Love in Motion
(Trio) George and Angelina
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.
George laid awake next to his new wife, wide awake despite not getting much sleep the night before due to pre wedding anxiety. Something bothering him, something silly he figured but it was still there.
What if Angelina only agreed to marry him because he looked like Fred? It made sense in his sleep deprived mind; they were twins after all, identical in looks even if their personalities differed in some degrees. Fred was the one who would take the initiative while he just followed behind; Fred was more outgoing and loud while George was quiet and gentle. She always did seem interested in Fred after all.
After all, Angelina did attend the Yule Ball with Fred while George himself went with Katie Bell. He wondered how Katie was doing, sad that he lost contact with her after the war.
What if he was just second best?
Deciding to clear his head without waking his sleeping wife, the newly wed man carefully slipped out of bed. Pulling his robe on, he slipped out the hotel room and started down the beach, not a destination in mind.
Waves crashed against the white sandy shore as the moon shined down on the water, reflecting into George's eyes. He decided it was a good call suggesting Jamaica to honeymoon in, it wasn't too hot at night, just a dry and humid heat. He left his sandals in the room, preferring to feel the sand under his feet.
"Something wrong?"
Wincing, George turned around to see a concerned Angelina rubbing her eyes and clutching her robe closed. Despite looking exhausted, she still looked like the most beautiful woman in the world to him.
"Nothing," he lied, hoping the darkness hid his embarrassed face.
"That's not true," Angelina softly argued, stepping closer to him. "If it was nothing, you would be asleep right now."
The newly wed husband turned away, looking over the waves as they rushed towards the shore. He debated on whether to say what had been bothering him, it seemed rather silly to him.
"George?" Angelina prompted softly.
Swallowing his insecurity, the redhead took a deep breath. "Did you only marry me because I look like Fred?" He blurted out.
Before the woman could say anything, he rambled on. "I mean, you went to the Yule Ball with him... and lit up anytime he was around. It seemed like you barely noticed me like how everyone else does."
Closing the space between them, Angelina put a hand up to put a end to her husband's tirade. "Is that what you think?"
Feeling even more embarrassed, the lone twin nodded. The only sound for miles was the water and occasional seagull, making him want to jump into the sea and swim away.
"That's not even remotely true," the new wife assured. "I love you, you may look like him but you are your own person." She wrapped her slender arms around him. "I always noticed you."
George cracked a smile. "I'm sorry I acted like this."
"It's okay, now let's go back to bed."
Hand in hand, the newly wed couple strolled back to their hotel room, leaving sandy footprints in their wake.
