The portal opened as Leonardo and his brothers jumped back into the lair. They had just got back after their adventure into another dimension. When the portal closed, Leo let out a heavy sigh and collapsed on the sofa. He was glad to be back. He hoped he didn't need to have another argument with other versions of himself ever again. Raphael, his younger brother laughed and sat next to him, patting his shell.
"Man, you sure showed them who's boss, huh Leo?" Raph smirked as his golden eyes gleamed.
Leo knew what his brother was talking about. He and all of the Leonardo's had a disagreement. There were many disagreements they had. One of the argument he had with the other Leonardo's was about Karai and if she can be turned good. Leo believed she couldn't, while the others disagreed and some even had romantic intentions in mind too, much to Leo's displeasure. Unbeknownst to everyone, he was experienced enough to know if someone could be turned good or not and Karai in his dimension, couldn't. She reminded him too much of someone in his past lift. At first he thought the Foot were similar to the Wens, but that changed quickly when Leo discovered her true intentions. Luckily, at that time he was still wary about her. The only Karai he did respected was the one from Dimension 012. Leo could tell she was misguided from the start after he met her. From all of his past life's years of cultivation and encountering people who were similar to 012 Karai really paid off.
The disagreement was that all of the Leonardo's didn't give him a chance to show that he is a capable leader. Leo wasn't sure why they underestimated him. Usually, Leo had always been calm, quiet, and well-mannered. He respected every version of his brothers and didn't mind how different they are. Like in his past life, Leo allowed everyone to speak their mind, no matter how rude their words are. He was used to something like that. There was an incident that where all of the Raphael's were arguing and fighting, Leo accidently got hit in the face and lost his temper. After that all of the Raphael's respected him and for some reason they didn't listen to their own Leonardo.
Then all of the Leonardo's they were all trying to figure out who should be the leader. Leo was quiet during the discussion, since each version of himself was similar, but different in their own ways. While they were all discussing, Leo volunteered to be the leader, since the others got their chance to shine, but they all laughed in his face. They thought he wouldn't be a good leader because of his gentle nature. Fed up with this disrespect, Leo pretty much just took charge without question. Leo had to use his Sect Leader training, which ended up being very useful.
Leo glanced at Raph with his violet eyes, giving him a small smile. "I guess so."
"Come on, Leo, give yourself some credit!" Raph said. "Without you, the other Leos would be toast!"
Leo chuckled. "I guess you're right."
"You know I am."
"Hey Leo!" Michelangelo called out. "Hungry? I'm ordering pizza! What ya want?"
Leo perked up. Ever since he was reborn in the future, the food was strange, but delicious. There were even restaurants that had food that he used to have. Although since he was reborn, Leo was very fond of pizza.
"The usual, veggie pizza and a salad." Leo answered.
"I'm in the mood for seafood pizza, Mikey," Donatello said.
"Hey, don't forget to give me my barbeque pizza, idiot!" Raph yelled.
Mikey rolled his grey eyes. "Well excuse me, princess!"
"What did you call me!" Raph growled.
"Did I hurt your feelings, Your Highness?" Mikey smirked. "Good!"
"Come here you little piece of-"
"Enough!" Leo got in between his younger and youngest brother. "Both of you knock it off. Mikey, order the pizzas. Raph, why not you play with your dog?"
"Okay," Raph nodded, while Mikey said, "Sorry, Lee."
Shaking his head, Leo patted his brothers' head. He glanced at Donnie who was in his lab, who was reading a romance book. He gave his brothers a smile and headed off into his room. He looked back as he saw Mikey ordering their dinner and Raph playing with his dog, Angel. When he locked the door, he laid on his bed, clutching onto his bunny plush toy. It was worn out and one of it's ears is falling apart, which Leo didn't mind. He knew he'll eventually have to sewed it again. Leo sighed and he sat up. He walked across his room where a mirror was. As he stared at himself, he could see there were aspects of his former self when he was a human in his past life. The smile, the shape of his eyes. Hell, even his voice was the same. However, what was most familiar to him was his violet eyes. He remembered having those eyes from his past life. The eyes that made him stand out from the Gusu Lan Sect. The eyes of a Wen.
Leo smiled faintly. Ever since he was reincarnated, he didn't need to worry about telling his brothers about his past life. It was a life that he accepted that it was in the past and unnecessary to tell. He couldn't find a reason to tell them, since the future he was living in didn't need any cultivators. It was best not to trouble his family with his former life. After all, he had accepted his death. Was it tragic? Yes, but he learned to accept that the Sects would never forgive a Wen, even when the last living Wen was only an innocent toddler during the war at the time.
"Leo!" Donnie called.
Right away, Leo raced out of his room. His brothers were with their father, Hamato Yoshi, or Splinter he insisted to be called. April and Casey were there as well. They looked worried, paled, and a bit of shock.
"What happened?" Leo asked.
"Zombies!" Casey cried.
Leo paused. "...What?"
Donnie blinked a few times and stared unamused with his hazel eyes. "Casey, April, zombies don't exist."
"It's true!" April said. "Casey and I were going to see you guys and we saw zombies. We ran and when we look back, they were gone!"
Leo pursed his lips. The only "zombie" he encountered were fierce corpse, but those were different. A zombie in this world would look like a regular human corpse, while a fierce corpse was being controlled by demonic cultivation.
"Donnie, do you think there was a mutagen that was created to turn humans into a zombie-like state?" Leo asked.
"I do believe so," Donnie answered. "I just need a sample of their blood and extract the mutagen out."
"What about pizza?" Mikey questioned. "I even ordered five bowls of fried chicken!"
"Do you always have to think about food, Mikey?" Raph glared at him.
"We'll get your food for you," April said. "Just figure out what's going on."
"Where did you and Casey last saw these...zombies?" Splinter asked.
"Chinatown," Casey replied. "Near Yanli Café."
Leo's eyes widened when he heard the name Yanli, but he quickly regain his composure before anyone notices. He knew that name. It was the name of his cousin's deceased mother, his papa's older sister. He hadn't heard that name in years. Leo knew it had to be a coincidence that a café had his aunt's name.
Then a growling sound caused everyone to look at Mikey. Leo's little brother chuckled and blushed. Raph rolled his eyes and Donnie snickered. The only thing Leo did was to take out a bag of carrots and handed them to Mikey. Gasping, Mikey quickly thanked him and ate his carrots.
"What are you, a rabbit?" Raph laughed.
Leo rolled his eyes. "We can't be ninjas in an empty stomach, Raph. Let's go!"
"Be careful," Splinter said. "All four of you. If anything happens, alert me right away."
Leo and his brothers stared at each other and back at their father. Without a word, the four nodded and bowed. The way Splinter said reminded him of his other father. Always making sure all four of them were safe and always know what they're doing. Unlike his other father, Splinter shows his emotion and always speak his mind.
"Hai Sensei," The four of them said.
Then the four of them gave Splinter a hug, which their father returned. After a few seconds, the quartet let go and ran out of the lair.
