The Princess Groom
Ch.18: Resolution
It was Him. God, with his white robe, Sandy hair, and heartwarming smile, looked at both of us. I shook. He smiled and reached out, taking my hand. "All is forgiven, my child. I hold no anger towards your anger."
I nodded. "Thank you, Father."
He turned to Charlie. He grinned and pulled her into a hug. "It has been so long! How are you, Charlie?"
"Great!" Charlie said cheerfully. "Just. Preparing for the wedding."
He nodded. "We will be watching. Come, come" he said gesturing us in, where we sat on the floor. Compared to your typical floor, it was comfortable.
"So" he said. "This meeting is over the Exterminations. Charlie, you filed that paperwork with great urgency. What do you two have to tell me?"
Charlie frowned, looking down. She told him.
God wept. Openly wept. Me and Charlie crowded around him, consoling him. He sniffed. "My angels...my Angels! They will be greatly punished for this evil!"
He straightened, calming. "We have a proposal, Grandfather" Charlie said.
He chuckled. "You always do, Granddaughter. Tell me."
Charlie's idea was this: A hold on exterminations for 3 years. Charlie and I would try to make the Hotel a big success. If exterminations had to continue, children could not be killed under any circumstances, nor anyone within me and Charlie's circle.
God smiled. "It is done" he said, sealing it with a handshake. Charlie shook. God had a firm grip. He turned to me.
"My child. You have been through much, that has led you to this moment. Tell me anything you desire for your family, and I will grant it."
My answer was quick. "Happiness."
He snapped his fingers. "Done. Before you two go, would you like to visit the market? It has great oranges this time of year."
Naturally, we agreed.
They waited nervously. Lucifer and Lilith had arrived to wait. Suddenly, Lucifer shook, a power surge going through him. He fell to his knees.
"Lucifer!" Lilith yelled, running to his side. He smiled.
"A deal was made" he said, explaining the deal. There were cheers. Just then, we walked through, glomped by all. Angel was weeping, Lilith was singing, Alastor was grinning. Life was amazing.
I then stepped back, feeling it. A surge. My glasses faded away. It was time for me.
To transform.
