Finally, my first published fanfic!
I'm really happy to be able to show you this story that I've been planning for a long time.
I really love the Highschool DXD world idea, but my biggest problem with it is how the world is "empty", so my goal and making this fanfic is for it to be a more detailed version, like a high fantasy book.
For this I will fill the world with several characters, maybe they will have one or another OC's, but the main thing will be for me to put characters from other stories, transforming the world into almost a collection of stories.
However, I must point out that this is a story of the DXD world, not a crossover, and i plan to follow the main story of the Light Novel, even if with a few stops or turns here or there, I'm just going to allow myself to do this because the idea of the world is so broad that it can fit anything (Nasuverse, wink, wink).
Now without further ado, welcome to my homage to DXD, get ready, I plan it to be a long journey.
Disclaimer: I do not own High School DXD or the other works I refer to.
Chapter 1 - In the Middle of Hats
Confusion.
In the midst of meaningless disconnected thoughts, several memories appear in my head, a complex collection of stories in different worlds, worlds that I've never visited, stories that I've never experienced, but that I know as if they were part of myself.
Unfortunately, in the midst of this turmoil, I can't remember what's most important. Who am I? Where did I come from? Who is my family? However, I don't know why, but I'm sure I must remember all the stories that accompanied my life, even if they weren't real, I need to remember them.
And with that first moment of illogical reasoning, I open my eyes.
The first thing I notice, besides my eyes hurting from the sudden sunlight, is the aggressive rattle of a wooden cart I'm currently sitting on and the strong wind blowing. When my eyes get used to the sun I realize I'm not alone here, if you count me sitting in the back of the cart, 5 more people are here, all wearing the same blue robes with a really big hat, both decorated with golden symbols, the most apparent being a ostensible rainbow-colored triangle with a Latin script below with the words "Golden Dawn" located on the left chest of the robe.
However, suddenly my inner monologue is interrupted by the energetic voice of the person in the robe sitting in front of me. "Hey, you. You're finally awake!"
Focusing my vision on this person, I see a young and beautiful girl with golden blonde hair that ends on her shoulder, her face is a little rounded, which exalted the expressiveness that her big blue eyes conveyed.
When she saw that I reacted to her, a big smile spread across her face. "Finally, a gentleman educated enough to exchange conversations with a sweet lady like me, I know we're all nervous about the test, but god, silence has a limit". she says, emanating inviting energy.
"Well, it would be disrespectful for me to leave a lady as pretty as you alone" I answer her, trying to show my best smile, a good first impression is everything.
Apparently my smile didn't have the desired effect, I was hoping that at least a blush would appear on her cheeks, but instead her eyes widened, and as if stars had appeared in them. "Amazing! I've met all sorts of people, but this is the first time I've seen someone who looks so...villainous?.
Suddenly panic appears on her youthful features, she must have realized the emotional damage she caused me. "Sorry! I didn't mean it in a bad way, I just meant that you, aahh... Ah! you're more of the gentleman thief archetype than the gentleman per se, that's what I meant!"
"Thanks, that makes me feel so much better." I reply without being able to hide my sarcasm.
"Oh, I know! How about we introduce ourselves and get all this mess out of the way." Of course, let's forget about the gratuitous insults you threw at me!
The girl takes off her big hat and sets it on her lap, stares at me, and again flashes a big smile. "My name is Le Fay of House Pendragon and I am here to join the Mage Association Golden Dawn to become the greatest mage of them all."
Le Fay? Pendragon? Mage Association! Holy shit! I was wondering about this situation when I woke up in this wagon out of nowhere, but this is already too much. Oh no! Am I on an isekai? I swear, if this Mage Association is anything like Harry Potter I'll run away like there's no tomorrow.
"Hey, are you okay? I know I was rude before but I apologized…" she said, looking really apologetic.
"No, it's not your fault, I'm just a little sick of this wagon rocking all the time" I say this to calm her down but also to buy time, since I don't know how to introduce myself,I really don't know what my name is.
