Ronald: Poor Mei, and even Ako knew he really messed things up. But Mei felt even worse...

Ako(revealing himself to be human): Oh man, that was a disaster. And it's all my fault.

(At the farm. Mei is greeted with a warm, yet unknowing smile by her father, but, humiliated, she turns away and takes their horse Yang to the stable.)

Mei(singing): Look at me. I will never pass for a perfect bride or a perfect daughter. Can it be, I'm not meant to play this part? Now I see that if I were truly to be myself, I would break my family's heart. Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know? Who is that perfect bride? It's not me, though I've tried. When will my reflection show who I am inside?

Ako(singing): How I pray, that a time will come. I can free myself from their expectations. On that day, I'll discover someway to be myself and to make this family proud. They want a docile lamb. No one knows who I am. Must there be a secret me I'm forced to hide?

Both(singing): Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time? When will my reflection show who I am inside? When will my reflection show who I am inside?

(Turning and standing up, Mei screams when she sees Ako)

Ako: Hey. Hey! Hold on! Look, I know what you're thinking. And believe me, the feeling's mutual.

Mei: But you were...

Ako: I know, it's hard to even fathom the fact. But, you gotta trust me here.

Mei: Maybe for now, just leave me alone.

Bao: My, my, what beautiful blossoms we have this year. But look, this one's late. I bet when it blooms, it will be the most beautiful of all.

(Mei smiles. Just then, the two hear drums beating)

Mei: What is it?

(Imperial soldiers and Lord Wen come riding over a hill.)

Pema: Mei, Cho, stay inside.

Granny Fei: Ahem. There are other routes when one is blocked, you know.

Lord Wen: Citizens! I bring a proclamation from the Imperial City! The Black Claw has invaded Ji-Hou! By order of the Emperor, one man from every family must serve in the Imperial Army. When I call upon your clan, bring forth your bravest male. The Chow Family! The Yee Family!

Man: I will serve the Emperor in my father's place.

Lord Wen: The Yin Family!

Mei and Cho: No!

(Their father walks over to Lord Wen.)

Bao: I am ready to serve the Emperor.

Mei: Father, you can't go!

Bao: Mei!

Cho: Please, sir, our father has already fought for-

Lord Wen: Silence! You will do well to teach your daughters to hold their tongues in a man's presence.

Sho: I think you two have done enough for one day, sisters. But if I may try to...

Lord Wen: No need, you have done much for your land than it has for you, Sho. Report tomorrow at the Moo-Shung Camp.

Bao and Sho: Yes, sir.

Ronald: Now, the reason why Sho was already a soldier for the Empire is because he had joined them on several occasions when dealing with bandits and deserters. But it was very clear he also didn't want his father to get involved, in the state he was in.

(In Bao's bedroom, he yanks open his closet, revealing a suit of Ji-Hou armor, and unsheathes a sword. Mei and Cho watch. He practices techniques, but his leg gives out and he falls against a pillar, panting.)

Sho: Father. I insist you let me do what I can, whereas you cannot.

Bao: No Sho. I must bring honor to them...all of them.

Sho: Father...(As he walks out)Did you see it all.

Cho: Afraid so.

Sho: Then you know what I now must do, what I have to accomplish for our family!

Cho: But what of our people? Of our honor? You may be willing to throw your life away brother, but we are not!

(At dinner, Mei pours the tea, then sets her cup down with a bang.)

Mei: You shouldn't have to go!

Pema: Mei!

Mei: There are plenty of young men to fight for China!

Bao: It is an honor to protect my country and my family.

Mei: So, you'll die for honor.

Bao: I will die doing what's right.

Mei: But if you...

Bao: I know my place. It is time you learned yours.

(Outside)

Cho: So, what now? Sho just can't stop trying to be a hero, and father insists that he can fight! But, while Sho has managed to get by without a scrape, father is in the worst shape possible.

Ronald: It was then and there that both sisters knew-they had to step up. And so, against their family's wishes, and to prove they could also be heroes, Mei and Cho secretly disguised themselves as men, then took their father's conscription notice, armor, and weapons so that he will not have to go, while getting Cho an extra set in the process. The task was not to be an easy one, as they figured while riding atop Yang. And somehow, they wouldn't go unnoticed...

Granny Fei: Mei and Cho are gone!

Bao: What? It can't be... Mei! Cho! No ...

Pema: You must go after them. They could be killed.

Bao: If I reveal them, they will be.

Ako(shocked): Mei... Cho... Gone?

Sho: The thought is heavy on my mind as well, friend.

Granny Fei: Ancestors, hear our prayer. Watch over our daughters.

Ronald: Now, for those of you who don't know anything about what she's talking about, I think it's safe to say things are much ado about something.

Great Ancestor Wong: Chu, awaken.

(The statue shakes and smokes.)

Chu: I live! So, tell me, what mortal needs my protection, Great Ancestor. You just say the word, and I'm there.

Great Ancestor Wong: Chu...

Chu: And lemme say something, anyone who's foolish enough to threaten OUR family, vengeance will be MINE! Grr...arrgh...

Great Ancestor Wong: Chu! These are the family guardians. They...

Chu: Protect the family.

