Warp's joints ached when it rained that night when Zurg arrived to a new world, somewhere, he couldn't be sure where. He looked at the rain, the constellations familiar, the spacing between the stars, he had seen the stars in this way before on one planet during a long Space Ranger mission only a few short years ago. It couldn't be the same planet, it's population had been wiped out by a unusual powerful being before his eyes, unless, it hadn't happened yet here.

"Rest well, for a few short hours there will be peace. . ." it was a taunt, a reminder, how the evil emperor had the upper hand. "Until morning, there will not be peace," The emperor was gleeful, a familiar tone, the emperor's next comment would outshine it in the most derogatory way possible. "Warp Darkmatter."

He donned another gray uniform, identical down to the basic design as previous uniforms destroyed by the torture. His last one was destroyed during transit with a method of torture that Warp rather forget. The evil emperor was thorough, Warp would give him that, ruthless, stubborn.

He rested in the cell made of energy, the aching pronounced, aching all over, it hurt. The Space Ranger's gaze shifted toward the night sky wondering to himself what mission that his team were on. Nothing could stop them when they made a decision, saw through the easy ways to accomplish it, some cheating necessary with a few rules being disregarded and bend to get the mission done, in the end winning against evil. He felt pride in them recalling how, at times, he saw them change the plan during a mission and they pulled it off as a team without calling each other via comn.

He snapped back to, it was daylight, the bars were gone, his stomach grumbled, his arms were strapped to something, and his back felt as if it rested on something rounded. One of the hornets pressed something on to his stomach then withdrew the object-what did they do? His hunger subsided, of course, the hornet had injected nutrients. The hornets waited by the side of the large ball, as the emperor proceeded to stride into view with his hands linked behind his back.

"WHAT IS THE ANNIVERSARY ABOUT?"

"Do you have feet or are your legs just rockets?"

"ANSWER my question!"

"Your legs is the anniversary, we solved it in the other world."

Warp watched the show begin once again, the rage building up, the trembling, ready to bloom.

"Curse you, Warp Darkmatter!" Zurg turned away from him. "Hornets, catapult him!"

The grip was released and Warp was sent flying into the air with a loud cry.

"WooooOOOOOOOooohooooooooooooo!"

The ball flew, twirling, as he enjoyed the sweet scent being carried in the air. Whatever happened next, Zurg would have his hornets fix that. Then he would do another variation, if painful, using the catapult to stress his already stressed out joints, more damage than before, knowing the evil emperor. Rehab is going to be a pain in the ass. The reflection of that thought was all but a distant thought that didn't matter to the now.

He stopped cheering when the ball proceeded to fall. With the high speed of the fall and the relative quick sight of the ground getting closer, Warp passed out in the terror. He awoke, once more, this time, his binds broken and he were set beside a large mine opening. He looked over, seeing familiar text, his eyes flipped open, he had been there with his team. Warp lifted himself up then saw a group of teenagers from afar, peeking out the wilderness, then fought to lift himself up and used his hand to get up to his feet.

He were going to destroy the very artifact that started that mess in his world with his bare hands. The cave, in reality, was a temple that allowed others to appear as how they saw themselves and let them appear that way after they exit, a gift, a wish, according to the ancient writings that Mira translated. The mine had lost it's notable features due to the plants, the trees, and the grass that had grown atop it, harmed mostly by the roots.

He entered the cave with a grunt. The cave outlining his form in a bright yellow line; his injuries coated by a gray film applying pressure to the wound and be neatly wrapped around it, then he appeared in his Space Ranger suit with his blue wings. He walked in to the cavern, lifting his arm, firing a entrance way to the artifact, it required a very simple thing to destroy it as had been attempted by Booster when the odds were all against them and succeeded. The sun around this world was going to vanish very suddenly in a few days and the beast would be unleashed.

With much shooting, he found the artifact in question, exactly how it had been said to appear by the survivors who were there during the first event, after the planet began to get cold, after the creature began to appear and slaughtered the civilians. He arrived to the glowing ball that was turning blue, it were hovering above the ground by a mere few feet. He turned in the direction, the same teenagers from before, then glared at them.

"Tell Star Command," Warp said then fondly smiled. "it was me."

"Who are you?"

"Space Ranger Warp Darkmatter."

"What are you doing here?"

"Saving your world courtesy of Evil Emperor Zurg."

"It's sacred, it must not be touched! Step away from it!"

"Yeah, and Zurg is coming, get out of here." Warp turned away then smiled fondly looking down upon the ball. "To infinity, and beyond."

He turned his attention away then cradled it against his chest, then closed his eyes, allowing it phase through his being, pained, letting it consume his heart. Booster's words echoed in his mind, "All I did was use love to restart the sun." A comment that touched Mira and XR who hugged the giant while Warp was distantly trapped under a boulder with a busted communications console. Warp thought about Buzz, he thought about his grandparents, his parents, he thought about Star Command, he thought about his crew, he thought about the academy, he thought of all the things that he loved varying from all the kinds of love.

He burned, and burned, and burned. He let go of that everlasting love and traded it in for the feeling of becoming cold for becoming warm letting it go on to beyond. He collapsed, as the ball arose, lifting up through the layers of the temple, soaring for the sun. And then he felt some warmth return while coming back to. Warp felt cold, he lifted his hand up, observing how it looked like it were made of ice, the fact that the teenagers were on the ground, huddled together, their flashlights on the ground, aimed at him, blinding the Space Ranger. He attempted to lift the communication console up but halted, it was iced over, his uniform had taken the brunt of the trade, shielding him, just as it had been intended to.

He lifted himself up to his feet, then stripped out of the ice, discarding it to the side, until he were in his off duty uniform, a green hoody and long trousers. He limped out of the cavern walking over the collapsed teenagers, why had they fallen? A answer to a unusual question that deserved questions and in a depth study of the answers, he didn't have the luxury of that as he entered a cold environment, snow blowing back and forth on the snow dunes. He slipped his hands into his hoody pockets with his breath hanging in the air taking a few steps forward climbing up the path ahead of him.

Zurg's familiar red optics stared out of the snow dunes staring at the Space Ranger from afar quite distantly. Warp made a snowman, laughing, then used a couple sticks to finish it off, adding a familiar twirl at the bottom of the head. A pang of sorrow hit him, reminding him, of Buzz Lightyear, but not the same as it were before. All that was left was regret and shame when looking at the image. Beneath that were sorrow, acceptance, resolve when facing the snowman.

The winter environment was replaced by a tropical landscape in the matter of a few minutes then he fell landing on to his side with a cry. He fell back down to the ground clutching his wounded arm facing the incoming foe.

"Next, we're doing horses!" Zurg announced, then snapped his claws and turned away. "Hornets!"
