A spontaneous heat. That's was Bruce called it. Just as quickly as it comes, it can leave. But with the scent of a fresh mark, it was long to figure out what happened to her and by who. Still, she was on close watch.
Now in the meeting room, Kaylee watched sadly as Steve and Bucky paced around the room. Tony had called an emergency Avengers meeting and told FRIDAY to tell them to come as well. She felt uneasy watching the two looking worried.
Tony was the last to come through into the living room, an unreadable look on his face.
"Listen," he started, coming in and seating in his favorite chair for meetings.
"What does Fury want?" Steve blurted out, looking worriedly at the billionaire.
"That he's allowed to go to Disney with everyone next week," Tony responded deadpanned, making the room freeze. "And Kay."
There was a long pause.
"What?" Steve piped, his eyebrow raised in a smile.
"Kaylee and Bucky are allowed to go to Disneyland with all of us next week," Tony repeated.
"Wait- we're going to Disney?" Bruce questioned, his lips quirked in curiosity.
"Yep."
There was another pause before the room erupted intos joys of laughter and excitement. Everyone got a few days off to enjoy vacation in Disneyland, California. Tony had promised to keep a tight rope on Kaylee and Bucky with Fury nearly breathing down their necks no with their new curfew.
Everyone was going to stay in the hotel closest to the parks but roommates were going to be hard to fix, but manageable. It was basically obvious who was going to stay with who. Kaylee looked up at her alpha in question. But smiled, she's never had a vacation before.
It was the last night of the Avenger's vacation, heading back to New York in the morning after breakfast. Disney was truely a dream come true for the small omega as she chased the betas around and pulled away from things by the alphas of the group. Her alpha watched her with a keen eye, allowing her to feel whatever she wanted.
Made it to the place they wanted to be at an hour before the fireworks started so they wouldn't be bombarded with others and, hopefully, left alone. Everyone was there. There was quiet chatter among the heroes as they watched how Bucky engaged with a childlike Kaylee, something they haven't seen nearly a year. She was drawing in her notepad on the table, periodically showing Bucky her progress and talking about everything that came to her mind.
"It's almost time for fireworks, Little Bird," Bucky warned. "How about you put your drawing book in your bag?"
"Good idea!" she nodded while putting her colored pencils and pens into the small bag she had that carried her autograph book for all the characters she saw and knickknacks. She pulled out her mouse ears she had in it and ended them to Bucky. "Can you put them on me?"
The alpha scoffed, a soft smile on lips. "Sure," he responded, gently taking the band and placing it on her head, brushed her hair behind her ears. "Come with me," he said, standing up. "It's about to start."
Kaylee waddled after him as he walked towards the fence separating them from the water. She leaned over the fence, watching the small fish swim by. Bucky stood behind her in a protective manner and wrapped his arms around her, his head on hers.
As the fireworks started, the omega watched with amazement both in the air and the water. Her alpha watched her. Weeks have happened since their first love making but it felt like an eternity. The tears, the fights, the 'is it worth it?'s, led to this moment.
"Kaylee?" he called to her over the booms.
"Yes, alpha?" she responded, trying to look up at him from the side.
"Will you marry me, Little Bird?"
She twisted around to fully look at him, not hearing him the first time. "What?"
Bucky chuckled softly, enjoying her confused face. "Marry me, Kaylee."
The smile.
"Yes."
