Ace slowly opened his eyes upon hearing the sweet melody of a flute being played near his ear. He focused his eyes and he could see that there was indeed a flute being played over him. As for the music, he recognized it as the Chocobo song. He liked to hum it in his spare time.

Only one person he knew played the theme like that. "Deuce..."

The girl stopped playing the flute and looked down at the sleepy blond whose head was on her lap. "Hello there, sleepy head."

Deuce and Ace of Class Zero were spending time together, away from missions and battlefields, and Ace had totally slept through their little get together.

"I am so sorry."

She gently hushed him, "It's okay." His apology wasn't a big deal to her. They had chatted for a little bit when they got together but Ace had been yawning left and right as they did and eventually he fell asleep. Deuce didn't mind. Just spending time with him was enough for her. So she played a little lullaby for her boyfriend as he slept. They were in her bed, after all, and she wanted him to be comfortable as possible. Deuce was a pleasant girl and no doubt the most dignified of the Class Zero girls. Ace had charmed her as the leader and she saw in him a gentle nature he had only ever shown her, and the rest of the class had supported it.

Still the fact that Ace snuck out of his dorm to get to her room in the face of getting into big time trouble was brave. Not to mention romantic. Deuce had been getting changed into her night dress when he had come over and after he arrived she decided to play him a song. He seemed comfortable lying on her lap.

"How long was I out?"

Ace yawned and Deuce looked over at her bedside clock. "An hour or sorts."

The boy turned to lie on his side and his hot breath grazed Deuce's thighs. Her night dress had been pushed up her thighs as Ace had slept but she had taken it with pride and not freaked out.

"Dammit, I didn't mean to sleep through this..."

Deuce smiled like an angel down at him before she leaned down and kissed his cheek. A sign of affection. "It's alright. If you want you can sleep some more."

He turned his head to where he was looking straight up at her, "You sure?"

She kissed him again, this time on the lips, and she kept her face close to his, "I'll play your song."

With that the talk was virtually done. He nodded and relaxed, "Okay, just please don't get in trouble for me being here."

Sitting up straight Deuce raised her flute to her lips, "Just count chocobos and I'll worry about the rest." With that she started playing once again.

Turning back to his side and allowing his head to get comfortable on Deuce's soft skin, Ace indeed began to think of those little yellow birds as he fell back to sleep on his girlfriend's lap, to the sound of her flute.