This is really a problem. What do I tell her? Should I come up with a name out of nowhere for myself? I can't find another solution to the situation.
Her last name is Pendragon, right? Of the Arthurian legends. So just in case I think it's better to name myself something not too strange in relation to that.
"Cough! Cough! It's a pleasure to meet you Le Fay, my name is... Lance... lot."
She turns her head and looks at me strangely "Lance Lotte? Hmm, what a weird name."
"No Pendragon! The name is…" At the moment I was going to correct this very serious mistake on her part, the wagon stopped abruptly, causing all the people in the wagon to wake up and lose their hats due to the impact.
At the sound of several grunts coming from the people who woke up rudely in the cart, I finally noticed the driver of the cart, he was a person of medium height, with clothes similar to the people sitting and with the hat blocking his face, however, the long clothes and hat had some more adornments, they were bluer and the sparkly details seemed to really sparkle, but what I focused the most on was the silver necklace on it with a triangle shaped pendant and housed in it is a blue stone that looked very precious.
If my first focus is apparently on a gemstone maybe Le Fay wasn't wrong when she called me a gentleman thief.
He stands and turns to those seated in the wagon, which includes me, and says gruffly. "Get up, I didn't want to be here, but I had to."
He gets down from where he was leading and starts moving forward. "I'll give you a tip for you, possible initiates, don't antagonize the short blonde there, she woke up much earlier than all of you, for her body to ignore the effect of the sleeping potion so quickly. If that doesn't already show her talent, I don't know what will." He tell us that while looking at Le Fay, she doesn't seem to understand what he said.
"Now follow me, i want to get this over with as soon as possible, so I can get back to my studies. in line".
The five of us got up to follow him, the moment I hit the ground I realized we weren't in the only wagon. There were five wagons carrying five people each, not counting the driver, all the people had the same clothes, however, without the hats that probably flew off, I finally managed to realize that I was in a totally different place, this thanks to the bizarre collection of different hair colors that people had.
I also finally managed to analyze where we were, and it was what appeared to be a rural area, without buildings or points that would currently look modern, apparently we followed a cobblestone road, which explains the exaggerated shaking on the route, and around us there was a flat field as far as the eye can see.
The only point of interest in the landscape was a gigantic bright purple tent with star designs around it with only one entrance as if it were a circus tent, apparently that was where our destination was.
"Wow, let's go Lance!" Apparently Le Fay wasn't shocked by the oddity and happily went on to form the line.
I needed to find out where I was and why I was here, there seemed to be only one way to find out. "Ok, let's get this over with".
Me and Le Fay ended up getting close to the beginning of the line, at the entrance of the weird tent there was another person with the same robes as the conductor including the silver necklace, he was apparently there to lead the line, I couldn't see his features but just by the voice you could tell how much he didn't want to be there.
"Next." The man says, and the first person enters, after five minutes the man speaks again for the next one to enter, even though no one has left the tent.
I was starting to get nervous, so I started trying to pay attention to something beyond the unknown, so I turned my face to Le fay's back and realized she was shaking.
"Pendragon, are you okay?"
She turns to me with a very shaken face. "What if I don't make it? Maybe this is my only chance, what if I let my big brother down. I know he's strong, but…"
"Le Fay" I grab her shoulders and bend down a little to look her straight in the eyes. "I don't know what you came here to do, I honestly don't even know what's going on! But, if your brother loves you, no matter what, he will be proud of you. So lift your head and show what's in the cabin and show yourself."
Maybe they were empty words, maybe they were words for myself, maybe i had a younger brother or sister and my older brother's senses have activated, but either way it seemed to work. Le fay dries the beginnings of tears with her hands and gives me a quick hug. "Thanks Lance, you don't know what that meant to me" and shows a big smile to me.
"Ha!", I let out a small laugh, impressed how this girl is expressive, "it was nothing, but I have to remind you, the name is not Lance, and Lancel…"
"Next". Before I knew it, it was Le fay's turn.
