(Percy's P.O.V)

Noon (Lunch at the Dining Pavilion)

I sat there at the Poseidon table with my half-brother Tyson, he's a Cyclopes. I looked straight at the table on the other side of the Pavilion and saw the Athena Table. I found the eyes of my girlfriend staring right back at me. She blew me a kiss, and I pretended to catch it. We both blushed and then smiled at each other and continued to eat. On my plate sat a portion of some BBQ chicken with nuggets and I had blue Gatorade as my drink.

About halfway through the meal each of us stood up and walked, over to the fire pit, and scraped a portion of our food into the flames and I said."For the gods.", I hope the gods like BBQ chicken. All of us did so and then we all sat back down.

After we had finished our food, Chiron, now in centaur form said." My dear Campers, I have an important announcement to make, so would all of you start heading to the Amphitheater at this time, please?"

As we made our way to the Amphitheater, I felt someone's presence coming up behind me and I looked behind me and saw Annabeth walking right up next to me, taking my hand."Hi, Seaweed Brain, what you up to?" she grinned sheepishly.

" Heading to the Amphitheater, you?" I reply.

Same" she replied. I still remember the summer we kissed underwater. Then four months after, Hera stole my memories temporarily, placed me at Camp Jupiter, and in turn the same thing happened to Jason Grace. Then I and Annabeth went through that horrible journey through Tartarus.

And finally, went to defeat Gaea and the giants at Athens on the crest of the Acropolis. All of that seems like it happened a lifetime ago. "Man, how time flies." I thought to myself.

"Well, see you there, Seaweed Brain, love you and all that." She grins and her grey stormy eyes sparkle.

As all of the campers took their places on the rows, everyone looked at Chiron who stood next to the campfire. He looked quite stricken with the announcement he was about to make. I kinda felt bad for him.

"Campers, I have some unsettling news to share with you today. Now before you all go erupting into chaos, listen to what I have to say first, and then I will answer any questions that I know the answers to. And you will go one at a time as well."

Looking pointedly at the Stoll brothers, they seemed to have taken a sudden interest in their shoes. I smirked. I'm glad that I was sitting on the very bottom with Tyson because then I could hear Chiron better.

"Apollo is missing and we haven't heard anything about where he is or where we can find him. And as of this morning, we were sent a small scroll, detailing a quest that must be given to a group of three in order, to free the Gift of Prophecy from the Delphic Cave, find out where Apollo is, and help him defeat Python. Also, the bad news of this announcement is that... Zeus has turned Apollo mortal..yet again." For an exact minute, nobody spoke a single word, and then all Hades broke loose.

So many people started talking all at once. I couldn't even hear my heartbeat in my ears, and that was saying something.

Then Chiron yelled." SILENCE!." Everyone immediately quieted down.

Nobody spoke.

I will admit when he raised his voice just now it scared me to Tartarus.

"So first off, I will determine which two campers will go with Apollo on this quest. and I believe I have the two perfect people that know him well enough to quest with him. So will the son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson, and the Daughter of Athena, Annabeth Chase, step forward please?"

Chiron asks in a much calmer voice, but he still looks a slight bit annoyed.

As we made it down to the ground, I looked at Annabeth in fear. She knew why I was scared, I could see it in her grey eyes. If this quest is going to be as dangerous and action-filled as I first thought, then we are so dead.

I mean come on, fighting a large green snake as big as a freaking bus has got to seriously scare the Hades out of any self-respecting mortal, half-blood, dryad, naiad, satyr.

Annabeth seems to notice my uneasiness, and she mutters under her breath."Don't worry nothing bad is going to happen on this quest. Okay? so stop worrying. You're making me worry with that look on your face."

"Sorry," I say to her. Then I replace my worried look with a more calm and confident smile.

"That's much better, Seaweed Brain." She whispers. I grin at her even more. Then we reach the bottom of the stairs and walk towards Chiron.

"Thank you, Percy and Annabeth, for partaking in this quest. We will be at Camp, watching your progress and we hope that the two of you will remain safe and protected." Chiron says with hopefulness in his voice.

And yet, I and her can both sense his uneasiness. Well, that's good enough for me that we are all feeling the exact same thing.

"Well, it seems that Percy and Annabeth are ready to go help Apollo, regain the Gift of Prophecy, defeat the snake Python, and try to restore Apollo to his throne. Well, maybe we will have to leave that up to his father Zeus, King of the gods." Chiron seems to be just about finished.

He looked down at Annabeth and me and just smiled. We smiled back.

"You leave at first light, I will have Argus drive you into New York in the morning." He says.

Then he dismissed everyone, including us to go pack for the long journey ahead.