Great Ancestor Wong: And you, O Demoted One...

Chu: I ring the gong.

Great Ancestor Wong: That's right. Now, wake up the Ancestors ...

Chu: One family reunion coming right up. Okay, people, people, look alive! Let's go, c'mon, get up! Let's move it! Rise and shine! Y'all way past the beauty sleep thing.

Ancestor Bai: I knew it, I knew it. Those girls were troublemakers from the start.

Ancestor Chan: Don't look at me, they get it from your side of the family!

Ancestor Wuya: She's just trying to help her father!

Ancestor Long: But if she's discovered, Father Bao will be forever shamed. Dishonor will come to the family. Traditional values will disintegrate!

Ancestor Han: Not to mention they'll lose the farm!

Ancestor Bai: My children never caused such trouble; they all became acupuncturists!

Ancestor Chan: Well, we can't all be acupuncturists!

Ancestor Wei: No! Your great-granddaughter had to be a CROSS-DRESSER!(The Ancestors start to argue)

Ancestor Bao: Let a guardian bring her back!

Ancestor Chan: Yes! Awaken the most cunning!

Ancestor Long: No! The swiftest!

Ancestor Suyin: No, send the wisest!

Great Ancestor Wong: SILENCE! We will send the most powerful of all.

Chu: Okay, okay, I get the gist. I'll go.(Laughter results at Chu's expense)Well, y'all don't think I can do it! Watch this here! Ah-hah! Jump back, I'm pretty hot. But I don't have to singe nobody to prove no point.

Great Ancestor Wong: You had your chance to protect the Yin Family.

Ancestor Wei: Your misguidance led Kai to disaster!

Kai: Yeah, thanks a lot.

Chu: And your point is?

Great Ancestor Wong: The point is, we will be sending a REAL dragon to retrieve Mei and Cho.

Chu: What? What? I'm a real lizard! You should at least give me a chance!

Great Ancestor Wong: You're not even worthy of this spot! Now, awaken the Great Stone Dragon!

Chu: So, you'll get back to me on the job thing, right?(Outside)Just one chance. Is that too much to ask? I mean, it's not like it'll kill you. Yo, Rocky, wake up! You gotta go fetch Mulan! C'mon, boy! Go get her! Go on! C'mon!(She climbs up on the statue, dragging the gong.)Grr ... arrgh. Grr. Hello? Helloooo? HELLO!(She hits the ear of the dragon with the gong, and it falls off. Suddenly, the entire statue falls apart.)Uh-oh ... Uh ... Stoney? Stoney ... Oh, man, they're gonna kill me!

Great Ancestor Wong: Great Stone Dragon! Have you awakened?

Chu(Holding up the head of the Great Stone Dragon): Uh, yes, I just woke up! Um, I am the Great Stone Dragon! Good morning! I will go forth and fetch the sisters! Did- did I mention that I am the Great Stone Dragon?

Great Ancestor Wong: Go! The fate of the Yin family rests in your claws.

Chu: Don't even worry about it. I will not lose face.(She loses her balance and tumbles down the hill, the dragon head landing on top of her.]Ow, ah, my elbow. Oh, oh, I know I twisted something.(She lifts the head off, and reverts to her own human form.)That's just great, now what? I'm doomed, and all because Ms. Man and her dear sister decided to take a little drag show on the road.

Sho: Heh, well then for a trio like us, I do feel a solution to this debacle.

Chu(scoffs): And that would be?

Ako: Why don't we go get them.

Chu: Go GET them! What's the matter with you? After this Great Stone Humpty Dumpty mess, I'd have to bring them back with a medal to get back in the Temple! Wait a minute! That's it! I make them war heroes, and they'll be begging me to come back to work! That's the master plan! Oh, you've done it now, man.

Sho: Whoa now, who said you'd be in this for yourself.

Chu: Well, I am glad you're coming for brotherly support.

Ako: Wait for me.

Chu: And what makes you think you're coming?

Ako: Because I happen to be a very lucky cricket.

Chu: You're LUCKY? Do I look like a sucker to you?

Ako: You are such a loser.

Chu: What do you mean, a loser? What if I pop one of you antennae off and throw it across the yard, then who's the loser, or me?

Ako: Who cares?

Sho: Come on, we've got to keep moving.

Ronald: Meanwhile, the Black Claw was on the move. After they'd burned a village down, they stopped short at a marsh, which gave Tor time to think while Barad, Shen, and Dox were searching for something.

Tor(thinking): Heh, hard to believe we made it this far. When we breached that wall, I never realized how easy it was...

(The other three come in, having brought two Ji-Hou soldiers over to Kai.)

Barad: Imperial Scouts.

Shen: Caught them by the river, sir.

Dox: Never stood a chance.

Ronald: The skittish scouts soon realized who they were dealing with. Kai Han was everything as his father was, and then some.

Kai: Nice work, gentlemen. You've found the Black Claw army.(Laughter)

Scout: The Emperor will stop you.

Kai: Stop me! No. He invited me. By building his wall, he challenged my strength. Well, I'm here to play his game. Go! Tell your Emperor to send his strongest armies. I'm ready. Say, Shen... How many men does it take to deliver a message?

Shen: One.
