So this is a prequel to my one-shot 'Girls don't go home with the bad boys', thank you to Brainstorm Sorcerer for his help on this one.
Have fun.
Logan was off after having stopped Magneto with the rest of the X-Men. Rogue was fine, which was a good thing. He'd come to care about the kid, she was innocent, and just scared.
But on Charles' advice, he'd decided to go to Alkali Lake to discover clues about his past, though he'd taken a detour to roam around as well. Besides, Scott's bike, not his fuel.
Right now, he was in Sunnydale. He hadn't thought his stay here would be eventful, but surprisingly, it ended up being just that when he saw a blonde woman fighting some barely above teenage in age boy in an amusement park, and the guy had two pathetic cohorts too, it seemed.
Plus based on how the guy and the blonde woman fought, it was clear both were superhuman. Mutants maybe? Could be.
The guy and his cohorts had tried to rob an armored truck, and the woman was trying to stop them, so she was clearly the good guy here.
Logan moved to help when one of the two cohorts who was very short jumped at the woman and whispered something to her which Logan heard with his super-hearing. It seemed the strong had something to make him strong.
The short guy was then thrown off as the man sent the woman into a bench, but she reached out and grabbed a pouch from his belt, then shattered it on the ground, with blue light flashing and suffusing the man before leaving him and going to the smashed orbs.
The pathetic man was dazed as the blonde stood up.
"Good night, bitch."
She did a serious spin-kick that sent the idiot flying back and tumbling to the ground near his comrades. He climbed slowly to his feet, looking scared.
The blonde advanced to him. "You're nothing but a sad little boy, Warren. But it's time you grow up, and pay for what you've done.
The guy called Warren panted. "Get away from me!" He pulled off his jacket, revealing an apparatus strapped to his body, including a pair of silvery tanks on his back. "I swear to god I'm gonna take you down. You piece of..."
He then used the apparatus to fly off, which Logan saw, and the blonde cohort of his tried to do the same but was blocked by a roof and fell down as those two were arrested.
Logan had gotten Warren's scent though and decided to follow.
Warren was now buying a gun in a shop, intending to go to Buffy's house and shoot her to death with it. A gun would definitely work where magic and technological devices or any other such means had failed.
He walked out, intending to go to her home next day, when she expected him least, when he heard a gruff voice behind him.
"Hey bub."
Warren turned around to see Logan, cracking his neck as he saw the gun. "Intending to use that, eh?"
"What does it matter to you?" Warren asked, shaking in fear at the sight of Logan as he seemed very intimidating.
"I'm guessing it is to kill the lady who stopped you from robbing the truck and crushed your balls", Logan commented, amused by Warren's enraged face.
"How dare she do that to me? She thinks I'll let her get away with that? I'm gonna kill her! Women! Always…"
Well, now Logan had zero hesitation over what he was about to do.
"Afraid can't let you do that, bub", Logan said, cracking his knuckles, making Warren gulp before he regained some false bravado.
"Oh yeah, what will you do?"
Claws popped out of Logan's knuckles as Warren gasped in horror, backing off, then shot at him in a panic, hitting his head and chest.
Logan staggered back slightly as Warren lowered his gun. Then, to his horror, the bullets fell out of Logan's body while he cracked his neck, his wounds now closing up.
"Say goodnight."
Before Warren could fire again, Logan stabbed him in the abdomen with the claws of his right hand, then ripped those out before stabbing him multiple times with claws of both the hands, drawing a lot of blood as Warren's guts and innards spilled out.
Logan then stabbed him one last time with both sets of claws and head-butted him hard, breaking his skull as he let him go.
Warren's corpse fell to the ground.
Logan then sniffed something….dead. He looked up to see a man in blonde hair with a black leather duster arrive. The dead smell was coming from him.
"What the fuck?" Logan wondered.
Spike was in a foul mood after what he'd tried to do to Buffy. How could he? He was a monster to do that. Sure she had stopped him, but he'd tried.
This man didn't seem human to him, and dangerous. Spike knew what to do.
"Hey mate", Spike greeted him cordially. "Name's Spike."
"Logan."
"Anyways, I was wondering…." Spike decked Logan on the face, slightly staggering him, and the chip didn't go off, "….how I could kill you."
Logan snarled as Spike took Vamp face, Logan now realizing what he was as he'd heard stories of Vampires.
Spike punched Logan again, and again, then spin kicked him back before leaping and kicking him with both feet.
He then rushed and tried to punch but Logan blocked and head-butted the Vampire, dazing him before lifting him up by the collar and tossing him down.
As Spike tried to get up, Logan kicked his face, sending him rolling away.
Spike gritted his teeth in pain. Logan was strong, he could do it.
Logan picked Spike up and stabbed him with both claws, then hurled him away as Spike coughed out blood, trying to stand up, before letting himself fall down.
Logan picked him up by the collar, ready to chop off his head, then saw the look in his eyes. It was one of pain and shame.
He wanted this. He wanted to die, that's why he had picked this fight.
Logan knew the feeling, he was the same once, but now he had a second chance, courtesy of Charles, Marie and the rest.
Perhaps this guy could get one too.
Logan retracted his claws, threw him down and turned to walk off.
"Do it."
The Wolverine stopped, turning around as Spike started staggering up to him. "Just….do it. Please!"
Logan watched curiously, tilting his head as Spike was begging now. "Kill me! End my miserably bloody life!"
He fell to his knees, looking like he was breaking down. "I deserve it anyway!"
Spike looked down, awaiting the end. But it didn't come. He looked up and was yanked up by the collar.
"I'm dealing with some stuff, don't have time for your bullshit, Spike. If you feel guilty for whatever crap you did, do something about it. I did, bub."
He then threw Spike off and walked off, getting on a motorcycle. "If you do something, let me know. You can find me at Xavier's Institute For Gifted Youngsters." Logan had no idea why he had told Spike where to meet him.
Perhaps he was just seeing something of himself in this Vampire, and wanted to see if someone else could make use of a second chance.
"Goodbye, bub."
Logan rode off into the night, leaving a bloodied corpse and a contemplative Spike behind.
Spike took the second chance.
And that's how Logan met Spike and they became drinking buddies.
Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with some other update.
