Chapter 3
Author's notes:
It's been a long time. I apologize I had lost track of time in life and had lost my interest in this for awhile. I accidentally came across this again and have rekindled my inspiration and am planing on finishing what I have plan for this story.
'Oh no.' Was the first thing she thought as kushala Dora looked straight at her. His steel jaws stained from the blood of the Gurenzeburu.
She had the sense he was peeved. Sylvia stood up to face him, hoping Valerie stayed unconscious.
He approached with predatory grace. Kushala arched his neck downwards, a large amount of cold air left him chilling her as he tried to contain his irritation with this human. He went to fetch her for his own entertainment only to find her the possible meal of some lowly wyvern. His tail swished in agitation. He took another deep breath and focused on her only to noticed her line of sight was not on him, but his tail. He moved his tail again and saw worry cross her face.
He then turned around and noticed another human on the ground. She was alive he confidently knew he could hear that human's noisy breathing from here. He looked back at his human and debated whether or not he should tell her companion is alright.
He rolled his eyes after she gave him a pleading look.
"That human is alright."
Sylvia sagged in relief. "Thank goodness..." she said quietly to herself.
He decided to ignore that. He snapped his jaws together creating a booming sound of metal hitting metal.
Her eyes snapped up to him looking like a terrified Kelbi.
"Now that I have your attention..." he rumbled, " you can tell me why you almost died by a lowly wyvern." He ended with a sound of disdain.
His human was quite for a moment before she answered exasperated, "I am recovering from what you did to me! And I wasn't even hunting him I just going for the Ludroths which have all retreated, so now I have to stay here another night and wait till they come out again!"
Sylvia knew she made a huge blunder when she saw kushala rear his head back in shock look positively livid for a brief moment. Until she heard the low rumbling of his laughter.
"This is one of the reasons I chose you to be mine, even though your strength pales in comparison to mine, you still have the gal to accuse me of your weakness."
He kept outright laughing at her.
Sylvia was furious and dumbfounded at the same time. 'This goddamn dragon was mad.!' She thought as she put her hands to her face and let out a frustrated groan.
Then all a sudden it became silent again. She removed her hands from her face , only to be pushed onto her back by his snout. She let out an undignified yelp of surprise as she hit the ground. The miniature wings on her armor bending. Kushala then placed one of his massive claws over her.
'Am I going to die.' She thought quickly, but dashed that though away as soon as it appeared. She wouldn't be alive if he wanted her dead.
He brought his face closer to her. He huff out a breath making her gag from the stench of blood on it.
"I am going to make you into a powerful hunter I can boast about." He declared voice booming across the area.
Immediately after his deceleration her back started to burn the tattoo was burning her. With renew vigor she tried to move from under the clawed hand that held her with one thought going through her mind 'water.' She couldn't care that the wings broke off from her armor all she cared about was stopping the burning.
Yet he was unyielding as she suffered. He never looked away, focused intently on her.
She felt it then. The cold wind coming from him. She felt winds surround her cooling her fiery back with an Icy wind . It was surreal. Just as she felt it; the sensation disappeared and all she could feel was the muddy ground beneath her.
Sylvia blinked her brain finally caught up. She noticed Kushala looked almost tired his scales seemed even rustier then they were before. His claws dug deep in the ground around her. She would be unable to maneuver out his grasp until he let her.
She sighed in defeat and laid back waiting for him to free her.
He stayed in that state for what seemed like forever. she let out a sigh. it brought him off of his stupor focusing back on her lifting his claw and granting her the freedom to move.
She quickly got up and move towards her friend checking for any visible injuries, there were none. She sighed in relief as she held her friend in her lap. Sound of metal scarping metal cause Sylvia to turn her attention back to Kushala Dora watching the most peculiar action. He was cleaning the blood from his maw using his fore paw being careful to not accidentally damage his face with his claws. She could help but be amused by it. It was so feline like.
Kushala Dora paused looking at his paw lost in though before those glowing eyes turned to her in what looked like a smug expression. Before she had time to react he grabbed both of them in his paw as his powerful wings and wind rocketed them southward high in the clouds.
