Finally wrote a double date for the squad! This is sort of a sequel to "The Bergsberg Division of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" where I first reveal the Dirk Gently/Sherlock Hobbs ship and the Todd Brotzman/Farah Black/Tina Tevetino ship. Happy Pride Month!

"I think you all know why I've gathered you here today," Dirk said, looking around at the other four people crowded around a table in a quaint little diner. The four people consisted of his boyfriend, Sheriff Sherlock Hobbs and Hobbs' deputy Tina Tevetino as well as the other two members of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Todd Brotzman and Farah Black.

"Yeah, it's a double date. No big mystery there, Dirk," Todd said. Todd was holding Farah's hand and Farah had her other arm wrapped around Tina.

"Oh, Todd, you're still thinking so small. We're all here because the universe wants us to be here."

"I thought the holistic stuff was over," Hobbs ventured, getting a patient look from his boyfriend.

"The holistic stuff is never over, Hobbs. Which is why I think Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency needs to branch out."

"Oh no," Todd said immediately, "whatever you're about to say, I only signed up to solve holistic mysteries."

"Well, this isn't that different from that. And we've already done it successfully twice before."

"What is 'it' in this scenario," Farah asked, cutting to the chase.

"Holistic matchmaking." Dirk beamed like this was the best idea in the world. His work partners clearly disagreed.

"Absolutely not," Farah said.

"No way," Todd argued, "That sounds like someone else's job. You're a holistic detective and Bart is a holistic assassin, someone else can be the holistic matchmaker."

"But think about it! The universe put us five together. We're dating for holistic reasons."

"Yeah, 'cause who would want to date because of love these days," Farah said sarcastically.

"That's not what I mean, obviously love is involved, but fate is involved too."

"I kind of think it sounds nice. Didn't you ever believe in soulmates, Farah? The red string of fate?" Tina asked.

Farah shrugged, "Love is love but soulmates? That's a bit much, don't you think? I'm happy to just be here with you guys right now. I don't need it to be fate."

"But it is fate," Dirk insisted.

"No, it's a double date. I've been with you long enough to know fate when I see it. This was you sending a text in the group chat asking if all of us wanted to meet for lunch," Todd argued.

"Sugar," Hobbs said gently, "I believe in fate as much as the next guy and I certainly think you're my soulmate but maybe Todd and Farah are right about this one. Stick to solving holistic mysteries and let the universe tie its little red strings wherever it's supposed to."

Dirk sulked a little until Hobbs started rubbing his back.

"We have two successful cases so far, two successful romantic exploits. We could be doing so much more…"

"But you don't get to decide that, do you?" Farah asked.

"Yeah. You didn't decide to be a holistic detective and I didn't decide to be your work partner. It just happened. Just like our relationships just happened. I'm pretty sure you can't force this kind of thing," Todd said, leaning over and kissing Farah and Tina's cheeks in turn.

Hobbs leaned over and stole a kiss of his own, "Anything could happen, love. I for one am excited to wait and see with you."

Dirk Gently looked around at the table of people who he loved and nodded, "Yeah, I suppose you're right… I'm excited too."
