa quite seriously, were her main teachers. To be fair they might not be book smart but when it came to sailing on a ship they knew their job. They were also happy to regale her with stories about her father.

"We had two Navy ships on our tail and no chance of out runn'in em. I thought we was done for," explained Ragetti one day as they swabbed the deck.

"How did you escape?" asked Narcissa enthralled by the tale.

"Well, the Captain wasn't afraid, he swung round and used the size of our smaller ship to trick the two naval ships into head'en straight for each other." continued Pintel.

"So the two ships collided?" asked Narcissa impressed by her father's ingenuity.

"Aye, we slipped out between them just before they hit each other. It gave the Captain quite a reputation," agreed Ragetti. Narcissa grinned.

"I can see why you were so loyal to him."

"He was a good Captain," shrugged Pintel.

"Except for the whole getting us cursed bit," said Ragetti. "But he made up for it," the one-eyed pirate added.

"Well, hopefully one day I can be as good a captain. Though I'll be rather careful to avoid any cursed treasure," said Narcissa with a smirk and the three of them shared a laugh.

Jack climbed up to the crow's nest, wanting some privacy to think over his next move. To his surprise however, someone was already there.

Narcissa Barbossa stood leaning on the edge of the nest staring at the stars. Her long auburn hair, removed from its usual braid, fluttering in the wind.

She turned to glare at him.

"I thought I told you to stay away from me," she said. Jack smirked.

"As I see it love, this is my ship and I'll go where I please."

"You aren't worried I'll kill you?" she asked arching an auburn eyebrow.

"Ye may be on yer way to being a good pirate but you won't do that. At least not yet." he replied.

"You don't know me," she told him with a scowl.

"I know you're like yer father. You won't knowingly do something to jeopardize your ultimate goal. Regardless of personal feelings. Killing me won't help you stop Beckett and save the welp." The look of surprise on the red head's face told Jack he was right.

"Your daddy wasn't my first mate for no reason. He was a great pirate and ally till the bloody mutiny." This was actually quite true. Narcissa snorted.

"Like you wouldn't have done the same." Jack opened his mouth to argue but realized she was probably right. The Pearl was a ship any pirate would dream of having. He was so caught up in his thoughts that he almost missed her next words.

"When we met you said he spoke about me. What did he say?" There was a slightly pleading look in Narcissa's eyes, which tugged at the small bit of good he usually tried to deny existed. He pushed it aside telling himself it was simply a good idea to curry some favor with a potential ally. Yes, that was it.

"Well, luv since you asked so nicely,"

*Flashback*

Jack exited the captain's cabin and walked up to the helm where his first made Hector Barbossa stood looking at the stars. It was an odd habit he had noticed in Hector. Of course, plenty of pirates used the stars to navigate, but that wasn't what this was.

"What is it with you and the bloody stars?" asked Jack.

"What do ye mean?" asked Hector.

"Almost every night I see you staring up at the sky with the same look Bootstrap gets when he talks about his son," Jack said handing Hector a bottle of rum. Hector took a drink before speaking.

"Me daughter 'll be ten years old today." Jack nearly choked on his rum.

"Hold up mate! Daughter? What poor child got saddled with your as her daddy," Please tell me the poor lass looks like her mother." Hector rolled his eyes at the jab.

"Her name be Narcissa and apart from her hair and eyes she takes after her mother."

"Well, for the sake of men everywhere that's a relief," said Jack. "when was the last time ye saw her?"

"Two years ago," replied Hector taking another swig of rum. "Her mother died and I sent her off to an English Orphanage. Hopefully she'll be better off there than with a blaggard like me."

"And here I though all you cared about was treasure," replied Jack. Hector shrugged and fixed him with a serious look.

"Not all treasure's silver and gold Jack."

*End Flashback*

Narcissa was smiling as Jack ended the story. That's what he always called me. She murmured. "Thank you, Jack," she said softly.

The genuine emotion in her voice made Jack slightly uncomfortable. He almost preferred her threatening him. He coughed and took a swig of rum.

"Anytime luv."

With a final nod Narcissa climbed back down leaving Jack alone.

"Best not get too chummy with her," he muttered to himself. "Ye don't need Barbossa's ghost com'in back to murder ye,"

The morning following her talk with Jack Narcissa came across Ragetti and Pintel arguing.

"What's the problem?" Asked Narcissa. Pinter rolled his eyes.

"Ragetti's gone religious."

"Now we aren't immortal we've got to worry about our souls," said Ragetti holding up a Bible.

"You can't even read!" Exclaimed Pintel in exasperation.

"It's the Bible you get credit for trying!" Argued Ragetti. Narcissa held back a laugh at his indignant tone.

"If you want I can teach you to read," offered Narcissa. Considering how those two were looking out for her it felt like the least she could do.

"Really?" Asked Ragetti hopefully.

"Of course."

"Shouldn't you lazy bilge rats be swabbing the deck or something?" Said Jack walking up. Narcissa scoffed.

" I didn't sign up so I do NOT take orders from you Jack Sparrow." While her feelings may have softened slightly that didn't mean she was obeying him.

"Ye'll warm up to me eventually lass," replied Jack cheekily. Before she could respond Cotton's parrot called out.

"Land ho!" They turned and saw in the distance a sandy island.

"Right. Time to go find an undead man's heart. Just another average Tuesday with Jack Sparrow," Narcissa quipped.

Author's note: We're coming closer to the end. I wanted to put in a bit of bonding with Pintel and Ragetti. I know that isn't where the Bible line is in the film but it's one of my favorites so I decided to reassign it. PLEASE PLEASE let me know what you think in the comments. I really would appreciate any and all feedback. Until next week.
