The Princess Groom

Ch.17: Gaining Wings

As we exited Charlie's room into the lobby, Angel, Alastor, and Vaggie were waiting. Alastor had his staff and had his eyes closed, concentrating. Vaggie walked over to the both of us, nervous.

"Good luck you two." She whispered.

We nodded at her. Angel stepped back, knowing Alestor's teleportation spell needed space. Comically, he tripped onto Husker, who was sitting on the couch. Knowing the area needed to be calm, Husker merely gave him an annoyed glare.

Finally, Alastor opened his eyes.

"For all of our sakes" he said "Do well. And good luck!" He shouted. In front of us then came a portal. We saw a golden road in front of us. Taking hands, Charlie and I stepped through.

"This. Oh my..."

We were speechless. Heaven was beautiful. Mansions of immense beauty with gardens galore. A sign informed that we were on the Road to God, and his dwelling.

Charlie blushed. "Can you imagine Hell being like this someday?"

I smiled. Though I was Skeptical of the idea, it was a warm thought.

Making the decision to enjoy the sights, we could only gaze around. A market for fruits and vegetables were to our left, where citizens shopped. One of the shoppers turned to us with a smile. I could only wave at her and tell her I loved her. She was my Grandma Sara.

Before long, Charlie and I stood in front of the front doors to a mansion. The biggest and brightest of them all. Knocking together, we stepped back.

Then the door opened.