"Wish me luck!"
"I would wish but I know you can do it". and I show her my smile, even though it's a villainous smile in her words.
Then she enters the cabin.
Something must have happened in the cabin, normally a person's turn lasts around 5 minutes, and I'm already waiting around 15, my nervousness is being replaced by worry, if nothing happens and there are no signs of Le Fay, I will enter the cabin, even if it is dangerous.
But my concern must have been unnecessary, for after another minute I was called in.
I was tired of surprises, but it looks like they won't end anytime soon. Upon entering the cabin, I find myself in a very well furnished room, the furniture was all wood and the walls were covered with books to the ceiling, this was a room that would not fit in a circus tent.
But the focus of the room was the large wooden table in the center of the room, in one of its chairs sat an elderly lady with a serious face but a little pale, it looks like something happened before. "I'm sorry for the delay little boy, but let's say that the last person who came in was a special case".
The woman says putting both hands together above the table. "Please come sit down and drink this bottle".
A strange bottle of bright blue liquid, similar to a conductor's necklace, was on the table. I had no idea what it was, but the old woman's face gave me the message that she didn't like to be questioned.
I drink from the bottle and she praises me. "Very well, it's always nice to see obedient students like you. Now let's start the tests."
In addition to the now empty flask there are three items on the table, a goblet with the same bright blue liquid, a red stone and a face mirror.
"First let's start with the goblet", the woman puts her left hand on the goblet "I want you to hold the goblet and think about changing what's inside it". I take the goblet and try as she said, I close my eyes and focus, I open them and see that nothing has changed inside the cup.
"The liquid looks the same, the weight and color look the same" she takes the cup and drinks from it. "The taste has changed a bit, it's a little salty, it seems you have at only a bit of mana, a shame". She says unimpressed, which makes me a little angry.
"Now the stone, take it, hold it tight and focus only inthe center of it"
I do as told and now the reaction was different. "Now it is more like that!" the lady said.
I open my hand, the stone that used to be all red now had just a small red dot with the rest pure black. "It seems that even with low mana your control on it is superb, maybe you will be accepted. Now to the final test"
She takes the mirror and hands it to me. "Usually this test is just a formality, but you never know when a Sacred Gear user might show up". I look in the mirror and... wait a minute, did she said sacred gear?
Now I feel completely lost, but before I start asking non-stop questions, I see my reflection for the first time.
I had already noticed that I was tall, especially compared to Le Fay, but my face was a surprise. I was the living definition of "rogueish", i has a light brown complexion with unkempt, wavy black hair that falls over my eyes. my eyes are crimsom red and have long eyelashes. Despite the messy hair he looks taken care of.
And then I heard him for the first time.
So ThE UseR oF OnE of mY ParTS IS a HuMaN MaGe HAHAHAHA! goOd LUcK! YOu wiLL NeEd IT.
Suddenly I felt a weight in my left arm and there it was, a small black bracer in the form of a small and cute black chameleon-like lizard with violet eyes and a deformed, almost cartoonist face.
So reality finally dawned on me.
I'm in another world.
I am the user of a cursed and weak sacred gear called Absorption Line.
On the way here I met a secondary character in a story of dragons and devils.
And finally I feel the weight of knowing that I am a weak human who is about to be part of a cannon fodder group in a world where gods and monsters that can destroy continents walk among normal schoolgirls.
Sadly, I was too shaken to hear the last words of the lady in front of me. "Congratulations, welcome to the magical world of mages".
I don't feel magical at all.
Here is the first chapter of Rebellion of The Weak Soul.
It wasn't a chapter with a lot of dialogue, but I felt I needed to do it that way to show Lance Lotte's confusion (Haha.)
Now, I intend to bring you one chapter a week, between monday and tuesday. If you liked it and want to help me, I have a , I would love it if you could encourage me.
Good Week Guys.
