Sitting on the edge of the bed, Yelena stared out of the window and waited for Kate to return. She was meant to be gone an hour, helping with some mission, and now four hours had gone by, nothing saying why.
Yelena was anxious, she felt it forming in her chest, clawing away, slowly eating at her. Not hearing the front door open, Yelena jumped when the weight of the mattress shifted.
"I'm so sorry baby, I missed you," Kate said, pulling Yelena close.
Resting her head on Kate's chest and hearing her heartbeat, Yelena was happy Kate was home.
